Well, I got into the PS games when I was about 8 or so, so that was quite a while ago. My uncle went to Funcoland and bought PS 2 along with a game called Sword of Vermillion. I sat and watched him play for hours on end then. It wasn't until I rented PS 4 that I got hooked on them myself. I have the collection for the GBA and PSO 1&2 right now. I'm waiting on Universe so I can have 4 as well.

I got into Phantasy Star about eight years ago, when I rented Phantasy Star 4. It was my first RPG, and a good one at that; reasonable difficulty, colourful characters, and a system that is easy to get accustomed to.
One day, a short while after renting it for the first time, and again a few more times after that, I bought it at the video & game rental store near where I lived where they were selling their Genesis and SNES games for $9.99 each (Canadian). That was my lucky day, for it had become one of my favourite games of all time.
After completing the game for the first time, I suspected that all of what I now know are references to the previous games in the series were just that, and I made sure to find out as much as I could about the previous titles and eventually get my hands on them so that I could witness the full story, and also play as Lutz! mrgreen I still don't understand why they had to go and change his name to Noah. Would anyone happen to know why?

Mizerith I still don't understand why they had to go and change his name to Noah. Would anyone happen to know why? I'd imagine it's to make it more "localized" and seem more English than Japanese. Like how 4Kids changed the names of the characters from 'Tokyo Mew Mew' and 'Ojamajo Doremi' since they "thought that changing the names to more typical English names would make it easier for American audiences to identify with the characters". That was pretty much the mindset of most importers of anime and games from Japan until the late '90s.

i started out borrowing PS2 from my friend in junior high school, when i had got a sega for xmas... he never got it back, ^^ i still have it. i then got III and IV the next year for xmas. recently i bought a master system and PSI off ebay, and so im totally set. mrgreen i still cant get into PSO though, no matter how many times i try to play it
