..: Shiriko's First Friend :.. Posted from pages 243 to 247, in-shop MoogerMint Shiriko watched the chaos ensue from a shaded area, wrapped in a blanket snugly. The top of the blanket hung out over his red eyes in a sort of canopy, protecting him from the light. He liked it out here, but he just wished it wasn't so bright!
He got nervous with all the bundles rolling around, fearing they may hurt themselves. He wished he could be as carefree as they all seemed to be, but he always had to be careful about his... "condition." He sighed and wrapped himself up tighter, wishing he could help, wishing the sun wasn't so painful. MoogerMint Shiriko fidgeted a little, unnerved over the baby's crying. He never liked it when other people were hurt in any way, but he hoped that the bunny could settle it. There weren't as many people here as he thought before, and his eyes turned to Para Sol as he untangled his tail. He seemed to be a little antisocial and shy, and Shiriko found himself grinning a little. Interesting thing to note... Fantasy_Rocks13 Waryk wandered in. He blinked at the bright lights, wincing as he bright up a winged arm to protect his sensitive eyes. Grumbling under his breath, the young bat quickly fleed to a shadowed area. Suddenly he helped as he tripped over someone. He turned to see the pale lion he'd tripped over. "Sorry..." he mumbled. MoogerMint Shiriko reeled his feet in quickly as he felt the bat tripping over him, snapping his head back to what was before him instead of what was happening around him. He leaned over to face Waryk, body still hidden beneath the blanket but for two red eyes and pale face. "It's okay. Seems you don't like the light either. Am I... presuming correctly?" he asked, grinning. He'd never met anyone else that liked the dark as much as he did. Fantasy_Rocks13 Well that was a first for Waryk! He hadn't tripped before! He blinked at Shiriko as he looked at him. But the bat smiled as the lion spoke. "Yeah... It hurts my eyes. And you?" he asked, crawling over to sit by him. "Mind if I join you here?" MoogerMint Shiriko blinked, surprised. The bat didn't realize what he was? But his smile warmed him; at least he didn't think he was a freak. "You... you could say that. The sun actually hurts me, though. Physically," the albino lion explained, fidgeting slightly at the thought of explaining himself to someone. He hadn't even talked much to anyone, let alone explain his "condition." But... the striped bat didn't seem to phased by it. On the contrary, he seemed to relate to it.
As Waryk crawled over to sit next ot him, Shiriko nodded swiftly in compliance. "Sure you can. Want some of this?" he asked, holding up a hand clenched around the blanket he was wrapped in. He knew he might not want any, seeing as the day was so hot, but why not offer? "By the way, my name is Shiriko. Shiriko Fukashigi." Fantasy_Rocks13 "Hurts you?" Waryk replied, a little shocked. "Why?" he asked simply, bending his knees up so he could wrap his arms around them. "Oh! Yes please!" the bat said, immediately scooting under it. He liked blankets in general. Heat or no! "Oh, I'm Waryk. Nice to meet ya, Shiriko!" MoogerMint Shiriko's mouth twisted slightly at Waryk's question, but he didn't feel as shy as usual about it. Maybe he felt there was more in common with them than he thought. "I'm an albino," he said, pointing to himself for emphasis as he turned to face the bat. "Albinos burn more easily in the sun, and the light basically blinds me, even if it isn't bright enough to do that to other people. Besides, I like it at nighttime better, anyways. I like the moon an the stars..." he explained, trailing off when he realized he was talking too much. He leaned back into the wall, the shine of his white hair covering the almost unnatural chill of his red eyes.
With Waryk's consent and better positioning, Shiriko wrapped the blanket around Waryk's shoulders and head, almost completely blocking the sun from view. He laughed as the blanket capsized over his eyes and pulled it away, snickering a, "Sorry about that." As the bat introduced himself, Shiriko nodded, saying, "I like that name! It seems to fit you rather well!" Fantasy_Rocks13 Waryk waited patiently for Shiriko to reply. "Ooohh... I see. Sorry 'bout that. You like the night? I do too!" he said, face seeming to light up. Now he was amped! "That's okay! Cool, we have something in common! Thanks... I like it too!" MoogerMint Shiriko snickered and touseled Waryk's hair, although he held his hand above the blanket and was therefore touseling it as well. "It's okay, it's just something I was born with. You get used to your differences as you grow, so it doesn't bug me much anymore. Everyone's different in some way from everyone else, mine's just a bit more apparent. No biggie," he explained, smiling brightly. "Yes, the moonlight is really the only natural light I can handle, so it surprised me when I could actually be in it. So, you like the night as well?" he said, grabbing his own feet as they were braced against one another. "I guess we do! It's nice to be able to have things in common, isn't it? It gives us something to talk about," he laughed, looking over at the two nearly-silent children a way before them. It was nice to observe, but it was better to talk. Fantasy_Rocks13 The bat giggled as his hair was mussed. "I guess so...!" he said, smiling widely. "Yes... It is nice! And neither of us mind sitting in the dark!" Waryk wriggled under the blanket, getting comfy. MoogerMint Shiriko smiled broadly, glad this guy was so easy-going. It didn't seem as though he would be pushed away from someone very easily. He was happy for the company. "Can you think of anything that's differnet about you?" he asked, poking his nose softly. He seemed like fun.
"What do you like to do at night?" Shiriko asked, hands on his feet once more as he began rocking back and forth slowly. Nice to get some circulation moving in there once in a while... "Too bad it's not darker over here, or we might not need the blanket!" he said, already beginning to get too hot.

..: Journal Entry #001 :.. The sun was just starting to peek above the horizon, but Shiriko's bedroom was already lighting up. The albino lion buried his head into the pillow on his bed, wrapping the covers tighter around his shoulders. It was so comfy, but he needed to do something before going to bed. He had been up all night, happy about the fact he had finally made a friend. He needed to keep the memories fresh, and the best way to do that (he knew from word-of-mouth) was to write it in a journal. Luckily, he had a notebook he used mainly for calculations and note-taking, but he had quickly ripped out the other pages without hesitation to make it into his new, if still makeshift, journal. Whipping out a blue pen, he clicked the button at the top to release the tip from the cover and he began to scribble down the words: Entry 1:
Today was... well, it was great! I actually made a friend today! It's been so long since I've had any human contact, and I was beginning to think it might actually be impossible for this to happen. It's so hard to meet people when one can really only go out when the sun isn't shining, and rarely is anyone out at night.
Today, however, I took a risk. I bit the bullet and went outside, though I was frightened what people might think of me carrying around a blanket. It was to shield my skin from the sun, but others might've thought I was a bit of a baby. Luckily, I was given the chance to explain, and it didn't seem to matter.
