Dragonfire's first psychic assault stopped soon after he sent it, afterwards sending out a wave of the energy in all directions. The dust around him cleared, the wave of mental energy visible through this. He sent another wave after it, and another an equal distance behind that one. He continued doing this, having to devote all of his thinking to that action, his subconscious now resposible for reacting to outside threats.

Crow saw the waves begin to pulse out from behind the fading barrier. He recognized the attack, and made a quick move to handle it. Pulling both of his hands back briefly and leaning back in an iron stance they were charged with ki. Then in he threw them forward into the barrier that was nearly gone. Instantly it gained power far above the previous shield and began to move forward very quickly. Crow ran behind the barrier as they both approached Dragonfire with great speed.

Dragonfire's subconscious saw the movement towards him, making the body of the focusing attacker move as quickly as possible to get out of the concentrated state. With one swift kick Dragonfire moved quickly above Crow, his speed leaving him on the other side of Crow in instants and sliding to a stop moments later. He threw his head backwards, then threw it foreward, opening his mouth, to shoot a vicious and uncontrolled blast of energy at Crow where it would explode violently once it hit something. At this level it was likely to blast through three feet of concrete.

Crow saw Dragonfire jump off to the side to begin a new attack. Knowing it was a projectile he continued running. When it was shot he knew that the sheild would take more energy to withstand the blast, energy he did not wish to put in. With a small burst of speed Crow dashed cleanly out of the path of the blast, but he hadn't stopped there. With a short and quick roundhouse he knocked his own sheild back towards Dragonfire. At it's sideways trajectory it would not collide with the oral blast, but rather act as a direct projectile to Dragonfire's side. Crow still followed the blast by a number of meters.

Dragonfire barely saw the attack coming at him, but he was able to retaliate. He put forth his arm closest to the sheild, catching it harshly in his hand. He was forced back a few feet from the force behind it and he had to brace after a second of this. Once it was done he stood still, waiting for something else to happen. Or so it seemed. He sent out an almost invisible psychic attack at Crow, the small wave simply would cause someone to flinch or blink. It would give him an extra moment of two if he charged, and he had nothing to lose if he was not preparing something.

Crow was completely unaware that a blast had just been sent out, he hadn't been focused enought on Dragonfire to do that. Rather on the fact that it seemed that Dragonfire was doing nothing. It made Crow suspicious as he approached. Then just as he was about 20 feet from him, he felt a pinch of a psychic shock in his mind. 'What the Hell was that!?' He thought to himself as he came to a halt very suddenly. He had already begun charging a new attack, it was still charging, but he stopped charging, wondering what Dragonfire had just done. 'Was it a trick? Preparation for something...?' He still thought as he watched Dragonfire.

Dragonfire saw Crow stop, immediately estimating the distance between them in the instant that he was granted. He swung his empty hand as wide as he could in a continuous action, starting as far as it could go backwards and moving up to his other side. After his swing a line of explosion went up as the energy above and around Crow fell suddenly from the air, making bright flashes as it erupted into the air around where it hit.

Crow noticed Dragonfire's new attack was quite straight forward. 'It wasn't a trick? Or maybe he was just bidding for time...' Crow thought as he continued to watch the attack. Then as Dragonfire swung his hand in a wide arc Crow stared, expecting an energy blade attack. He was surprised as Dragonfire released an advancing row of blasts, it wasn't a problem. However as he prepared to evade he had not noticed the energy hiding above him, the blasts were closing in wih rapid pace. With a swing of his arm Crow used the energy he had built to force back the energy in front of him and clear wide path to Dragonfire. "Blackout!" Crow yelled, and at that instant he dissappeared, leaving a quick gust of wind towards Dragonfire.

Dragonfire swore inwardly, losing track of Crow at that instant. This was almost always fatal in fights like this and he knew it. Not to mention his reserves were starting to near the noticabley drained point. Quickly Dragonfire put a hand to the ground, a blinding light coming up from an area around him as he prepared his next attack. It was slow but it would be effective if it worked.

Crow shielded his eyes from the light that came from Dragonfire, but didn't for long, he didn't need sight to know where he was. Closing his eyes Crow sensed Dragonfire's position on the plane. Then throwing his hands together he shot a moderately powerful beam of ki straight at him. Crow continued to sense Dragonfire's ki as he thought to himself. Not a bad strategy my friend...

Dragonfire did see the attack coming, setting up a small barrier from under the ground to deflect the beam. The angle meant that he would not have to spend as much of his own ki to prevent getting hit. It worked relatively well, although it took more energy than he thought it would. He stared right at Crow, sending a small psychic suggestion at Crow. 'Attack, he is weak. Do it now.'

Crow was still firing the beam at Dragonfire as he blocked it, keeping the opponent pinned down. Then suddenly he recieved a command from his mind. 'Attack, he is weak. Do it now.' Crow shook his head, still holding the attack down. The voice was not of his own mind, it wasn't of his nature either, the violation of the rules of his own pyche caused a most peculiar reaction. The beam he had been firing turned darker and redder in color, turning it purple. His eyes flashed red in short flares, and also shifted into thin slits at intervals. The beam began to release gigantic flames and sparks out to the sides. The change in the blast easily shattered the barrier and made its way to Dragonfire with violent power. Moments afterwards, Crow screamed and fell to his knees. He shifted his weight back and forth as he tried to shake off his sudden spell of unconscious violence.

As soon as his barrier broke Dragonfire jumped to the side of where it would head, being careful to keep at least one finger touching the ground. The force of the beam caused him to be pushed even further to the side due to the excess energy released. Still, he was able to keep contact with the ground. He knew Crow might just target him with energy attacks, and this was not what he needed. As he slid to a stop, kneeling down again with his right hand flat on the ground, he pulled his left arm back and built up energy in it. What he would use it for he did not know yet.

Crow had not seen what had just happened. He was unaware that Dragonfire was building an attack. 'What the Hell just happened, that wasn't me...' He thought to himself as he held his throbbing skull. Crow could only puzzle on this for a moment, he quickly noticed that Dragonfire was building a new attack. 'Maybe I should ask him, well, after the battle' He finished his thought as he rose from his knees and began to watch Dragonfire again.

Dragonfire watched Crow carefully, noticing his confusion but not even thinking of trying to use it. It would backfire, those sort of traps never worked on people like Crow. Only on people like him did it ever do anything effective. The ball of energy in his left hand was calm and focused, not to mention seemingly patient. Dragonfire thought quickly how he could get Crow where he wanted him and only one came to mind. He started gathering some of his psychic power in front of him, slowly and carefully creating what he needed. He went about it slowly, using most of his mind to keep track of what Crow was doing.
