Kaleb looked around a bit before glancing up at Tseng. "It doesn't seem very productive." Then he frowned a bit. "But the interactions are complicated. From what I've seen, lots of men are trying to either gain favor or influence others, and the older women seem to be collecting information."

"That's generally what happens at these parties." He smoothed out his jacket to just move his hands for a moment. "The men try to create business deals while their wives gather gossip to toss around later at whoever they decide is worth it tomorrow"

"It's kind of creepy." Kaleb admitted quietly. He overheard a loud and enthusiastic voice that he recognised as the first lady who had approached him, and he winced slightly.

"After years of it you get used to it." He shruged. Though before these events were far more dangers for Rufus now the Turks more stood around being bored than actually watching out for their boss.

Kaleb toyed with the sleeves of his jacket for a bit, looking around at the crowd. He thought that was one of the worst parts of the event, he was too short for good visibility. "I-if my job is just to heal, why did you bring me along?" He asked.

Kaleb shuddered involuntarily, at this point he knew more about what they did than he really wanted to. But he tried not to think about it. "I've been told more than once that I'm too small to be a Turk." He said with a slight frown, glancing in the direction of the group of women he had escaped from earlier.

"You know." He looked at Kaleb. "They told Reno he didn't have what it took either. Something about him being a whore and whatnot, and look at him. He fits in, mostly, perfectly"

Kaleb blinked, wondering if Tseng was hinting that it were possible for him to fit in too. He couldn't quite gather up the courage to ask about it though. He hadn't really wanted the job in the first place, but even so there was a part of him that wanted to prove those women wrong.

Kaleb sighed a little. "While I was there, they didn't talk much about anything I wouldn't know by simply looking in a mirror." Aside from the crowds, that was another thing he realized he didn't like about the atmosphere, the conversation held no appeal to him.

Kaleb smiled, feeling like it was easier to talk to Tseng while he wasn't busy with administrative duties. He was somewhat relieved to know their apparent fascination with him was just due to novelty. Kaleb frowned a bit, that thought reminded him of something. "They said I must be Rufus' boy toy."

He chuckled. "That doesn't surprise me." He looked at Rufus. "He is known for finding pretty things."

Kaleb shook his head a bit. "I don't understand," he said in a confused tone, not making the connection that 'pretty things' in this context didn't really apply to inanimate objects.
