demona66 this is simply because the dbu are overpowered who destroys the world by powering up? Wrong. I'm not even going to go in-depth about how biased that statement is.

Kamikazek-Z Miguel OHara 1. The animation sucks 2. The plot ain't great, either 3. There are way too many Gokuza morons running around 4. (Has a lot to do with #3) Superman vs. Goku - 'nuff said Your first two points have nothing to do with vx. threads what so ever. The third and fourth don't really make sense either. Just because they're a lot of idiots who overestimate the serie's characters to highly shouldn't affect your desision, nor does it affect the series itself. Just because a lot of people say Goku can beat Superman, who he can't, doesn't mean that Goku couldn't kick the crap out of Spiderman, who he could. Well, unless we're talking about Spidey with an insanely cheap power up, but that was just an example, you get the idea. I was trying to explain why I don't like the show. About #3 and 4 - they do affect my opinion of the series.

(Has a lot to do with #3) Superman vs. Goku - 'nuff said Saiyan Master Vegeta Number 1 proves nothing. And in the first place, before you judge the animation, you have to judge the manga. And the style of the manga is just as good as any other. Blame FUNimation if you have animation complaints. Don't blame the series itself. Number 2 is based off your opinion only. Again, it proves nothing. Number 3 has nothing to do with anything. Fans don't constitute how good or bad a series is. Judging a series off of fan action is hellishly biased. Number 4 is based off number 3, therefore it also has nothing to do with anything.

Dragon Ball does seem to have a lot of haters as of late...oh well. Deity likes it...favorite manga evar. =P He loves the art style, and developed his own (not so vaguely) around Toriyama's.... < <;; ::whistles::
...saying the DB characters are overpowered is hypocrisy; there are numerous other single comic/manga characters that could whomp any one DB character. That's a new one...an overpowered character getting beaten like a little girl.
Today, there isn't such a thing as an overpowered player in versus battles....it may take some looking, but there's always a stronger character. The only reason Deity can see behind people not showing any love for Dragon Ball is simply the fact that there really are just a lot of idiots and brats defending it when they know nothing of what they speak. Very much a 'Stop being on my side, you make us look stupid' situation....so, monkeys grow biased against it, even when the genuinely intelligent DB fan has a point.

However I do appreciate you pointing out that the degree is lesser.
Now
Superman can sneeze a Solar System out of existence.
(TECHNICALLY, Solar System refers to only OUR system...because our sun is called Sun, or Sol. And Solar is the naming of it, bc it is the centric/dominant star....yea...I've studied this a lot, for academic team at my school.)

Though I'm not condoning it, this issue should be forgotten before it escalates to a point where relationships between members of this guild are fractured beyond repair.

We're not savages here. If someone can't control themselves to the point of insult and over-anger, then they should not be in this thread. But I've only experienced such things very few times in the guild's history.
As for the purpose of this thread . . . I see exactly what Rikeen's point is, and it's not just an anger ventilation. As Jerhien said (or at least along the lines of): "It's fashionable to hate the popular kids", and Dragonball Z gives new meaning to that statement.
If you ask a random person in the A/M/C who Galactus or Thanos is, I'm willing to bet 9/10 people wouldn't know. However, 9/10 people will know what Dragonball Z is, and how supposedly "overpowered" they are, making it their prime reason to hate the show. Not to mention due to it's popularity which left a lasting impact. Yet they don't know about characters, such as the ones mentioned above, that highly outclass anyone from the DBU.

But take that same question to the CD forum and the exact opposite occurs, you can't claim total popularity of a character off of the A/M/C as it is ANIME BIASed to the extream.

I'm a fan of DBZ and it is still easier to make a Marvel or DC write up than it is to make a DBZ write up. Power fluctuates horribly in the DBZ Universe, most Comic Book Characters have been made more or less stable, mistakes still get made but for the most part people know what Spiderman, or even Superman can do.
Characters like Spiderman, Superman, Batman, Wolverine etc have a larger popularity base in most places, these comics are printed all over the world including Japan. (Spiderman is as popular in Japan as Goku is in the States)

Still . . . overall, people generally know Dragonball Z more than Galactus or Thanos. I'm not just referring to the A/M/C. Unlike other Marvel characters such as Spiderman, The Hulk, Iron Man, the X-Men etc . . . Galactus and Thanos never seemed to be as mainstream. Now don't get me wrong. They were known, but not nearly as much. Dragonball Z is like the mirror image of the comic mainstreams, except in anime form. Which is why people would generally say that they are way too overpowered, not knowing there are quite a few more characters out there that out-power them.
