Daemon had better hunter instinct than his sister had, and he didn't want to just settle with a slight showing up of her. He had to do things right. Running through the grass he looked for a large bird to bring back, and he found that a short time into his run. In the long grass sat a crane, and with a devious pounce he knocked it out. Grabbing the bird he started to drag it back to where the dark nikko female was, not at all aware that the bird was just unconscious.
"A rabbit," Daemona snarled in her mind bitterly. "Why are there no rabbits when I need them?" She twitched her tail as she saw yet another squirrel run past chittering at her. That wasn't going to do, she wanted a rabbit. "Stupid bunnies, come out of hideing so that I can kill you." She groaned. Soon she was going to have to return in failure. "Stupid brother."

Esca yawned as she waited, then rapidly closed her mouth. It was obvious that neither of the two of them had really spotted her yet, and she loved to remain in mystery as long as possible. But she did hope they'd return soon; waiting for the 'mighty hunters' to return was rather dull.

Daemon headed back into the clearing with his 'kill' pride on his face as he sat down and waited for his sister's return, his paws resting on the large still crane. The bird itself was nearly twice the size of the pup, showing just the kind of effort that was needed to bring it down. He wagged his tail and waited.. and waited.. and.. "Come on sis, you can't be that slow. Its just a stupid bunny."
She had failed, of all the same inside she had failed to her brother. Daemona slunk back to the clearing a time later with her tail down and bitter look on her face. She had nothing to show for her efforts and there sat her brother with a large bird. Oh how she hated him. Then again, she hated everyone.

"Well, that seemed to be a horribly failed experiment; but then, rabbits are as common in this section of woods anyway." Esca unfolded her wings and strolled over to look at the bird; while it was an impressive sight, she had noticed the faint movement of its lungs... "But at least that makes two of you who failed to make a kill. You ought to make sure your prey is dead, or else it might fly away from you." She raised a brow at Daemon, wondering if he'd actually not noticed that the bird was alive.

Daemon blinked and looked at her, fluffing up in anger. "It is dead, one strong pounce and I killed it!" He punctuated the words with a jump on the bird, which woke it from its stunned state causing it to flap its wings and hit the small male in the head, knocking him over.
Daemona smirked and looked at her brother. "Failure!" She smirked and looked at the bird as it flew away, leaping after its tail feathers and missing. "Well you suck as bad as I do."
Daemon shook his head "Nuh uh, at least I broght something back. You had nothing at all to show for your waste of time in the woods!"

Esca watched the bird leave with a smile of amusement; it would have made a good meal or two, but the show it was causing was almost as good. "Surely you mighty hunters aren't going to let one little failure set you back? Just aim smaller. It makes sense that a small nikko like you wouldn't be able to kill a bird of that size, after all, no matter how tough you are." She regarded the tots with amusement as they bickered; how incredibly inane.

Daemona was the one that looked mad again now. She was finally seeing the dark female and she wasn't likeing her one bit. Caustic and irritating and so full of judgement. Aim small, not able to do it. "My brother can do what he wants when he wants!" She yelled, her body fluffing again.
Daemon was prepared to yell at his sister again when her words caused him to stumble and finally fail to say what he wanted. Had she just defended him? "Who are you and what did you do with my twin?" He blinked and poked his sister getting a bite on the paw for his actions. "Oww... geeze.. what was that for?" He was starting to think that his sister was in two places. The dark female did have a rather caustic attitude that seemed part of the family.

"My my, such a vicious attitude for one so young." Esca returned Daemona's cold gaze with one of her own, although hers also contained sly amusement. She also ignored the fact that she was young as well, because after all; she was only young in looks. And even in looks she was older then them. "First he's unable to do anything, now he's the best thing ever? How very hypocritical. You need to learn to stick to things, child." She moved her gaze from the female to the male, baring her fangs in a smirk. "You ought to be touched to have such a loyal sister...when it suits her."

Daemona looked blandly at the other female, her fur still fluffed up. It was more than a little apparent that the young pup was highly irritated with the words that were being issued by the slightly older nikko. She even shot her brother a look dareing him to agree with the stranger. "I can believe or thing what I want, HE is my brother after all. I am not saying he is not loser, he is, but he is still.. you know.
Daemon wasn't sure if he should be insulted or not, the words his sister was speaking were more than a little backhanded and they really didn't make for good compliments. Actually the more he thought of it the more he thought that she was just makeing him seem more and more pathetic.

"Exactly, he is your brother to use and abuse as you see fit. I've seen the type." Esca flicked her tail idly, not mentioning the fact that she herself was even worse. After all, she had disowned two of her own three siblings, and wouldn't even recognize their existance; compared to that, these tots were angels. Even if the girl was a tad...arrogant.

Daemon sighed and he sat down. It was getting dull already, he knew his sister and he knew that she was just getting started. She wasn't the kind to let someone have the last word on anything, and her stubborn attitude had more than one cost her company and friendship. That was minor but it had cost him freedom too because when she was in trouble, he was in trouble. Granted half the time he deserved it as well. "Shut up already, I want to get going."

Esca glanced towards the male sharply. While his attitude belied childish petulance, at least he wasn't as keen on pointless debate. But unsure whether he was talking to her or his sister, she automatically took umbrage, bristling slightly. What rudeness!

Young as he was Daemon knew that the strange girl was mad at him. What else was new, there was always someone mad at him for some reason. He glared right back, ignoreing the bristling in order to look at his twin sister. "Move it, we are going, fight on your own time."
Daemona looked back at him and hissed, puffing up more and showing her sharp little teeth. "How dare you?"
Again Daemon gave her a flat look. "I dare, now shut up."

Well, this was an activity that had officially lost it's allure. She had better things to do than sit around and listen to two tots bicker; there were romances to interfere with, after all. While the two were engaged in their little conversation and thus distracted, she silently turned and walked into the trees.

Daemona noticed first that the female was gone, and she sighed, heading toward the mountains again. "About time too, grrr, ruining our day like that." She was still puffed up and looked terribly irritated.
Daemon looked over his shoulder trying to find some clue as to where the female had headed off. She was a lot like his sister and he was starting to wonder if they were related or something. If attitude alone would forge a bond, her attitude was enough to make her a big sister hands down. He had never taken such abusive words before except for his twin. "Yeah, I guess we move on alone."