Waryk is really nice. He's a great person to be around, and really understanding! We had a lot more in common than I would've thought, too! It made me happy I still had a connection to the outside world in some way. I really hope we can get together again some time; maybe there's more we have in common that I have yet to uncover?
~ Shiriko Finishing up, he closed the book, set it on the stand next to the bed, and turned the light off, almost as if it were in one swift move. Much better..! he sighed as he drifted off to sleep.

He took out a sketchbook and pencil and started sketching.:: MoogerMint Shiriko: *smiles, hoping he's not making things tense* Oh, you draw? That's cool! What are you drawing now? *doesn't want to invade space* Coyotes Cry Lysander::...The scenery here...I-it's nice...::He didn't look up, but continued to focus on his drawing. It wasn't that he didn't like Shiriko. He just wasn't good at making conversation.:: MoogerMint Shiriko: *waves his tail slightly as he looks around, too* Yeah, I like it here as well. I don't stop by nearly enough. Hey, do you like koi fish? They're very relaxing to watch. ^.^ Coyotes Cry Lysander::uh....I've never...seen a koy fish..::Lysander admitted peaking up from the paper for a moment and then immediatly looking back down.:: MoogerMint Shiriko: *grins* Then maybe I'll have to show you sometime! They're very colorful; I'm sure you'd like them. Coyotes Cry Lysander:Colorful fish...::he put down his pencil and thought about it. What did this fish look like? Shiriko really seemed to like them.::hmm... MoogerMint Shiriko: Yep! They;re pretty large and most are friendly, if they aren't afraid of you. It depends on how they're brought up. *nods* Would you want to see them sometime with me? Coyotes Cry Lysander:..uh...::He was surprised by the question and so took a whle to reply::...um..sure..::He smiled nervously shiriko, realized he was looking at him, and then quickly turned his attention back to the drawing::OOC::LOL...I love it. He's so introverted. MoogerMint Shiriko: *scratches his head, trying to figure out how to get Lysander to open up* How's the drawing going? It's a nice time of day, huh? I especially like it durimg the nighttime, when the sky is clear and you can see the moon.Yeah, the poor guy. Reminds me almost of how I used to be. sweatdrop Man, I'm not used to roleplaying this way, but it keeps me from writing too much. XD Coyotes Cry Lysander took a quick sideways glance at Shiriko before answering. "Yeah...it's pretty." He turned a page in his sketchbook and quickly started to sketch Shiriko as he looked up at the moon. He rarely ever got the chanc to draw people. He hoped Shiriko wouldn't notice Lysander sketching him that would be too embarrasing.OOC: I'm glade you said that. Now I won't feel bad about changing it up. MoogerMint Shiriko's ears twitched to the sound of Lysander turning the page, but figured that maybe it was because he had messed up on the previous page. He had no right to question either way, as he was no artist himself. He grumbled as he tried to think of something else to say, staring off into space for a bit. "What kinds of things do you like to do normally, Lysander?" Shiriko piped up again after a brief pause.(( Heh, you too? Cool then! XD )) Coyotes Cry "uh...draw...paint...sculpt..." He listed off the things he did on a daily basis. It was a sad list and he knew it. On the bright side his picture of Shiriko was getting pretty good. He began to work on shading everything. The moon, the sky, Shiriko. He smiled to himself as he was it coming along.((BTW this is Lysander)) MoogerMint "Oh, wow... I'd love to see some of your work sometime!" Shiriko chirped with a grin. His tail waved from side-to-side, pleased with how the conversation was going, even if there weren't many words exchanged. "I'm not too good at much of anything like that myself, so I guess I just like to see where others' imaginations take them. I can only go to where others take me through pictures, objects, or books, after all," he explained without question, nodding. It was true he had quite the imagination himself, but he found no good way of expressing anything.(( Ahh, thank you! I was just going to ask for that! ^.^; )) Coyotes Cry "You'll find a a way..." Lysander somewhat burted out without thinking. He quickly realized he had spoken and returned to his sketch book. "to...uh...Express yourself...I mean." Lysander couldn't help, but feel idiotic as he spoke. He was sure he sounded like an idiot. MoogerMint Shiriko glanced at Lysander, surprise on his face before melting into a wide smile. "Thank you! I sure hope I can! It would really be a shame if I couldn't, you know?" he said, nodding. He didn't want the fox to feel embarrassed over what he said, so tried to make his voice as inviting as possible. After all, this is what he wanted him to do; it was progress! "Maybe I could try poetry... I remember wanting to a while ago, but it completely slipped my mind," he continued, looking back up at the moon. This space between him and Lysander was getting to him, as he wasn't used to there being one, but he didn't want to disturb the fox's inspiration.(( I'm gonna have to head off in a half an hour, just a heads up. That's my curfew. ^.^ )) Coyotes Cry "Sweet winter nights gleam beautifully bright like the pale moonlight" Lysander seemed to blurt out as he finished his work on the drawing. He held it from himself and gave it a good look. He hadn't even noticed that he just said a poem out loud. Poetry had been a secret passion of his that no one new of. He signed his name on the lower right hand corner of the piece. It was done.((Thats cool...I'll be heading to bed at the same time actually.)) MoogerMint Shiriko's ears twitched to Lysander's words, amazement written on his face. So he was a poet as well? "That was great! You string words together so well, and it really fits the scenery," he appraised. "I hope one day I can do that. Maybe you could teach me?" he asked, watching the fox hold up his sketching pad. "You done? Can I have a look?" he asked. It wasn't prying, like he was afraid it might sound like, but more that of curiosity.(( Okay, then that's good! I'll try to get on tomorrow as well so we can continue. 3nodding All depends on my homework situation, but I should be able to come on. )) Coyotes Cry Lysander blushed a bit at Shiriko's words of praise and smiled at him somewhat warmly. He turned down to his sketch book. He then started to gently tare the paper from the binding and once that was done he walked up to Shiriko and handed it to him. "For you..." He backed away cautiously. "I have to go...G'night." He turned and left rather quickly. The picture he gave Shiriko's was the one of Shiriko looking up at the moon. Even though it was a sketch it was shaded nicely and very well done. He signed his name on the lower right hand corner, Lysander Lyre.((Last post for Lysander!))

..: Journal Entry #002 :..
It was another all-nighter that Shiriko was facing, but one not borne of sadness and despair. It had been much too long since something like this had happened, so long since he had really smiled, it was a welcome escape from his loneliness. Not only that, but he had made another friend!
