This was really random, but me and my friends were talking about a foursome between Javert, Valjean, Thenardier, and a rubber chicken wrapped in glow-in-the-dark tape. Don't ask where the chicken came from...

I'm gonna be really straight forward and obvious and say my favorite is Jean and Fantine. Just had to say that, and if I remember correctly, the book really went into that more. So tragic *Sniffle-N-Cry*

Emperor Toji I'm gonna be really straight forward and obvious and say my favorite is Jean and Fantine. Just had to say that, and if I remember correctly, the book really went into that more. Now now, I never said I cried. I said it was sad. Now Eponine's death, I cried during that, which sucked, cause I had to be playing at the same time so I personally think I sounded awful...

I'm not sure about my favourite pairing... probably MariusxEponine. A friend of mine (probably sick of Les Mis ranting) directed me to some fanfiction last night pairing JavertxValjean. It was well written and quite sweet in some parts, but it's just not a possible pairing in my eyes rofl Javert is too much of a prude in my eyes mrgreen

Also considering neither of them are Gay...Thats why I don't enjoy fanfiction sometimes...The Yaoi pairings I read them and I'm like, "Ok...Thats all fine and good, but THATS NOT THE CHARACTERS!"

That could be said about a lot of fanfiction in general, and not just about the character's sexuality. The characters can act unnaturally in circumstances or develop an odd trait or two. It's all down to the writer and how they exercise their creativity, I guess. If they desperately want (for some bizarre reason) to pair up two unlikely characters and explain away the tension between them as being sexual then they can write about it. We don't have to agree with the workings of it mrgreen Atomic H Valjean: Sex? Javert: HELL NO. Go back to jail. I'd love to see a sketch of that rofl The mental image alone is making me smirk like an idiot xp Poor prudish Javert (and Enjy). lol

I take offense to that remark about the fanfiction but only for one thing: some of the characters were never shown to have enough personality to TELL what their personalities are supposed to be.
I've seen, for instance, calm-and-collected!Joly, which completely reverses my Joly (a spazz for all occasions). And while most people's Feuillys (Feuillies? Feuilli?) seem to be quiet and very rarely speak, mine's obnoxious and rather oversexed. There's nothing in the book to say they aren't, after all o__0
Though if I see another Combeferre/Enjolras, Marius/Eponine, Enjolras/Eponine (*throws up*) or Grantaire/Enjolras fic I'll stab someone. GET SOME CREATIVITY DAMMIT.

Sorry, it was not my intention to cause offense. Of course the writer has ultimate sway over the fanfiction, and they can take it in which ever direction they see fit. For characters who aren't given a full personality, of course those can be added to. I was talking on a subject I don't know enough about, I'm sorry for offending you. sad

That had better be sarcasm because if it's not you are about to be loathed by about 99.5 percent of this guild. :/ Some of us are very sensitive to comments like that (some of us are very sensitive PERIOD). You don't see me going OMG MARIUS X EPONINE!!!1 MY EYES BLEED!!!!!1, do ya? (wouldn't be unlike me, but yanno there's a thing called respecting an opinion, lol) So you better watch it next time. Some of us aren't so nice when people come in and say baseless, intolerant things~
