[x]Adventure Banner Pending[x]

Kamira visits the X.I.A shop to Recieve her newest charge. Rather than a child, Kamira was given custody of a good-sized Cuckoo clock and a journal to record their lives together in. After a having some of her questions answered, Kamira headed home to get Lore settled in.

Lee twitched in his sleep, dreaming perhaps of his counterpart's adventures or the little sister that was supposed to come home today; or, more likely, of training. It was a light sleep though, and he woke instantly when sounds started coming in from the other side of the door--the one that led from outside directly to his owner/mother's bedroom. Sounds much like someone trying to open a locked door while carrying something that requires two hands. Quite a coincidence, really.

Kamira was having a bit of trouble, to say the least. The journal she'd placed in the bag by her feet, so that left one hand open, but while Lore in clock form wasn't really heavy she was unwieldy, so everytime she tried to reach out with the key Lore would tilt dangerously; and she didn't want to just put her on the ground. It seemed wrong, somehow.

Finally, calling on flexibility she didn't even knew she had, Kamira managed to get the door unlocked and, after a bit more gymnastics, open. She entered with a sigh of relief, shut the door behind her and carefully laid her bag and Lore on the bed.

Lee didn't move from his own basket-bed next to hers, but he watched with interest and when Kamira turned away to survey the room he jumped up next to the clock. He stared at it curiously and gingerly poked it with a paw.

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

Lee yelped and fell off the bed. Kamira spun around, distracted from trying to find a place to put her new daughter. For a moment she just stared, before it hit her what had happened. She laughed, ignoring Lee's wounded look, and knelt to help him up. "This is Lore," she explained. "Your new sister, like I told you this morning, remember? She's going to start as a clock and then she'll grow into a baby."

"Oh." Lee said, remembering their talk yesterday. "A baby? Like me?"

"Well...not exactly. She'll look more like me, but not exactly. I'm not sure what she'll look like, actually. We'll see, I guess." She smiled, patted Lee on the head and stood. "So, wanna help me figure out place to put her?"

Another child, another journal. These are actually pretty handy I suppose--like baby books. Anyway, about Lore. She's beautiful, which I guess sounds weird since she's a clock at the moment, but then, I've seen some beautiful clocks around so... The lady at the shop--I keep thinking her name is Odyssey but that doesn't sound like a name. Though, I've also seen some pretty weird names around Gaia too. Heh. Anyway, she gave me Lore, and this journal, and says all I need to do is make sure she's safe pretty much.

She seemed nice enough, though that man she works with seemed a bit...gruff, I suppose is the word. I wonder who's the boss, or maybe they're partners? Anyway, I brought her home and Lee seemed a bit surprised--sometimes I don't think he pays me any attention when I talk. Then again, I suppose I shouldn't talk to him while he's training.

Well, anyway, I think he's still a bit wary of her, but I hope that'll pass once she's...animate, I guess would be the word. He helped figure out a place to put her until she's human again. I certainly wasn't going to put her on the floor and on the desk or my bedside table seemed kind of odd. I wasn't sure if I should hang her somewhere either--she is a clock, technically, but it seemed kind of dangerous. The bedroom was the best place for her, definetely the safest, and I ended up hanging her on the wall above my bed--that way, in the unlikely event that she does fall it'll be on something soft.

Plushies!!:

Time for Lore to grow, how do you know? Oddy has called! She has informed you that the antidote is ready, and to come to the shop after you have checked your journal!

Also, we want you to write a Solo-RP or Journal entry describing how you feel, or what you do after the journal check and call before you come in!

Also you note a new page in your journal, which was given to you by Humfrey Double.

Journal Page

Before you visit the X.I.A. Shop, it would be nice that you buy some toys and at least 1 clock or time-themed item (can be anything from watch, hourglass, and so on), and an item that represents infinity (can be anything that means defines 'infinity' to you so long as it is tangible).

Please bring these items with you into the shop!

(Don't be scared to ask for help if needed. You may draw/create the images or find them online (as long as you credit where you got the images from, somewhere, later.)

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

Li growled and curled up tighter on the cushion that served as his mattress. Kamira muttered words she'd deny saying later and pressed the pillow tighter to her face -- quiet or suffocation, at this point she wasn't picky.

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

Kamira debated what to do for what felt like the hundredth time since Lore had started the incessant noise(from about one am to whatever time it was now; she was far too tired to check). She felt like she should punish Lore, but really, how do you punish a clock? A lecture wouldn't do any good, Kamira wasn't even sure if she'd be understood.

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

But this was just ridicoulous. Kamira was exhausted, Lee needed sleep, and Lore was tempting her surrogate mother to see if the clock could be turned off. She wouldn't, of course, that was far too dangerous, but still...it was nice to dream.

Kamira idly wondered if Lore was trying to say something. Maybe she was impatient to be "born"? Wanted more attention? Kamira sighed. Well, there was nothing she could do. She had no control over Lore's emergence, and she spent as much time with her as possible, talking to the girl-turned-clock whenever she could(it helped that she had always had a habit of talking out loud to herself). And who knew

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

"That's it!" Kamira snapped, tossing the pillow off the bed, nearly missing Lee in the corner and sprang up. Noting sourly that it was already nine in the morning, she reached out to unhook Lore from the wall, intending to remove her to a different room in some sort of time-out. Lore stopped in mid-call, apparently unsure of what she was doing. Only the sudden ringing of the phone in the living room saved her.

Lore waited a moment after Kamira had left to answer the phone, then let out a quick, almost triumphant cuckoo. "You're not safe yet." Lee commented without opening his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something more, but a sudden scream interrupted him and prompted him to sit up. "What-?"

Kamira ran into room, cutting him short again. "It's time!" She hopped in place, giddy on excitement. "Finally time! At last! I've got to get ready: I need some toys --good excuse to go shopping--, and a clock or something --I've got a pocketwatch around here somewhere-- and something infity-related --jewelry will probably work...Finally! I'm so excited!" Without giving anyone else in the room a chance to react, she bounded out of the room once more, all thoughts of punishement or exhaustion banished from her mind.

Lore waited a longer moment this time, then let out another quick, obviously triumphant cuckoo. "Oh shut up.".

Dear Journal

Well, I think I've finally collected everything I should need for Lore's growth. I'm using an old pocketwatch I found in the attic (at last; must've bought it ages ago, don't even remember why anymore) to fulfill the "clock/time" requirement. As for the infinity thing(which drove me
nuts
at first; I was about ready to just spray paint an infinity sign and call it a day) I found something perfect while bookshopping for Gyan.

It's kind of like an atlas, a book filled with maps of various solar systems and galaxies, which I figured fit the bill perfectly, considering that the endless universe is about as infinite as you can get. Hope it counts.

And since I was out shopping anyway, I picked out some toys for her: a set of beautiful and more importantly sturdy wooden dolls, some blocks, crayons, and a couple puzzles to encourage creativity, intelligience and all that, and(since I don't want to be accused of being sexist), a toddler-safe ball and glove set so we can play catch(I wonder if Lee would mind playing Fetch?). That spacey helper girl(why can't I remember her name? Now it's going to bug me.) mentioned on the phone that she could come out at any age from infancy to preschool, so I hope the toys are appropiate
enough.

Ah well. Should be fine. I better go and check on what I'm supposed to do now anyway.

Ciao!