Lately, he had beginning to think he had lost that aspect in his life, as friends were starting to be a thing that came by once in a blue moon. The appearance of Lysander changed that train of thinking almost completely around in only a single night, and really picked up the lion's spirits. Something like this he had to save, to preserve the memories so that maybe, if he got lonely again, he could look back through the pages and reread the entry, and perhaps it would comfort him. This was the reason he had started the journal in the first pace, after all.
Entry 2:
It's been a while since I had gone out, it had been becoming a thing of the past. You don't know how relieved I am to know that wasn't true... and I'm glad it happened on a day like today!
I met someone, Lysander, and although he didn't talk much and was really nervous, he was a great person. I mean, you know someone leaves an impression on you when they make you rethink what you want to do with your life, and that's just what he did. And in such a mild manner, too!
He was a jack-of-all-trades, even if it was only in artistic ability, but unlike most he was really good at what he did and not just average. It really inspired me t otry something like that, even though I know I'm not good at much of it. I know drawing and painting isn't in my future, but writing and poetry might be, something I hadn't tried yet. Wouldn't you believe my surprise when I found out Lysander was good at those things, too!
I really hope I can see him again. I had fun, and he even gave me something to remember the occasion, making it seem all the more special. Now I just gotta find more time to get out...
~ Shiriko
He read through the words once more, making sure he didn't make a mistake anywhere before closing the notebook and setting it aside. He had found an old frame in storage and placed the drawing Lysander had done that night on his nightstand, alwys close at hand.

..: Breaking Barriers :.. Posted from page 674, in-shop Coyotes Cry The sun was beginning to set and the sky filled with warm colors. Lysander took in the cool air and gave it warmth. Had he known how beautiful the sunset would be he would have bought some colored pencils or paints with him. Instead he just had his normal sketchbook and a pencil. Perhaps, he would work on poem. The sunset was pretty inspiring. Now how would he start? MoogerMint Shiriko wandered into the park area with a slight bounce in his step. The sky made him feel unusually relieved inside, one of the only times of the day he could be out with the sun and not have much trouble.
Coming along the trail, he spotted a familiar figure in the light of the setting sun, a grin setting itself on his features. He didn't want to startle him, so he stayed where he was standing a little ways off and called to him, "Lysander! Hey! I didn't think I'd see you here!" He noticed that the colorful fox had his gaze on the sky and looked to it as well, loving the colors. "Yeah, that's a beautiful sight. I love this time of day," he sighed, slouching slightly as he rocked back-and-forth on his heels. Coyotes Cry Lysander was startled at first to hear his name and almost ran off, but he soon recognized the young albino Lion. "Nice to see you again...Shiriko." He sat down on the bench again and gave Shiriko a slightly nervous smile. MoogerMint Shiriko blinked, feeling bad that he had startled his previous acquaintance but happy when he recovered from the initial shock. "Sorry, I was trying not to scare you," he apologized, rubbing his head. "I'm glad to hear you're happy to see me! I didn't want to make a bad impression on you," he laughed as he moved over to the bench, leaning on the back instead of sitting down; he didn't want to do so unless he was invited. "Oh! I didn't get time to yesterday, but I wanted to thank you for the picture you gave me yesterday! It was really good!" he said with a grin. Coyotes Cry "oh...uh, thanks." He seemed to blush a bit as he looked downat the ground. He felt like he should say something, but he didn't know what to say. Without really giving it much thought he scooted over to one side of the bench to give Shirikp room to sit. He was still trying to think of something to say, but he couldn't think of anything.
It was getting a little darker out, but the sun still hung low in the sky. MoogerMint Seeing Lysander move over for him, he replied with a, "Thank you!" and took a seat. His elbows rested on his thighs right above his knees and his arms crossed, he stared out at the setting sun and all the colors in the sky. There was a moment of silence that followed before Shiriko realized that Lysander was having trouble keeping the conversation going, and he happily interjected. "You wanted to see some koi fish, right? I can show you a place that I love to visit to look at them. It's not far!" he offered. Coyotes Cry Lysander looked over at Shiriko with a look of surpirse. He had forgotten about the Koi fish. "ok." He nodded smiling nervously. He was clutching his pad tightly against his side almost as if he were nervous. Why should he be? Shiriko had been very kind to him. He loosened up a little as he waited for Shiriko to lead the way. MoogerMint "Cool!" Shiriko chirped up, standing up with a graceful roll off the bench. He held his hand out to the fox invitingly, but seeing him grip his sketchbook nervously made him think twice. Instead, he waved it as if to pull him up with a gesture to 'come here,' saying, "You'll love it, I'm sure of it! You can even feed them if you want; I brought some fish food with me!" Just had to put one foot in front of the other... Coyotes Cry Lysander watched what he thought was Shiriko offering his hand, but then it was changed to a "come on" guesture. Lysander couldn't help, but feel bad about the way he had treated Shiriko. The lion boy had been nothing, but kind to him. He wished there was something he could do to return the favor.
Lysander followed Shiriko ever step of the way. It had gotten a little darker and soon the sun would be gone. MoogerMint Shiriko looked to the sky as the shadows grew longer and larger, noticing that the sun was just barely peeking over the horizon. "That late already? Well then we'd better make this quick. Sorry about that," he apologized, not realizing how late it had been.
As they approached the koi pond, Shiriko put his index finger to his lips without a sound and motioned for Lysander to follow his steps. As their reflections shown on the pond's surface the koi fish sped quickly away before realizing that it was only people. "They get jumpy when it gets dark. You know, predators and all, though they're so big and are taken care of so well there's not much to fear," he explained with a chuckle, pulling out a container of fish food. Opening the lid, he offered the pellets to Lysander. "All you have to do is sprinkle it on the water, or you can hold your hand just under the water where the fish can reach the food from your fingers. They tickle when they do that, and are very friendly!" Coyotes Cry Lysander stared down at the fish before him. They were incredibly beautiful. He took the fish food Shiriko gave him, rolled up his sleeve, and held the food under water. It didn't take long for the Koi to find the food and they were soon eating out of his hand. He smiled at this. It was a very warm smile and yet it was still gentle. It was so peacful there. He didn't feel nervous or scared. Even though it was getting late and the sun was almost gone.
The fish finished there feast and Lysander pulled his hand out of the water. "Thank you, Shiriko." He stared at the albino lion with the same gentle eyes. MoogerMint If Shiriko had been a dog, his tail would have been wagging at the happiness that was displayed on Lysander's face. His eyes showed his calmed state, a side of Lysander that Shiriko had never seen before. "I like it better when you smile like that. It really brings out your personality," Shiriko commented, smiling widely. "It seems like the koi like it just as much, too!" he added as he dipped his own hand just under the surface for the fish to gobble down. When they were finished, the lion-boy slid his fingers across the closest koi's body gently, loving the feel of it. "We should do this again some time, but right now I must leave," he said as he rose to his feet, the light of the sun almost completely gone. "I hope to see you soon, Ly!" he said, giving the colorful fox one more smile before heading off.

