Heh, sweet. That book's going to totally flip out and kill everyone in Barnes and Noble because somebody dropped a spoon in the cafe.

The Dragon Prince Trilogy by Melanie Rawn and the Dragon Star Trilogy by Melanie Rawn.

Simply my favorite fantasy books ever. All told it has well over 3000 pages of pure wonder. It defines a political, militaristic, and popular world. No detail goes unwritten. I estimate it has in the range of 25 main characters and 70 important ones outside of that. It is not for those who are weak of memory. It gets a sheepy 10 out of 10.

Oh and you guys should also check out a book called Snowcrash. I don't remember who it's by but it is wonderfully well written book. It artfully combines babylonian mythology and the future to make a rather creative sci-fi book. Oh, and the main character is called Hiro Protaginist

Only work I've read by Neal Stepenson was Cryptonomicon and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Likewise, I motion for it to be added to the list.

Office Space isn't a GREAT movie, but it is a good one. And it's sad just entirely how much of it rings true. I found myself nodding several times and saying, "Yep. I've worked with him. Yep, him too."

Sad to think that. :p

I never said that it was great, but I agree whole-heartedly about the truth of it.

the comunist manifesto (book)

Idunno, Soup. It's been my experience that the Comunist Manifesto has always been coffee-table material for arteests (ie, pretentious artists) more than tech-heads. I find we're more into things like UserFriendly and BOFH than Marx.
