Jessica crouched next to Mark but did not draw any weapons, her gaze was fixed on the massive lizard like creature which now moved towards them hissing and flicking its tongue. "It..It.." She began then stopped as she saw the creature's image ripple in the air as a breeze passed up the valley wall. "It is an illusion...They are trying to scare us off....Did you see the image move?" She asked as the creature continued forward, now it was apparent that it left no trail behind it; although it did make noises as it moved.

"It must be.. I can't smell it and my sight has been blurred from the fall." Marcus stood up slowly, still aiming at the image, but rubbing his eyes with one hand. He tried to focus his sense of smell for anything out of place or anyone around. "Why the hell are they trying to scare us?... Is there something you didn't tell me about your relatives?"

"Well...Err...Yes, they can make images with their minds...Although I do not know why they want us to leave." She said as she stood up next to Mark, concentrating on the creature Jessica began to make her own image; soon a small flame whirlwind formed around the imaginative creature, it roared with rage before vanishing before their eyes. Jessica's whirlwind vanished along with it as she turned ehr attention to Mark, "Don't ask...Not yet." She whispered before slowly walking towards the forest.

Mark shook his head when Jessica answered his question, "I wasn't asking about the form of telepathy they have or the fact that they are illusionists. I meant why do they want you to leave?" He would understand that her people would want him out but he didn't understand why they were trying to drive her away, not unless it was because she brought him here. "Are you sure it was a good idea to have brought me here?" Mark put his gun in his holster, rubbing his eyes with both hands, finally getting the dirt out of his eyes.

"Yes, I am alowed to bring anyone I wish to this place as I inherited half of it." Jessica said before looking through some branches as if looking for something, after looking in about four different places she stopped. Now turning to face Mark she smiled reassuringly((Sp?)), "Besides, if they really wanted us to leave they would have attacked us physically." She said before pushing aside some willow branches to reveal a path through the dense forest; the path wound through the trees and seemed to be made of a dusty substance. "This will take us to the portal, because my family are illusionests they can alter the path with their minds, that is why they made it, that way if any intruders came they would become totally and utterly lost." She stated with a gleeful smile.

"Wow so young and already a proud of owner of land..." Mark laughed a little, watching Jessica as she moved about, wondering what she was up to. He placed his gun back in its holster before commenting on what Jessica just said. "Well if they had attacked us, I would have gave them a run for their money... Not sure if I would have made it out alive but still would put up a hell of a fight." Mark walked over to Jessica and examined the path, nodding slightly. "Alright, Miss Cheerful. Do you think they will be angry with you? I mean, it has been some time since you last been here." He gave her a slightly worried look, having always disliked being a bother to others lives, especially when it dealt with past issues or family issues.

"None of my immediate family are alive that is why I own the land, only my battle buddys live here now...The others like me who were trained in the world on the other side of the portal. They are my family now..." She said as she pushed aside some more branches and moved onto the path. "I am sure you would, they are not great at hand to hand fighting...although they can shoot things very well." She said with a slight laugh, nudging mark playfully. "I am sure that whatever grudge they have against me wont hinder our trip."

"I can shoot things very well too..." Mark mumbled under his breath with a slight pout, rubbing his neck lightly. He turned his head towards Jessica, watching her as she lead the way to the portal. Mark smiled slightly when she nudged him and he nudged back. "This is the longest I've been out of the mansion since... well, since before I joined. Two trips in one day and if we make it back in time, we can take that trip to space like I promised."

Jessica could not help but smile at Mark's slightly audiable comment about shooting things, "I would like that, I have never really..been to space." She said as she looked down the path, her gaze fixed on a white trunked tree about 10meters ahead of them. "I used to travel alot, but I have never really traveled with anyone else before..Assassin's life aye, always alone." Jessica commented rather sadly, but it was the truth, she had practially always been alone. "So what is your theory on the portal we are about to see..Do you thinkit is magic or science?"

"You'll love it." Mark said lightly as he sighed, putting his arm around Jessica's shoulders. "I know what you mean and I guess its probably the safest way for an assassin. But you're with us now, so you won't be alone for quite some time." He smiled at her, hoping she would cheer up somehow. Mark turned away after a moment, looking up at the treetops before lowering his gaze back down to answer Jessica's question.
"Wouldn't know. Where I come from magic isn't really all that common, maybe back on Earth but ever since we settled on Cornelia, a lot of the old faiths have been forgotten. But my guess is that the portal is fueled by magic, rather than any kind of technology. Apart from the theory of multiple universes, your home is more than likely on a different realm which isn't quite the same as an alternate reality. You're home is more than likely in a remote plane close to this one but can't be seen by an average person and nor can that average person get to it without said portal. That, or I could be talking a load of bull and not know what I'm talking about."

"Well that would explain the strange abilities which I have..although it has taken a while for me to figure them out." She said, leaning against Mark a little as they continued down the winding path, soon they came apon a small clearing filled with wild flowers. "Almost there...Thank you for letting me bring you here...And I am sure that you are right and I wont be alone now that I am with you." Jessica bent over to pick a white daisy, sniffing it then placing it behind her right ear.

"Yeah don't worry, it isn't like I'm going anywhere... ever." Marcus sighed slightly once they reached the clearing, his attention was drawn to the radiant white daisy that Jessica had just picked out. A strange attraction to the sight and scent of it made him move closer to Jessica and stared at the white daisy, his right hand finding its way over to it and playing with it gently. A small smile forming at his lips and said lightly, "It reminds me of the Moon Daisies we have on Cornelia."
Mark realized what he was doing and slowly moved his hand away from Jessica's ear, but he didn't look away. "I'm sorry..." He muttered and thought to himself, Stupid Lycan blood.

Blushing ever so slightly Jessica averted her gaze from Mark's and stared into the space behind him, she was feeling some strange emotions around him now and it was confusing her. "It is alright, you do not need to appologise..The flower is really pretty so I can understand your interest in it." She said with a gentle smile, "Moon daisies? I would like to see them...I love plants, not so much flowers but plants themselves, they are so free..and lead such simple lives." She stopped as she realised how weird it would seem to Mark that she infact envied the plants.
Jessica now looked into Mark's eyes, her eyes were glittering with a gentle joy; she was begining to wonder about Mark's feelings towards her as well as her own towards him.

Marcus' heart was racing but he wasn't sure if it was because of Jessica or because he had been briefly scared of the daisy and the effect the 'Moon Daisy' had on a werewolf. He had kept his hands close after he moved it from Jessica's ear, and now as he realized that it was infatuation he was feeling and not fear, his hand rested against Jessica's cheek. Mark's eyes locked onto her own, as if the feelings within him would go away if he were to look away.
I should say something, I want to say something, but I can't.. why can't I speak? Why am I feeling this way towards her now? These were the thoughts running through his head and he didn't understand why. He was feeling kind of vulnerable and he wasn't liking it, because the last time he felt like that, something had happened and he had barely recovered from that.
((Sorry for the incredibly long wait.. and I kind of rushed this post.. but yeah... my computer totally crapped out on me but I got it fixed, to some degree, and hopefully I can get my internet back on it today or sometime this week.. ><))

Jessica smiled and placed her hand over Mark's, she was unsure of how to act now that she was certain of their feelings about eachother. Thinking now that she should say something but also at the same time being completely unable to speak...She had somehow become mute in the moment of open affection.