..: Journal Entry #003 :..
Shiriko walked into his room humming a rather cheerful tune, his tail waving from side-to-side as he swayed it to the music in his head. He carried a glass of water in with him, setting it on the counter beside his bed as he snatched up his leather-bound journal and blue pen in its stead and relaxed himself down onto his bed.
Entry 3:
Although it was at the very end of the day, I had met up with Ly again! I didn't think I'd see him again, seeing as I haven't had much luck with meeting more than once with someone, but maybe this could be a sign of change in my future? I sure hope so!
I took him to see the koi fish in one of my favorite areas of the park, and he really seemed to take a liking to them! He seemed kinda nervous at first, but he's the cautious kind that doesn't just jump into things, so it's completely understandable. In fact, sometimes I wish I were more like that, then maybe I wouldn't get myself into so much trouble.
He had to leave soon after, as it was getting late and it was a weekday, but at least I got to see him again. Maybe fate will shine a light on me again and we can see each other once more. I'd really like to get to know him, after all!
~ Shiriko
He glanced at the clock as he quickly tried to finish up his entry. The sun was just about to peek over the horizon, and Shiriko wanted to get to sleep before then. Oh well... it might take longer, but he hoped he could get a decent sleep, even with the blazing sun in the sky.

..: Chrome and Paint :..Started in guild thread and continued on pages 785 to 822, in-shop MoogerMint Shiriko found himself traversing down a part of town he didn't visit too often, a path laden with a variety of flowers, many with new buds signaling the beginning of summer. The air was fresh with a pleasant scent yet slightly chilly without the sun in the sky. The perfect time of day for Shiriko to be out, yet still slightly depressing with the darkness washing out the flowers. Soon, though, the moon would be high in the sky, and the albino lion wouldn't have to worry.
It had been about a month since the last time he had been out, perhaps longer, which was a statistic that he highly disliked. He had been hoping to get out sooner, perhaps meet up with people and have a little fun, but he had been too busy trying to keep the small home he lived in from going under. As one who couldn't be out during the daylight hours very easily, it was difficult for Shiriko to find a job. Luckily there were a few 24-hour stores out there...
He had wished, more than ever, he could've done something for his birthday, but he tried to shrug it off as not a big deal. At least he was out now, right? He sighed, glancing up to see the moon rising. This was a very familiar scene, if the moon had been higher. He still kept the sketch Lysander drew of him from the first night they met, as it was the only gift he had ever received from anyone. He snorted, making his way to the grassy area next to the garden, feeling his legs getting tired. Coyotes Cry It was not unusual to see Lysander sketching in the gardens at this time. He typically finishes work and within an hour he's there. The only reason was all the interesting plants. Plants were often very detailed and demanded a lot of concentration and skill. It was the type of daily challenge Lysander enjoyed. He just sat on the grass drawing detailed close up of a rose bush. He didn't notice anyone around him. MoogerMint Shiriko realized with a start the brightly-colored fox in the area he was heading towards. What a stroke of luck! There was someone out here! A wide grin plastered on his face he came closer, only to realize that the fox was sketching something out. By the way he kept looking at the roses before turning back to his tablet Shiriko knew what it was he was drawing, but he didn't want to startle him into messing up. Instead, Shiriko just meandered on over, without a faltering step, and sat beside his friend. He'd notice him there, if he didn't hear him coming.
The lion kept a slight distance between two so that Lysander wouldn't feel like Shiriko was looking over his shoulder. He was content to sit there until he was noticed, as he knew that if he had spoken first he may make the fox slip up. Instead, he turned to the garden in front of them, looking at the wide array on display. It was amazing how few were damaged, considering all the kids about nowadays. Coyotes Cry Lysander soon finished his sketch. It was as realistic as it always was and, after examining it over and over, Lysander finally felt content enough to move on to the next page of his sketchbook. He turned around and was surprised to see Shiriko sitting next to him. He was alomst started enough to drop his book, but managed to clutch onto it tightly.
"S-sh-Shiriko...I didn't see you.." He spoke. He started to calm down somewhat MoogerMint Shiriko turned to Lysander as he spoke to him and smiled, trying to calm him down. "Don't worry, I didn't want to bug you when you were working on that!" he said quickly, indicating the fox's sketchbook. "You seemed engrossed, and I didn't want to distract you. It's be a shame to ruin any roll you were on with it, so I wanted to wait until you were done," he continued, waving a hand as if to try to dismiss any awkwardness in the situation.
Moving to make himself more comfortable, bracing himself as he leaned forward on his arms, palms rooted to the grass. His tail waved back and forth in his contentment, and let a brief spell of silence wash over them so that Lysander could regain his bearings. Afterward, he asked, "Are you always out so late? It's been a while since we've spoken!" Coyotes Cry "I come here after work." Lysander spoke rather quickly. He was still surprised, but he managed to settle down a little quicker than he had at their first few meetings.
He sat infront of Shiriko with a gentle smile on his face. "thank you, Shiriko. It was very kind of you to wait for me to finish..." He blushed a bit and looked down at his notebook.
"Would you like to see them?" He asked looking back at the lion.and offering him the leather bound notebook.
The sun had gotten lower in the sky. Sunset was upon them, but Lysander failed to notice it. MoogerMint "Oh, do you?" Shiriko pondered, a little surprised he had never noticed before. Though... he didn't go into the garden much. "I didn't know that. Guess I'll have to stop by more often then, hmm?" he said with a laugh. He liked the company of the fox, and was happy to note that he was opening up more to Shiriko.
As Lysander thanked him, Shiriko turned and smiled. He hadn't smiled in a while, so it had felt weird at first, but it came naturally. "No problem! I like the silence as much as I do talking with you, so it was no big deal. I don't get out much, so it's just nice being out here," he explained, not noticing the blush on Lysander's face right away due to the color that was already there.
As his friend offered for him to see what he had drawn, Shiriko found himself a bit speechless. "Y-You sure? I'd love to!" he exclaimed. Last time he had let him see a picture he drew, he had to promptly leave after, leaving Shiriko to glance over it without him there. If he was letting him see it now, while he was here, did that mean he trusted him more? Either way, Shiriko gladly took the notebook, looking through the pictures with a wide smile plastered on his face. "Wow... Ly, these are really good! How long does it take you to do a picture, normally?" If he had tried to do it himself, it would take him days just to get one thing right on it. Coyotes Cry Lysander stood up and brushed the dirt off his knees. He was feeling much more relaxed now. Perhaps it was because he was getting used to Shiriko. Shiriko was very gentle and kind. He didn't seem like someone to be feared.
