I'll tell you why I am.
I am because I am, it's a part of me, it's who I am. I don't know why, and I don't care why. I would never want to change it, either, because it would be changing who I, as a person, am. And I would not want that.

I have no explanation for why I'm gay. I just am. I imagine, like most things, there are biological and psychological reasons working together. I know that I love who I love.
I do know, however, that there has been interesting research into some of the biological things (some of the most recent has dealt with pheramones). There is, in most cases, probably some genetic link, as there is with nearly anything in life.

Well, I personaly believe (at this time in my present understadning of homoseuxality) it is a thing people are simply born with.

You are gay because you're gay. It's a result of your genetics, your home environment, and (in some very scary cases) perhaps abuse.

SunnySkys my parants are trying to convince me that its because my mum divorced my dad and dads always on buisness trips. that means strong female parant +weak male parant=gay! that kinda what happened to me.

It has also been shown that homosexuality is a trait that has been around in even the earliest of human tribes. It is thought it was a neccessity to have some gay men in the tribe to create a balance, because of the way that they can understand the needs of all people.

The fashion gods decided that my town was in desperate need of guidance. Thus, they sent me as this town's Fashion Messiah. I was charged with the duty to go forth and teach about layering, matching of colors, and what not to wear. I was also given the power to smite down those who neglect to put some thought into how they look when they get out of bed in the morning. I was to bless those with the knowledge of several divine products so that hair might once again be appropriate to show off.
It is only now that I realize that the gods have bigger plans for me than this quaint little town I currently call home. Soon, it is off to the university life. Once there, I shall carry forth and gain the support of many so as to swiftly teach and save those poor poor souls......
Okay, I totally thought that this was a bit necessary. Everyone else was all up-tight and serious. I hoped this might lighten the mood, so to speak.

If we continue in that tangent, I believe my purpose has been to traumatize the other gents in the locker room with compliments. Going to a homophobic school carries danger and entertainment. Someone mentioned abuse cases as a potential cause, and I may or may not be an example of that. There are a lot of variables involved in my case, such as the genetics. I know that my real father used many slurs against homosexuality from when I first displayed an intrest in both genders. Maybe had an effect, maybe not. I just know what I like and what I don't. 3nodding

Kuroi Kokoro no Mendori I've read it can be caused by stress during pregnancy. You're kidding, right? Stress is kinda part of the whole "pregnancy package." At least, all of the pregnant women, and those around them, that I know, or have known, have been thus. Perhaps you mean an abnormal amount of stress?

Kuroi Kokoro no Mendori I've read it can be caused by stress during pregnancy. Is there any evidence for it? I don't know, but I get the feeling that's some sort wives' tale. I haven't done any research, so I could be full of myself.

Nah, seriously, It's most likely a mixture of things. Of genetics, maybe a pre-disposed gene to being gay, and your environment and just how you are treating and raised.
I knew, between the ages of 0-5, when things are supposed to teach you morals, and sharing and how you handle things *or the beginning* I loved to wear dresses......and I like guys.....maybe that has something to with it.

[.DarkenSoul.] there is scientific evidence that boys with older brothers are more likely to be gay then the older brother.!!BECAUSE!!when a fetus is concieved, and it is a boy, we have more Y chromosomes then a female fetus, and the mothers body interprets us as a foriegn body, and sends chemicals to us in order to try and destroy it, but it never works. they don't know how the chemicals do it, but they do know that it neurologically affects us. but if it is the 1st boy the mother has had, thye aren't affected, because the mothers body sends out only, minimal amounts of these chemicals.
BUT the more boys she has, the bigger the dose of chemicals is, each and every time.
and it works out to be about:
2nd son= +2.333(repeating)% chance of being homosexual
3rd son= 3.66(repeating)% chance of being homosexual
4th son= 4% chance of being homosexual
and so on, and son on, it isn't defined that you will be straight, or you will be gay when you are born, theres just a slightly higher chance you will be gay the more older brothers you have. I have to disagree. In my family it is the complete opposite. My mother had 3 boys. I'm the oldest and I'm gay. The 2nd is straight, married and has 3 kids. The 3rd is even more straight than the second.

Basically, I don't really know why I am gay. When other little boys were writing notes to girls amounting to "Do you like me? [ ]yes [ ]no" I was desperatly surpressing the urge to do it to them instead xp . I didn't know it was "wrong" so much as that they were either different from me or they had a secret all-male clubhouse and I wasn't invited. I figured it was the former.
