"Yes, but it's so exciting to see new places!" Calli's face glowed with happiness. "I love to travel. Never been to America, though, not since that awful Muggle's been in office." She fiddled with her skirt and pulled her school cloak tighter. Her hair was almost dry and the warmth of the kitchen was giving it a nice toasty feeling. Her eyes drooped and she yawned. "How're those truffles coming along?"

Alair shrugged with no comment about Calli's veiws on travle, removing the steamy top bowl of his double-broiler to dry off the moist sides. At her question, he happily explained what he was doing. "Well, I gotta mix the cream in with my chocolate, and then- sense I don't really feeling like waiting around for two hours, I'm gonna spead up the cooling process with a few charms until it's as thick as puddin'." He smiled happily at his unfinished paistery and carefully mixed the two components together. "It's a bit like potions really, but I wouldn't be expecting Profesor Monaghan to make you truffles any time soon." Alair smiled again and poured his mixture into a flat tray, followed by covering it with a simple sheilding cast.

Calli smiled agreeably. "Probably not. Although it would certainly be entertaining to bug him about it..." Her expression turned slightly mischievious as she plotted, but she quickly covered it. "How is Professor Kiri? Off somewhere flirting?" A house-elf came to take the drained cocoa mug. "Might I have some pumpkin juice, please? Thank you." She shed the cloak and loosened her uniform blouse when she started to feel too toasty.

Alair followed with his speedy plan, chortling when she was grinning evily. "Now now, don't torture the poor lad, he's new after all." He chimed. He smiled when she mentioned his sister. "Oh of course she is! I wouldn't be surprised if she had gotten farther then that already... Not that I'm sugesting anything inapropriate~." By the time he finished talking he was half way through making his truffles, now starting to fill in a pan with his batter before pouring cream over it.

((I'm thinking of making a boy character for Calli to be with 'cause I feel bad that the only people your girl can interact with is teachers. That and I'm sad to admit that there aren't enough het. couples in play, and we can't have everyone being gay in Hogwarts sweatdrop ))

Nienna absently reached up to tickle the pair, still staring down at the papers she was grading. The young teacher untucked the quill from behind her ear, sending off a train reaction of shifting her reading glasses down on her nose and slipping a blond curl loose from her loose bun. With a flick of her hand, the glasses were again in place and she was walking into the kitchen.

It was just her luck that she'd miss dinner. Students were such amazing creatures, the ones who used their minds could cause her to sit for hours upon hours reading through their essays.

A gentle tug on her dark blue robes grabbed her attention, bringing a bloomin smile to her face as she looked down at one of the wide-eyed house elves.

"It's Poppy, isn't it? Could you make me a turkey sandwhich please?" The child-sized creature nodded so fast that her ears flapped, then hurried off to do as she was bid.

Nienna settled down into one of the stools next to the counters, trying to finish up her essay grading.

((If I could have another character, I could bring one of mine in. But... Sadly, I'm at my maximum. ^__^'))

Alair looked up at the new arival and smiled at the company. Though he'd never gotten a chance to talk to the woman, she seemed like an interesting woman, what with the entrancing subject she taught. "Professor Ninque! How are you?" It was more formal then he felt at the moment, but seeing that he's never talked much to the mysterious teacher, it seemed the most appropriate option.
((Thas okay Coley! 'M glad to have any character interaction, though the kitchens is a tad akward for a social hour ^^"
Yay~ I'm makin' a Hufflepuff from the Netherlands!))

Nienna's head shot up at hearing her name. As it would happen, the man who had said her name was baking across the counter from her. The blonde flashed a bright grin in his direction, utterly tickled that another staff member was in the kitchens.

"Well hello!" She said cheerfully and took off her glasses. "It's Alair Hurst, isn't it? The nurse?" Nienna smoothly tucked a tendril of loose hair from her eyes and sat up straighter. "I'm doing just fine, and would be much better if you'd just call me Nienna. How are you?"