"It doesn't take me very long. Only fifteen minuets on a good day." He watched the sun setting as he spoke. He loved to watch the sun set. It was the only time where he could see so many beautiful colors in the sky.
"Why don't you go out much?" Lysander was surprised and even embarressed to have broken the silence. He immediatly wished he haddn't. He barely knew Shiriko. He shouldn't be prying into his life. MoogerMint Shiriko rose his head as Lysander stood, wondering if he was going to go somewhere or if he just needed to stretch his legs. He could see it in his eyes that he wasn't as frightened as the other times they had spoken, and that really made the lion feel glad. He was hoping he hadn't been repelling the fox!
"Oh, really?" he asked as Ly answered. "That's amazing!" he commented as he looked back down to the pages. It looked as though it would've taken much longer, but that was probably because Shiriko had no artistic talent. "You are really good, Ly!"
He closed the book before he went spouting off on how good it was anymore, as he didn't want to embarrass the fox. He knew that people got that way when you would praise them too much, and he didn't want to scare him off! But he had asked him a question as he was handing it back, and even though it made him slightly nervous to answer it, he was glad that Lysander was interested in him. There was a slight pause as he moved himself into a more comfortable position, but he eventually replied. "Well, I don't usually have time at night, because I have a job that keeps me from free time. I need it to keep my home. And I can't go around in the daytime..." he explained, holding out an arm and pulling up the sleeve. Being an albino kept him from enjoying the sun, and he hated being so sensitive to it. Coyotes Cry "thank you..." Lysander said as he recieved his compliments from Shiriko. He wasn't used to being praised so highly so he didn't show too much reaction. He did look Shiriko's way when shiriko told him why he didn't go out much. He felt bad for bringing it up. It was obvious by how long it took shiriko to answer that the subject was somewhat painful.
"I'm sorry, I had no idea your albino skin was so limiting..." He looked him in the eyes for a moment. One could see compassion reflected in Lysander's eyes. He suffered in a similar way because of his shy nature. He pulled away from the look quickly and focused on the sunset again. He didn't want to make Shiriko feel worse by pitying him too much. MoogerMint "Don't worry about it," Shiriko said quickly, not wanting Lysander to feel bad. "It's nice to have someone interested in my life; it's a nice change from nobody caring, you know?" He laughed, trying to brighten the mood. "Not many people know what it's like to have limits like other people. The sun burns me easily and I have a hard time seeing in it, but I have it a lot better off than some people. I'm sure you have your own problems as well, right? Some things I probably couldn't imagine. But if you keep looking on the bright side of things, well, it doesn't seem as bad."
He fidgeted slightly as he realized how much he had spoken and laughed. "Sorry about that. I've probably talked your ear off," he apologized, hoping he didn't make Lysander nervous. He had a lot to say on some matters, even more so when trying not to scare someone off from him, even if he was afraid that he may scare them off from the explanation alone. However, the fox's gaze showed him something else, something he didn't expect, before he had looked away. He smiled, though; maybe he was touching upon something? He hoped so...
He followed Lysander's gaze over to the sunset. It still hurt his eyes slightly, even though the sun was behind the horizon, but the sky burned so brilliantly he could tell why Lysander kept looking at it. "Gorgeous, isn't it?" he murmured, crossing his arms over his knees and leaning his head on top. He was comfortable here, and he was glad it was still early enough to see the last bit of sun. He didn't know how long Lysander would be able to stay in the dark with him, but the moon should be bright enough tonight to brighten the sky when it rose. Coyotes Cry "It is beautiful..." He sat back down next to Shiriko. He wasn't sure what to say. The first thing that came to mind was Shiriko's condition. "Does it hurt?...I mean right now..." He turned his head to the side and looked at the lion. He may have been white, but in the sunset the lion's fur seemed to refelct the many colors around him. Lysander stared at him for a moment longer . He was getting lost in all the colors.
He bent his let legs and flopped his tail to the opposite side. He got lost in things so easily sometimes. Perhaps, it was because things were easier to deal with than people. Except this time he wasn't dealing with a thing. MoogerMint "Hard to believe that the sky isn't on fire when it's like that," Shiriko mused as he looked at the sunset. The rest of the sky was turning pink and purple now, but there was still some blue left. It reminded the lion of someone brushing layers of watercolor paints onto a palette at random.
He barely even noticed as Lysander came to sit back down next to him until the fox had asked him a question. "Oh? Umm, just a little. It's not a big deal though; this is nothing compared to daytime," he said with a smile. "Besides, it's worth it to be out now. I don't usually get to see the sunset except during the summer, when daytime lasts longer." It could be hard sometimes, but this was the reason why he looked forward to summer. If it wasn't for the sunsets being within his grasp, he would probably despise summertime.
He felt this was a large improvement; Lysander had never really opted to strike up a conversation, and Shiriko was intent on keeping it going. "Do you have any favorite flowers? I mean, there are so many around here," he asked, looking around the gardens. It had been a while since he had been here last, and there were so many new kinds around here! Coyotes Cry Shiriko's question broke him out of his color trance. He turned his attention back to the sunset and thought about the question. He liked so many kinds of flowers it was hard to think or just one.
"I guess...If I had to pick...I'd say I like lilies..." He smiled thinking about them. "they have a simple elegance...But I also like morning glories...blue ones..."
He felt bad now. He shouldn't have mentioned the morning glories. Shiriko would never be able to see them. They only bloomed in the sunlight.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned the morning glories..." He looked down at the grass with a guilty look on his face. MoogerMint Shiriko watched as Lysander thought about the answer to his question and smiled, glad it wasn't just a quick answer that could be over and done with. He liked talking with Ly, but it sometimes could be difficult to come up with new subjects to talk about.
"Ahh, lilies are very pretty," Shiriko commented, leaning back. There weren't any in this area of the garden, but he couldn't be sure about the rest of it. He hadn't seen a lily in a while! But then Lysander caught himself on the last part of his answer, and it was visible how much he shrank back.
