Aysha tilted her ears toward the leopard, her head following soon after. That hadn't been said to her in a long time, that someone cared about her and just wanted her to be happy. Ausi's father had said those things, but that was before he attacked her and got her pregnant. She knew he hadn't meant those words. But Jack... he was different. He actually sounded truly and completely sincere. Could she trust him?
Moving around, she stood very close to him. Her eyes searched his for a moment, as if searching for an answer to something. She might have found the answer, or she might not have; she didn't exactly show a helpful reaction.
"I've just been hurt... too much... by the people I thought cared." She paused to frown and shake her head. "I just don't want to go through any more." Her eyes began to water as she moved towards him, eventually ending up laying next to him with her head nuzzling into his neck.
"I need proof.. I need a promise."

“I want to give you more then a promise, Aysha... I want to show you...”
*Kujak’s lime green eyes narrowed softly as the lioness nuzzled herself against him. It had been so long and he didn’t know how to react to her affection. Aysha meant a lot to him and he didn’t want to mess this up. His chest softly pumped up and down as he felt his heart rate sky-rocket away. A deep gulp passed his throat as he did his beat to clear it, before speaking to her again.*
“I want to be with you.”
*Promises meant nothing to him; Kujack had always seen such things as a waste of time and energy. To him, the gift of reality was far better then that of words that were made to simply be broken.*

Aysha shook and curled until she was almost in a ball. She just felt so small and so unimportant...
Blinking up at him, she sniffed. "Sh-show me what?" Jack never really did finish telling her what it was that he wanted to show her, for he had moved on to say that he wanted to be with her. Her heart fluttered when she heard the words, but there was something screaming in the back of her mind, telling her it was a trap. But was that her paranoid side or her logical, thinking side?
"I..." The lioness hesitated a moment. Should she really commit herself? How could she be sure that he wouldn't just hurt her like everyone else? Sure, he sounded sincere. But that didn't mean he was, did it?
"I think.. I do too but..." She paused for a moment, unsure of herself. "I don't want to be hurt again."

“I want to show you that I love you.”
*He nodded softly, resting his head against her neck line. He longed for this, a Kujack wouldn’t rest until she understood that he would never harm her. He hated what had happened to her in the past and wished only to help her forget such horrible things. Nuzzling his face into her fur he sighed and spoke softly to her.*
“I want to be your mate, I want to father your cubs… I want to grow old with you, until you and I wither away… and even then I won’t leave you.”
*He nodded softly against her neck, before slowly moving himself back. He eyed at her and smiled deeply. Even if it took years for her to fully understand him, Kujack would never leave her alone. He would always be there to help her and love her, like he wanted to.*
“I want to be with you, Aysha- I don’t care about what anyone else thinks… I can not stop how I feel toward you… and I don’t think I want to.”

Aysha couldn't believe her ears. Was Jack actually committing himself to her, saying that he would never leave her and that he'd be with her until they were old and ancient? His words were some that she had never heard spoken to her before, and it gave her a tingling sensation in her belly.
She really didn't know what to think of all this. Her heart pounded against her rib cage as she breathed and looked up at Jack. He seemed so serious, but she had been hurt in her life and was a bit cautious, hesitant. Yet then something clicked in her mind. It was like this gentle push that drove her to believe the leopard, to want to spend the rest of her time with him.
Sighing in relief, the lioness nuzzled Jack. "I love you."

*The male leopard smiled deeply at Aysha as she spoke to him. Her words filled him and pushed his heart beat to an extreme. Jack would never harm her- he loved her. Softly he nuzzled his chin along her neck and sat himself beside her, keeping her safe... just like he wanted to. Even if this was against all ruling… a lion and a leopard, Jack didn’t care. Aysha and Ger had changed him and now he had a life to look forward to. He wouldn’t go back on his words- Jack would keep her safe and sound, always.*
