"That sounds like a good idea," Ais was quick to agree, nervous laughter coming from her as she maintained her balance - barely. "Better than the both of us making fools of ourselves, or, worse, getting hurt."

Kaleb nodded quickly, and carefully walked back over to the bench. Luckily the places he hadn't been sitting were dry, if a little cold, so he could pick up his book and reclaim his seat without worrying if there was room for Ais to sit as well. "Th-the sidewalks through the city weren't nearly as bad," he muttered with a timid smile.

Ais carefully followed after Kaleb and moved to take a seat once she was sure there was room for her, laughing softly in response to his words and idly rubbing at one eye - a nervous gesture. "Are they? I've never been in the city..."

Kaleb nodded. "They've already got salt all over the sidewalks." He kicked his feet a bit as he looked across the snowy park, smiling at the way it all glittered. "I like it better out here though, even with the ice."

"I think I would too. I have heard that the city is loud and crowded... I'm rather afraid of crowds... in fact, I didn't think I would like anyone," Ais said softly, chuckling quietly and admiring a snowy tree. "But you aren't a bad person at all... you're very nice."

Kaleb blushed very brightly at the compliment and adjusted his glasses. "I-I d-don't really like crowds either, but the city isn't that bad." He fidgeted a bit, but at this point it was more from the unexpected comment rather than Ais' presence as someone he wasn't familiar with.

Ais didn't seem to notice his awkwardness, humming quietly as she looked around the snowy park, finding it just too beautiful. "Perhaps some day I shall be brave enough to go there," she murmured, wiggling her toes a bit.

Although Kaleb would usually be inclined to go back to his reading, but this girl was friendly and it seemed easier for him to avoid getting really anxious. "It's not too far away, did you want to go walk through the city now?" He adjusted his glasses again, even though they were perfectly fine. "Th-there's not too many people out today, it's too cold and icy."

A surprised expression appeared on Ais's face and she turned her head quickly to look at Kaleb, blue eyes blinking several times. "You... wouldn't mind?" she asked, feeling silly immediately afterwards - if he minded, he wouldn't have offered. "I mean... I... I would really like that. Thank you."

Kaleb smiled lopsidedly. "I-I've been studying all morning, it would be nice to go for a walk." He stood up carefully, and held out his large book, using his magic to shrink it down to a size small enough to stick in his jacket pocket. Usually he would just carry it, but he might need his arms for balance if he didn't want to end up on the ground again.

Ais's eyes widened again and she leaned in a bit closer to the book as it shrunk, fascinated. "What just happened? How... did you manage to do that?" asked the female curiously, looking up at Kaleb as she got to her feet carefully. "Is it the same you used to heal me?

Kaleb smiled, and sheepishly rubbed at one arm. "I-it is kind of like the healing, but it's a different spell. I work with a lot of magic, but white magic is my specialty." He started walking, stepping carefully and looking down at the ground to avoid particularily shiny patches of ice.

"That's actually rather amazing," Ais said, following after Kaleb and smiling warmly. As they walked, the light flickered off of her fur like light to glass, and she hummed softly. "I've never heard of someone being able to do such things... it sounds wonderful. Are there any limits for you?"

Kaleb blushed a bit more. "I-it's not really common, but there are schools that teach it to those who have the capacity to learn it." He couldn't help but smile at her last question, usually that was the sort of thing that wasn't asked often. "Y-yeah, there are some types of spells I can't do so well, like fire based magic, and I can only cast so much at a time. It takes a lot of practice to get better at either of those."

Ais smiled warmly as she listened, nodding once and looking thoughtful. "How would one know if they have the capacity for such things?" she asked curiously, glancing away for a moment to eye a patch of ice that she carefully sidestepped around.