"Morning glories?" he asked as he turned, trying to get rid of Ly's doubt with a gentle smile. "Oh, it's okay! I can go out during the day, just usually not for long, especially in the shade. I wrap myself in a blanket I have, and it keeps me safe from the light for a while. Maybe you can show me some sometime?" He had been out in the sun before, he just never really had a reason to do so. Because of this, he had never actually seen a morning glory, but had the ability to do so. "Don't feel bad about it, I'm not completely helpless!" he laughed, trying to brighten the mood. Coyotes Cry Lysander smiled and started to feel more at ease. He's worries about making Shiriko feel bad were gone. He miled brightly at the thought of showing Shiriko morning glories.
"I'd be happy to show you morning glories sometime." He smiled gently and then his smile widened as he got a new idea. "Actaully, I may not be able to show you morning glories, but it's the perfect time to catch something else." He stood up. By his actions it was obvious that he wanted to take somewhere. MoogerMint Shiriko was glad to see it when Lysander relaxed, hoping he could keep the fox feeling that way. Now he just had to figure out how to do so...
However, Ly had other things in mind, and Shiriko found himself feeling a little surprised when he decided to take the initiative. What did he have in mind? He couldn't think of what he could be thinking, but he wasn't hesitant on figuring it out! He rolled onto his hip before hopping up, brushing his pants free of any dirt or grass that may have stayed behind (even though on black pants it was hardly noticeable) before smiling to Lysander. "Whatever it is, I'm up for it!" he chirped, ready to follow. Coyotes Cry Lysander led the Shiriko deeper into the gardens. They passed by several interesting looking flowers, but none of them seemed to be of any interest to Lysander. Finally he made it to the fences that separate the gradens form the rest of the city. The fences were covered in vines and on the vines were buds. only one was open. It was a beautiful large white flower. Lysander pointed it out.
"It's a moon flower...it only blooms at night...and it only blooms once. Tommorrow morning it'll fall off the vine and die...but right now it's at the peek of it's beauty."
Lysander looked back at Shiriko. He wanted to see his reaction to the flower. He wanted to know if he liked it.((So you could see it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ipomoea.imperati1web.jpg a moonflower)) MoogerMint As Shiriko followed he couldn't help but wonder what it was that Lysander wanted to show him. He hadn't a clue what to expect, but he knew it must be good. After all, the fox didn't take the initiative much any other time, and it made Shiriko eager to see what it was going to be. He had a wide smile plastered on his face that he was unable to hide, but why would he want to? Why not show the world he was happy? It was about time he started living his life!
As they stopped near the fence (though with all the vines around it it looked more like a wall of plants), Shiriko looked back, wondering if he meant to lead him to a dead end. However, when Lysander pointed out the flowers that covered it, only a single bloom present at the time, Shiriko immediately realized why he had brought him here. "Oh wow..." he breathed; he had missed the bloom the first time he had looked at the vines!
Moving in closer, he wanted to get a better look at the flower before the sun completely disappeared over the horizon. It would be dark for a few minutes, perhaps even up to a couple hours, before the moon rose to light everything up again, so he wanted to get a good look before they lost the light for the moment. "It must glow in the moonlight!" he said, finding the white of the flower the most pure color he had ever seen.
As Lysander explained it in further detail, Shiriko turned, looking almost sad for it but still extremely happy. "Only once a year? Wow... So then we were really lucky to see them tonight, weren't we?" he said, smile growing wide. "They're amazing, Ly! Thank you for showing me! Could we, maybe, stay here until the moon comes up? I'd love to see them in the moonlight," he asked, turning back to study the delicate flower. Coyotes Cry Lysander smiled. He was satisfied with Shiriko's reaction. The lion never seemed to disappoint him. He enjoyed that. He enjoyed having someone who related to him and liked the same things as he did. He nodded in agreement to stay until the moon was high in the sky. Lysander liked it here and he was sure the flower would look beautiful in the moonlight.
"Actually, Moonflowers bloom all season long, but they only bloom one time...This flower, "He pointed to it again, "It will die come morning, but the other buds have yet to bloom..."
He sat down infront of the fence and examined the flower again. "It's sad really..." He cossed his legs and sat indian style. " They are most beautiful only right before they die." His ears went down. He wondered about the life of a moonflower. He wondered about how the flower would feel if it could feel. The sun was almost gone now. Soon all they would have is the moon. MoogerMint He was glad to know that Lysander could stay until nightfall, but he had to wonder whether or not he was keeping him from something. Ly usually had to leave before the sun was completely gone, at least the other two times they had met, but that was before summer had started. Either way, he figured he should ask, if only to be sure. "Hey, you don't have to be anywhere, do you? I don't want to keep you if you do," he asked, though hoping he really could stay.
As Lysander continued to describe the flowers, Shiriko turned back to the flower that had bloomed this evening, crouching down so that he could be around Ly's own eye level. "Well, that's good! It would be pretty disappointing if they all bloomed on the same day and you couldn't get away to see them," he said as he studied it.
At the solemn tone in the fox's voice, Shiriko turned to him. It was true, it was sad to think about. He knew some insects were like that as well, though they usually lived for at least a week at a time. "Yeah..." he murred quietly, wondering what he could say to cheer him up. It was difficult, though, as what could one say to make the situation better? "I'm sure they make every moment of their life count," he tried, but knew it probably wasn't a good enough reply. Coyotes Cry "No, I don't have work tomorrow so I can stay out late." He said. Even if he had work tomorrow he would have probably stayed. He was enjoying himself here. He rarely ever hung out with anyone and, when he did, it wasn't for very long. It was nice to have someone else to talk to. It got really lonely when he was all by himself.
He listened to Shiriko talk about the flower. Did he make every moment of his life count. Lysander put his head down and thought about it for a minuet. If he were to die would he die without regrets? Would he die satisfied with what he did with his life? It was hard for him to think about it because he was sure he wouldn't be satisfied. His ears stood down as he thought. MoogerMint "Oh, really? That's good!" Shiriko perked up, happy he wasn't keeping his friend from anything. He should've known, as it was a weekend, but he didn't know if he wanted to get to sleep at a particular time, or if he had anything planned to do tonight or tomorrow. After all, it was better to be safe than sorry!
Shiriko watched as Ly lowered his head in thought. Did he say something bad? That probably hadn't have been the best thing to say, but he figured that life as a flower had less to worry about, whereas the life they had to live was much more difficult. It was a lot harder to make a living, and doing what you wanted could sometimes seem impossible. After all, Shiriko knew this all too well, and found himself regretting not being able to live the way he wanted almost constantly.
However, when he was out with friends, even though he had very few, he was happy; all those worries didn't seem to matter. He hoped that Lysander would be able to see it with that optimistic outlook he felt now, and not the pessimistic one Shiriko felt alone. "Ly, don't worry about it. Moonflowers probably don't live long enough to have any of the worries we usually feel. They live their life without all that that keeps us back in life. All-in-all, even if they live shorter, they have it easier in that respect," he explained, hoping he didn't make the situation worse. Coyotes Cry Lysander shook his head. He was trying to shake the bad thoughts out, "Your right...our lives are much more complex..." He forced himself to perk up. His ears rose and he smiled kindly at Shiriko.
