"Aha...but she is a furball, ye know." Biscuit wiggled his eyebrows at the mare teasingly and then gave a slight bow to the otter (who would probably claw his eyes out). While he often got chastised for providing people with undesirable nicknames he usually stated the obvious and that became their nickname...a little like when he had called his Uncle 'featherbutt' before idolising him.
...Well, said uncle had feathers on his backside.
"Pleasure te meet ye though, they call me Biscuit because I be lookin' like one when I was a babe apparently." While others may laugh at his name, Biscuit had always found it a good talking point and referencing to his family always allowed people to realise he came from an odd bunch - therefore, his odd personality could be excused.
"Ye can call me whatever ye like." He eyed the otter warily, "'Cept anythin' mildly offensive." He warned, more to Dani's companion than to the mare who he still couldn't keep his eyes off, apparently his eyes enjoyed wandering back to her rather exotic form.
"Or really offensive." He added quickly. not entirely certain that the otter wasn't against doing that.

Dani laughed, agreeing, "Yes, she is a furball, but a furball with a fiery temper." As if just to prove her point, Keelee chose that time to chatter a string of quite offending names that would best be left unwritten. "Um," Dani blushed, mumbling, "I'm not sure if Keelee understands the term offensive...."
Laughing, Dancia teased, "I'm just glad that you're not the size of a biscuit, or else Keelee would have her next meal." Keelee acted horrified, chirping in disgust, saying that Biscuit would be too dry to east. Dani merely giggled, and told the little otter to stick to seafood.
Just out of curosity, although she highly doubted it, Dani asked, "Does that mean you like to eat biscuits?"

"Me?" Biscuit snickered as he thought about his own name and then gave a shake of his head. While he didn't mind the taste of biscuits, he was a bigger fan of sweeter foods such as berries and the occasional flower. It had been the choice of his parents to name him 'Biscuit', probably in the spur of the moment or when they were particularly hungry.
...Would've been just like his father to be that way before he had transformed into the father he was today. Still light hearted, but there was a suitably more protective side to his nature now that ensured that anyone attempting to harm his family would get a very hard smack to the head - probably one supported by the rest of his family as well!
"Nae, me Pa and me Ma named me this 'cause me basket be lookin' like a big biscuit when I be snuggled up inside. Name jes' kinda stuck and I ended up bein' named Biscuit." It was rather amusing for him, given that his name was the oddest out of the trio that had been born. "That' bein' said, me sisters 'ave normal names so ye'd be wonderin' what me parents were thinkin' when they named their only son somethin' so strange."
"Not tha' I be complainin', I like me name...makes people like yeself laugh." Flashing a smile, he glanced down at Keelee and gave a gentle nudge of his hoof towards her. "'Cept you, I dinnae 'ow te make ye laugh yet, any clues?"

"Maybe they were so happy that they had a son, that they couldn't help but name him something...unique," Dani offered, laughing. Or maybe his parents just had a sense of humor.
Sisters? That meant that Biscuit had to come from a family of at least five, including the parents. She wondered if they were a a close family, like Dancia's own. Well, she hadn't seen her father or brother recently, but...
Keelee looked at the stallion warily. She decided that he wasn't a threat to either herself or Dani, but that didn't mean that she had to like him. Or laugh for him. Grinning to herself, and ignoring Dani's warning, she chirped happily, "Make a fool of yourself."
Dancia could've drowned herself as she launched into another string of apologies.

"Easily done." Perhaps Keelee had hoped he would have looked horrified of the prospect but he was hardly one who was easily embarrassed. Rather, he saw this as an opportunity to win over the rather unusual furball and in return he would potentially gain a lot more favour with the pretty damsel...If what was needed, was for him to 'humiliate' himself for the furball then he could easily do that.
...He had a big enough ego to cope!
Smiling good naturally towards the mare who always seemed to be apologising for her companion's actions, he shook his head and very calmly turned back towards the young otter. She wanted him to humiliate himself, he was fairly certain that she would like to be a part of it.
"How good are ye at fishin'?"

Keelee looked at the stallion in surprise. Perhaps, just perhaps, he was not so much of a fool......but a complete nitwit. A fishing contest? Against someone with fins? This would be good. "Considering that I fish to eat, I suppose I'm more than good enough to out-fish you," Keelee challenged.
Dani watched the exchange between the sea otter and the stallion silently, not sure what to make of it. She was impressed that Biscuit was responding to Keelee so good naturedly, where another stallion might have been insulted. Still, Dani decided, Keelee needed a good scolding once they got home.
Deciding to play along with the whole fishing contest, Dani looked at Biscuit and asked, "How do you propose we conduct this...competition? Whoever catches the most fish by the end of the day wins?"

