Marcus smiled slightly, as he clung to Jessica, feeling safe for some reason. He watched as his surrondings went from Buildings and concrete to dirt and trees. It had been a while, with the exception of the trip to Aastaian, since he had been a clean atmosphere and nature. Mark had a curious thought and looked up at the sky, now that it was getting dark, he hoped the moon wasn't full tonight. He sighed slightly when Jessica told him that they were nearing their destination, having been right about his ridiculous idea of using his ship when ground transportation was much easier and simpler.

((Yay!!))

After traveling down the gravel road for about 10minutes Jessica shifted into the lowest gear, bringing the bike down to a walking speed. They were now entering a narrow crevice which was not only dangerous on foot but pretty much unaccessible on bike. But Jessica had done this many times before, alone and with partners; she kept as close to the cliff face as possible, the slightest error would send them crashing down the ravine wall and into the forest valley below. "Ok, now here is the tricky part..Do you remember what I said about it being hard to get to? Well this is why, no car would ever make it down here unless it was lifted by helicopter...Or a space ship." she said, laughing a little at her own joke.

"Or telekinesis... Which I specialize heavily on." Marcus added, laughing at Jessica's joke. Despite the fact that he trusted Jessica to get them to the portal safely, he couldn't help but let his heart race as he caught a glimpse of how high up they were. Mark stayed alert if Jessica were to actually make any 'errors' and be ready to hold the motorcycle in place with telekinesis, if need be. "You know, I must admire your driving.. its excellent, and much better than my own when it comes to Gaian or Earthly vehicles." For a second there, Mark fell out of place and a strange to what was around him. With that, he leaned slightly against Jessica for support as he felt homesick for the first time two hundred and fifty years.

((I raise your "Yay" with a "Woot!" xD))

((I raise that with a Wheee!))

Jessica smiled affectionatly, she was growing fond of Mark and thouroughly enjoyed his company, "Well I have had this motorbike for years..But to be honest I am not the best driver when it comes to cars." She stopped the bike infront of a ledge, kicking the stand into place as she rummaged through the travel sacks which were permanently attatched to the bike. "We will need to go on foot from here, 'They' will bring my bike down when we reach the bottom, and because we will be traveling in the heat of the afternoon you may want to change into something lighter." She said as she pulled out some spare clothes for herself, moving back from the ledge into a small man made cave directly behind them.

((I double your raise with a "Boo Yah!" Royal Flush!!))

Marcus shuddered slightly when the bike stopped and he slipped off, almost falling on his behind on the soft ground. "Really? Well cars are overrated, I guess. Flying is the new trend, and once I get my fighter back, I'll teach you how to fly." He replied, giving Jessica a wink, before unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Grew up in a desert despite the pale skin." Mark added with a grin, as he removed his hat and messed up his hair. And said at the last minute, before Jessica entered the cave. "Can I put this in one of your sacks? Went through alot of trouble to find this..."

((Oh damn, I can't beat that. eek ))

Jessica nodded as she spoke, "Sure." Now standing in the shadows of the cave she changed into some purple knee low shorts, a purple tie top with a black sports bra underneith, then changing into her purple knee high boots. Looking back out to Mark she smiled once more before topping off her new attire with some fingertipless black gloves which frayed at the back, a black studded belt, some shades and a purple ski hat.

Walking back out to where Mark was waiting Jessica opened another pack, this time pulling out two small hunting daggers with an onyx gem encrusted on each hilt, these she placed in specially made pockets on the inside of her boots.
"Just being prepared..." She said more to herself than to Mark. The next item to come out of the sack was a small halster which held a small handgun, his she attatched to the left hand side of her belt.

Marcus placed his Admiral's hat in the sack and leaned against the bike, waiting for Jessica. He decided to check his guns to see which kind of bullets he had placed in the clips and was slightly disappointed. "Silver plating... Can't touch the stupid thing." That's when he sneezed and was surprised by Jessica's apperance, which caused his eyebrow to raise.

Marcus did not comment whatsoever and simply watched Jessica prepare herself for whatever they might face. Wishing he had come with better equipment, "Me without my sword... Great." He shook his head and waited for Jessica to finish. "Ready then?"

"Yep, lets go." She said, moving over to the edge of the ledge she sat down and then turned around to face Mark before lowering herself over the edge so that her upper arms were supporting her weight. "Follow me, but be carefull not to fall ok." She said before letting go and dissapearing over the edge, to Mark it have have looked like she had fallen, but in fact there was another small ledge two meters below the one they were standing on; and below that one was another, then another and so on and so forth untill it gradually reached the valley floor; their destination.

((Got to go soon.))

Marcus raised his hand after Jessica, his mouth open to say something as she neared the edge and disappeared. He rushed over to the edge and stopped suddenly, relieved to find that Jessica hadn't commited suicide and let out a low whistle. "Damn that's a long way down..." Mark took a deep breath and nodded to Jessica as he slipped down to the first ledge below the top, and began to follow Jessica down every ledge, careful to not slip.

((Same here... didn't realize what time it was ><))

((Muwahaha...Just you wait till we reach the bottom.))

Jessica reached the valley, her forehead was beaded with sweat from the climb although she was no where near exhausted yet, but the sun was harsh so she decided to move into the shadoe of the outskirts of the forest, sitting down under a rather large golden willow tree, waiting for Mark to catch up. Her gaze never left him as he made the climb down after her.

Mark stopped for a second to see if Jessica had made it to the bottom, and seeing that she did, he didn't bother wasting anytime, seeing as how he was only a couple of meters off the valley floor. But as he decided to climb the rest of the way down anyway, but the inevitable happened. He slipped, which wasn't much, and only caused him to land on his bottom again instead of his feet. Mark sighed and looked at Jessica, "Aren't I clumsy today?..."

He wasn't sure how he went from deep-sea diving expert scanvenger a couple of hours back, to a clumsy idiot. Mark shook his head as he got up and wiped the dirt from his shirt and pants, which looked lovely on black. "I'm guessing here's where you tell me there's a giant something guarding this portal.. or maybe some highly trained... err ninjas?" Mark said smirking.

((Oh no!! >< lol))
PostPosted: Fri Mar 31, 2006 11:32 pm

((Ohhh Yes! ^.^))

Jessica gave Mark a lopsided smile before folding her arms behind her head, leaning back against the willows trunk. "No..Just the remaining members of my family...Who well...are part something else, I am sure that if they see your with me that they will leave you alone..." Jessica's voice trailed off as she saw something rather large and green moving down the side of the valley...Heading straight for Mark. Jessica leapt to her feet and began to run towards Mark, waving her hands in warning as well as shouting, "Look out Mark!!! It's behind you!!! Run!!!"

((ZOMG lol))

Mark had heard something move behind him, but he was more aware of it when Jessica was shouting towards him. He didn't bother with getting up, instead he got in a crounching position and rolled forward towards Jessica. Mark was now facing the creature and kneeling in front of Jessica holding one of his P99's in both hands, cocked and ready to fire.

The beast had attacked exactly where Mark had been sitting, and if it weren't for Mark's heighted reflexes and speed, he would have been critically injured.

"What the hell is that?!?" Mark yelled, his vision blurred due to dirt getting in his eyes from his roll.