"Evening, Professor." Calli smiled over at the preoccupied teacher and took her pumpkin juice from one of the house-elves. She eyed the stack of papers warily, wondering if anything of hers was in there. Just her luck, it'd be the essay she'd finished in a panic at three in the morning.

Calli loosened her Ravenclaw tie a little more, sipping at the pumpkin juice and watching the two adults.

Alair nodded both to her skeptics and her choice of title. "Yes, that would be me, and in that case you can call me Alair." he thought about the right thing to say for a moment, before settling with a friendly smile. "I could be better, but that's what truffles are for!" He said happily before spooning our the containts of his cream bucket onto the tray infront of him.

"Good evening, Miss Corte." Nienna flashed a friendly smile in her direction and turned her attention back to Alair. "Well Alair, since you say you can be better I'll assume that you're not feeling your best. In that case, I'm sorry to hear your feeling under your par." The young woman grinned and rested her elbows on the counter. "I'm sure that some food might help, though. A gateway to the soul, you know?" She said with a light chuckle.

Alair simply nodded. "Thank you, and I heartily agree. So what brings you down to the kitchen?" He asked on a friendly note.

((gah, short post, sorry. Currently working on the latest SuS 3nodding . Oh! And I'm drawin' a purty picture of Isis from your guy's post in the Gryffindor dormitories >.<. The image was just too perfect, I couldn't resist!))

"Oh, just got wrapped up in documents and essays. I guess being burried in all those papers made me forget that bodies need nourishment to function." The blonde beauty smiled sheepishly, her sparkling blue-green eyes wrinkling at the corners with amusement. "In all, I just missed dinner and decided to come down here for some food... Oh! Thank you Poppy."

Nienna leaned over and took the plate from the small elf, offering a large smile to creature before she scampered off again. "I suppose it's an occupational hazard, getting wrapped up in your work. At least I won't be grading things like this all the time." She sat up straight and placed the sandwich on the counter. "Does that happen often to you in the Wing? I'd imagine it would, since students usually manage to set themselves aflame, blow up couldrens, break bones -No offense Miss Corte." The Astronomy teacher flashed another sheepish grin towards the student. "It must be very taxing though."

((That's cool. XD I'm sure Ryvn will love to hear that. For the life of me, I can't seem to draw Isis. e.e' Guess I just need some practice.))

Alair tilted his head to the side when she mentioned food. "Dinner..." As if on que his stomach gave a loud grumble. He blushed slightly, looking down in the gerneral vicinity of his tummy with a scowl before looking back at the Astronomy teacher with a sheepish smile. "I guess that goes for me as well. I'll just have to finish these sooner then!"
He thought about the 'homework load' for his job. "Well, it doesn't get too bad. Most of the students don't spontaniously combust anymore, though there was that one incedent with Domini's Child-eating Bush..."

((^_^ It took me a looongg time to get the eyes right on her. I'm drawing the scene where she's in Nyx's beater and has Nyx's robes spred out around her and is the 'epidomy of heart-broken'... Gah! You two are such good role players @_@! Your posts are always so pretty to read >///<))

"Domini... The Herbology professor, obviously!" She giggled softly. "Who else would have a carnivorous bush?" Nienna tucked another loose hair behind her ear, once again fighting a loosing battle in that department. "I hope it wasn't too terrible. I'm guessing the student is alright, since you're down here baking?"

((*Blushies* You flatterer. heart And thanks. It usually only gets uberly descriptive when we're in the right mood though. For me, personally, I love your humor. XD You always manage to make something funny. <_<))

Alair cringed, remembering the incedent. "Oh, there fine. My eardrum maybe permidently damaged from the screaming, but they're fine." Alair sighed, then put on a sarcastic tone. "But that's alright, because as long as the child's fine then everything is peachy keen, even if the children woke me up at 5:30 in the morning with it's wails." He ended resentfully, before rolling his eyes and grinning. "Don't you just love the school board?" he joked with an annoyed tone heaviliy apperant in his voice.

((Moo-haha! Finker lovely has a little part in that, I never use to be this quick witted with humor. But, it get's me a good grade in English, so I'm more then happy! And thankie as well =>_<=))
