Riordan laughed robustly when Saige's head dunked under, but the last thing he expected was for her to push him back under!
Sputtering and laughing (which may not have been a great combination), he surfaced again.
"You cheat," he said, sending a small splash her way, "you didn't tell me you had wings! Although, I'm a little ashamed that I didn't notice."

"Well a girls got to have her fun somehow after all..." she said with a giggle and started to swim back towards the shore, "I mean what fun would it be if one couldn't play tricks every now and again... it keeps things interesting. Plus it was priceless moment watching you actually try to walk on the surface of the water."
She laughed again and walked out of the water and onto the dry shore dripping wet, "I do have to admit though you're the first one whom didn't notice my wings off from the start..." she said with a smile still on her face stretching then and fluttering them slightly to shake the water off the feathers.
After sitting in the grass by the sandy beach over looking the water, once more reflecting the sky perfectly.

Riordan tried not to blush as Saige teased him for not seeing her wings. Attempting to cover his slight awkwardness, he swam for a moment more in the water before following her to the shore, all the while trying to think of something to say.
Aha.
"You're wings are surely a sight to see
but it was your face that distracted me."
Not wanting her to take him too seriously, he splashed a little more water in her general direction before finally at least trying to dry off.

Saige just laughed at this and blushed ever so slightly, "well I guess thats not always a bad thing..." she said with a smile. She then laid back into the grass looking up at the twinkling stars above. It truly was a beautiful night.

Following suit, Riordan settled down in the grass beside her.
"Do you know anything about astronomy, Saige?" he asked, not bothering with rhymes. The stars, he thought, held beauty enough. It would be a wasted effort to try and compete.

Saige smiled not once taking her eyes off the stars above. "Indeed that I do, well that of which my Lady Dark has taught thee."
"And dost thou know about the great stars above?" she said now looking over at him, her own eyes sparkling like stars.

Riordan listened to the lilting sound of her voice a moment before answering, gazing at the sky.
"I only know a little," he admitted with a small smile, "but I'm learning the constallations and their meanings as I go." As he continued, he slipped back into his usual speech.
"I like the stars, they're like Gods face
they take me far away from this place
off off the earth and into the sky
to far away places as if I could fly."

Saige's eyes sparkled brighter at his words, and with a simple smile she said, "as you wish..." and then stood up on the ground.
"Come here..." she then said with a smile and awaited him.

Not entirely sure what she was going to do, but having a guess, Riordan slowly stood and stepped towards Saige. Not quite sure what he was supposed to do, he timidly held his hand out.

With a sweet smile she fluttered her wings and flew behind him. Locking her arms around his upper torso she lifted him with her into the skies above to give him the true feeling of how amazing flying really was.
Swooping over the mirrored lake letting his toes dangle in the water as they flew along she laughed merrily.