He shouldn't be feeling sad now that he was with a friend. He should be happy to be spending time with someone. It had been so long since he last spent time with anyone.
The sun set and now the moon was starting to light the night sky. Lysander looked up at the moonflower. It seemed to glow beautifully in the pale moonlight. Lysander smiled brightly. It was the moonflowers one night and he was sure it was enjoying every minuet of it. MoogerMint Shiriko smiled back; he wanted to keep that smile on Lysander's face! He might have to work a little at it, but he was determined to do so. Ly seemed to really need a day he could enjoy, but since Shiriko really couldn't help with that, he hoped a night would suffice. At least he seemed to be enjoying himself now, and that was what mattered.
All in all, it really seemed to help Shiriko as well. His mind was always preoccupied on himself as of late, especially since it had been difficult to make friends when his only time into the real world was during the nighttime hours. Now that he was actually with someone he could enjoy the company of, he found he could keep his mind on Ly instead of his own personal problems, and that was an improvement.
It was pitch black out for a couple moments, making Shiriko wonder if he should go get a flashlight from somewhere. Although he loved the dark, he wasn't positive about how Lysander felt about it. However, the moon followed shortly behind the setting sun, so his worries were quickly put to rest. Besides, Ly didn't seem to be bothered by the darkness, which was a good thing.
His eyes turned back to the moonflower, and he gasped as the flower seemed to open up further, soaking in the hazy light. It was true, the flower did seem to glow in the moonlight, taking on an almost eerie beauty, like a ghost. "It's gorgeous..," he breathed, almost awestruck by it. He couldn't wait to see the other flowers bloom just as beautifully as this one, but then again in a way he could, as he knew it would be their only time to shine.
"Hey, Ly, I bet you could really capture what the moonflower is all about," Shiriko stated, tapping at the fox's sketchpad. "I've seen it; you're really good at capturing not only the sight of things, but the feeling of it." He flashed a large, slightly goofy grin. He meant it! Coyotes Cry Lysander was surprised by Shiriko's actions, But, after a moment, he took the sketchbook. He didn't want to disappoint his new friend so he turned to a fresh page and started sketching. Within seconds he was completely engrossed in his work. His pencil moved almost madly. He seemed like a completly differen't person when he drew. He seemed confident and bold. Perhaps this was the Lysander that was hidden under his shy exterior.
Within a few minuets he had all the major shapes. In a few more minuets he had shadows and a few minuets later he was adding the detail. He was almost finished. He looked over his work and examined the flower. He wanted to make sure it looked exactly how he saw it. The sketch captured the flower in all it's beauty despite the lack of color. MoogerMint Shiriko was glad he didn't sound as if he were pushing Lysander into drawing the flower, but he was worried about it. Although once he got started, Shiriko could really see the concentration and effort he put into his pictures. It was almost as if he were looking at a different person drawing next to him instead of Lysander; it was an incredible change!
Shiriko kept his distance, knowing it was rude to look over an artist's shoulder without consent. He didn't want to mess him up! Instead, he turned back to the moonflower and studied it himself, turning his head to look at it in different angles. It sure was a strange bloom... he had never heard of a flower living such a short amount of time! He had heard of some living about a week and thinking that was short, but a day? And yet it seemed to be perfect, as if it could stay in stasis like this, untouched and pristine, for a good long while. How interesting... he thought, examining the gold-touched middle.
As he turned back to Lysander, he realized how quickly he was moving his hand as he drew. Does he do this with all his pictures..? he asked, still in awe over the fact. He was so good, so detailed, the images he drew looked as if they would take much longer! He snorted to himself, shows how much I know about art... He would try, however; after all, he had already been inspired to try poetry at their first meeting, and had since then been studying written works. Coyotes Cry Lysander finished his drawing. He examined it once more before offering it to Shiriko so he could take a look. It was increbdily detailed for a pencil drawing. He took a few moments to examine Shriko's face. He enjoyed watching Shiriko smile. He had the brightest smile when he was excited about something. Lysander had noticed it many times tonight. It seemed as though he and Shiriko had become good friends this night. MoogerMint Shiriko flinched his head back up immediately as he was offered the notebook, taking it eagerly and glancing over the image. It was incredible how well-done it was in such a short amount of time! There were even some details on it that Shiriko would have missed otherwise, and he took to glancing back and forth between the flower in front of them and the drawing. "Ly, you're amazing! This is so well-done... how do you do it?" he laughed, awe-struck once more. "I swear I can almost see the color on it!"
He kept looking it over for a couple minutes more before realizing how long he had had it in his possession and handed it back. "Is there anything you can't draw?" he asked, not really expecting an answer. "What other mediums do you work with?" he queried after a brief pause; he knew Lysander was good in a lot of different techniques and types of art, but he didn't know which ones in particular. Coyotes Cry He smiled happily. He was not disappointed by Shiriko's reaction. He blushed a bit at the complements, not that Shiriko could see it. He still wasn't used to being praised so highly. He looked away for a bit when Shiriko stopped talking and then their came the questions.
He though about what kinds of mediums he used when he was making art. He was able to point out one that he really hadn't experimented with at one point. "I guess I use them all. " He flicked his tail to the opposite side. He was wondering how late it was. It was true he wasn't concerned with the time. He was just curious. MoogerMint Shiriko blinked as he stared at Lysander briefly, surprised. "All of them!? Wow! That's amazing!" he gasped after a brief interval. As he thought about it, he hoped he didn't make the fox uncomfortable under his stare, but... wow! "You really are a jack-of-all-trades!" he laughed, rolling back to sit on the ground; his legs had been getting uncomfortable from crouching and he needed to stretch them out.
It was at times like this that he wished he could do something... meaningful. He had nothing interesting about himself to talk about like this, no real talents he really had. The only thing that really stood out about him was just the fact that he was an albino, and was usually seen at night. How boring.., he thought to himself with a sigh.
However, Lysander had brought that to his attention long before, and he had already resolved to do something about it. He had been reading more works of writing, mainly novels and poetry collections. He was determined to do something with his life! But what to write about? Coyotes Cry Lysander blushed a bit at the young lion's comments. He had never thought himself that good before. It was almost embarrasing. Shiriko really seemed to have a lot of faith him. It was also strange for Lysander to have someone think so much of him. Most of the time people thought very little of the art teacher. Shiriko wasn't like other people though. He seemed to understand Lysander.