Ha! Keelee evidently didn't know that his beloved aunt had taught him how to fish when he was a colt and she was a master. Smiling and with a devilish glint in his eyes, he fixed his gaze back on Keelee as she challenged him before turning his gaze back towards Dani - clearly he knew what he was doing...and he wasn't afraid to lose if it turned out Keelee really was just as good as his aunt.
"Nay, Keelee would destroy me in that type of competition...I be lookin' fer somethin' more fair." He canted his head to the side and then motioned in the direction of the lake, a place deep enough for him to become submerged in. It would be deep enough for him to lunge about as he needed to, a river couldn't afford him as much room.
"The creature that can throw the fish highest wins, best of three."

Chattering angrily, Keelee countered, "How is that fair? You are so much bigger than me! Besides, if it is a fishing contest you want, then should it not be based on the actual fishing?"
Now, Keelee mused, "cheater" was added to the list of terms that applied to Biscuit.
Quickly, before Keelee could do anything foolish, like, swipe Biscuit's eyes out, Dancia intervened. "What if you stand on my back when you throw, Keelee? I know I'm not as tall as Biscuit, but assuming that he'd use his mouth to throw, I'm sure it'll be pretty even."
Actually, Dani agreed with Keelee that it should be a contest based on fishing skill, but she also knew that Keelee would definitely have the advantage there, and this throwing contest was probably as fair as it got.

"Ah, please bear in mind tha' we 'ave te catch the fish first and I be thinkin' ye 'ave a big advantage against me on tha' score." He had a point, his hooves were no match for her claws in this case and it would take him much longer to do. That being said, they definitely needed an impartial judge and given the time of the morning he wasn't entirely sure whether or not anyone he knew would be awake.
"But if yer realleh that afraid to lose then we might as well jes' say I won." Raising a brow, he flicked his tail against his flank and continued to move on. Otter she may be, but she could still toss those fish mighty high if she really wanted, he would be forced to throw them as soon as he caught them without preparation...

(( Soooo sorry about this huge delay. @.@ Between net problems, thunderstorms, and coastal visits, I haven't been on Gaia much.... ))
Furious, Keelee lept onto Biscuits moving back, and mindful not to accidentally claw him, she snarled in his ear, "Bring it on. I'll cream you without any help from anyone."
Dani smiled ruefully to herself, trotting slowly after Biscuit. Keelee seldom lept on anyone's back other than her own, even in anger. Perhaps this was Keelee's way of showing her acceptance of Biscuit?
"Well, since I don't particularly fondle the idea of getting wet, perhaps I could judge instead?" Keelee offered.

((S'all good, things happen. ^^))
Dani was hardly impartial and for the briefest instance the stallion was almost tempted to protest. Nevertheless, he did quietly remind himself that it was necessary to gain the Otter's favour in order to befriend the beauty before him. Of course, there was always going to be an underlying risk that the mare would favour her own companion but it was a sacrifice he was willing to make.
...It would pay off eventually, he had no doubt of that.
"If you would prefer to judge then I would have no qualms." Bowing his head somewhat in acceptance, the stallion then flicked his ears back to receive Keelee's whisper. Apparently he would struck a nerve which would, in turn, provide him with the opening to her more vulnerable and light hearted side (or so he hoped).
"I suspect you will judge most fairly."

"Of course," came the terse reply. Dancia was slightly offended that Biscuit seemed to question whether or not she would be unbiased as a judge. However, considering that Keelee was Dani's familar of sorts, the mare knew that his uncertainty was justified, but even so...
Curiosity eventually implored Dani to wonder why Biscuit didn't protest her being a judge, since he had obviously wanted to, if only for a second. Or had that been her imagination? Dancia sighed under her breath, daring to wonder whether or not the stallion had hidden intentions, then quickly chased that thought away. Her curiosity was getting the better of her. She was just being rather rudely paranoid, which Biscuit did not deserve at all.

He would have responded to the look if he had seen it, but he had already turned his back away from the pair and was moving swiftly down the stream's edge towards the lake in the distance. It wasn't a particularly long walk but he was already preparing himself for the competition. His breathing became controlled, his neck arched as he recalled the lessons his aunt had bestowed upon him at a young age.
...Keelee had speed, but he had height.
Flicking his tail against his flank, it wasn't long before the stallion at last reached the waters edge and without any hesitation he slipped in. Wading slowly through the liquid until he was submerged to his shoulders - it was then and only then that he glanced towards the mare and smirked childishly.
"Are ye ready?"
