I more or less have the general meanings memorized, but it took me about a year or so to retain all of that, lol. And plus, there are some decks it doesn't transfer over to, as I use the Rider-Waite deck, and not all decks are laid out the same way. There's nothing wrong with using the little book, hehe, in fact it's quite handy to have.
Yeah, I somehow cannot memorise the general meanings, considering I started with a little deck/book that I snagged at Waldenbooks, and now I use one of those "The Little Black Book of Tarot" books. I really should get a more in-depth book, but the Little Black Book is so easy to carry around