Lysander watched him laugh and smiled happily. A gentle breeze tugged softly at his hair. Lysander closed his eyes and let himself fall back on the grass. He felt so comfortable. It could have been because of the enviroment he was in or because of Shiriko. It was probably a mix of both. MoogerMint Shiriko jumped as he heard Lysander hit the floor, turning suddenly with a wide-eyed expression. He was about to ask if the fox was okay, but held his tongue when he saw his friend's happy expression. The lion sighed with relief, snickering slightly at the predicament and just because he was glad that Lysander seemed to be having such a good time. "Is it comfy down there?" he asked, laughter still tinging his words as he followed suit, flopping on the grassy ground back-first beside Ly.
His eyes wandered to the sky, the light of the sun completely gone and replaced by the light of the few stars that appeared so early in the night. His plumed tail waved slightly as he lie there in silence for a few moments, just taking in the silence and the feeling of freedom. He felt restrained to nothing out here, as free as he could feel when still abiding to everyday life, and it was bliss.
"It really is beautiful out here," he stated, almost dreamily as he remained in his state of mind. "Only a few stars are out now, but soon, the entire sky will be filled with them." He sat in silence for a bit more before turning his head slightly away, eying the moonflower. "You know, each and every star is different in the sky, but when with so many others it's hard to distinguish one from the other. You don't really get to see the beauty in one individual star unless you really try," he stated. He was unsure what he was trying to get at, but the words just seemed to spout from him, and he knew they came from the heart. Coyotes Cry "Just like people..." Lysander said sleepily. Waking up early for work was not something that Lysander enjoyed. He hadn't even realized what he said at first. It was completely Automatic. He felt somewhat embarrased for not making any sense. He had to explain himself. "I mean the stars...They're like people...All differen't, but hard to distinguish from one another.." He turned his head to look at Shiriko. He hoped Shiriko would understand. He wanted him to understand. MoogerMint Shiriko turned to Lysander as he spoke, smile wide as he understood immediately. "Exactly!" he said with a slight nod, turning back up to the sky. "We're all like stars in the sky, but we're all very different. It's only when you really try that you notice this. It's fascinating, really. You could find so many things in common, it can be eerie. However, you can find the opposite just as easily!" he explained, propping his head up with arms crossed behind his head. "If you just look, everyone is beautiful in their own way. At least, that's what I believe." Coyotes Cry Lysander nodded and smiled at him sleepily. There was a silent pause after that. He knew he would have to leave soon. Lysander was starting to feel tired. He was fading fast and the grass was starting to feel too comfortable. He fought too keep his eyes open and finally he just sat up. He yawned a bit and felt sad, but he knew he would have to leave.
"I have to go..." Lysander said to Shiriko. He looked over at the Albino Lion and smiled gently. "Maybe...We can see each other again tomorrow..." Lysander felt a little embarrased saying this. He didn't understand why. It was normal for people to hang out with their friends. Why should he feel embarrased for wanting to do the same. He still couldn't help himself. He looked away from Shiriko. MoogerMint Shiriko followed suit to sit up, smiling weakly as he watched Lysander yawn and rise to his feet. It was inevitable, he knew it, and he instead altered his train of thought to how much fun they had that night rather than the fact that it was ending. "Hey, no problem! You need your rest, and that's nothing anyone has any real control over! We'll just have to set aside a day we can meet up with each other again, yes?" he said, his smile brightening.
As he rose himself, a little reluctant to get off from the floor, he offered, "Mind if I walk you home? I know the place pretty well at night, though I'm sure you do as well, huh?" he laughed, feeling a little awkward. Coyotes Cry Lysander nodded. "I wouldn't mind it if you walked me home.." He smiled brightly at the lion as they started on there way. He had his sketch book clutched tightly in his red hands. He wondered when he would be able to see Shiriko again. It had been a long time bettween their last two meetings and things seemed to be busy for the two of them. He didn't really want the night to end either, but falling alseep in a public park was not an option.
Lysander walked through the famliar streets of the town and eventually he came up to his building. It was strange as he got to the brick building. He didn't want to leave Shiriko, but he also really wanted to get to his apartment. "Well..." He sounded a little down as he said it, "We're here..." He smiled weakly at Shiriko as they stopped outside the building's main entrance. MoogerMint Shiriko was glad he hadn't made a complete fool of himself in front of his friend, though it seemed both of them were acting pretty easy-going tonight, so not much would deter them from each other. "Really?" he asked, beaming. "Alright then! Let's be off!"
Although he had wanted to be of more help getting to Ly's house, he had never been along the street they walked more than a handful of times, and usually only when he felt like taking the 'long way' home from work. Not to mention he had no idea what to look for in a home, so he found himself mostly following Lysander's steps. It wasn't bad, though, for at least they were still doing something together, and that was something.
It wasn't a far walk, and before he knew it he found himself disappointed when they came to the house. "It's nice!" he commented, looking around the front before turning eyes back to Ly. He was tempted to give the fox his phone number, but he had no way of knowing how long it would hold out before the phone company stopped its service, or even if he could make the payment. Guess they'd just have to do it the old-fashioned way if they wanted to make any plans... "Hey, how does next Saturday sound? Gives you time to rest up the rest of the weekend, for I'm sure I've kept you up long enough," he asked. He was eager to meet up with him again, and wanted it to be sooner than next week, but weekdays were torment and Friday afternoon may have been too late to see the daytime flowers Lysander offered to show him. Coyotes Cry " OK!" Lysander answered quickly and then stepped back as he blushed. He felt embarresed at his over eagerness. One might have seen him blush had not his fur been so red already, but he was happy. He couldn't remember the last time he had actually made plans with a friend.
"I'l see you then...Come by at any time..." He opened the front door. He looked back at Shiriko with a gentle smile on his face. "Well...G'night...Be careful on your way home..."MoogerMint Shiriko laughed, happy that Lysander seemed as eager as he was for next weekend. It was audibly a cheerful laugh, not one that someone might think he was looking down on someone; after all, he was in the same boat! In fact, he had never made plans like this before, and it made him feel truly alive, for once. Maybe this would get him out of being so self-secluding all the time, out of his depression, so he could really see what it was to be alive. At least, that's what he was hoping for!
"Alright, I will! I won't be by too early, because I can't seem to get up and about early, but I'll definitely be here!" he said matter-of-factly. "It's a date!" Of course, he didn't mean that part literally, but as he was walking home he had immediately thought of the impact of it. His face turned visibly scarlet as he walked down the deserted side streets back home, wondering if Lysander had taken it that way or not.
