"That would depend entirely on the situation at hand," Biscuit replied calmly and he was being genuinely honest in this. There was no 'ideal' way to protect a creature and one had to adapt according to the circumstances they were confronted with. That being said, Biscuit could account for many mares that were perfectly capable of defending themselves and were really tough enough to have no need of a stallion in that manner.

"Most times, wit I suppose...other times, I nae be against taken out me opponent with a few smacks. That bein' said, it's a tad silly to be exertin' so much energy unless absolutely necessary - better things te do than scrap." He pointed out, swivelling his ears round in response to the sounds behind him. It seemed that now this wind was attempting to get him to answer the questions for him...a clever move, but one Biscuit had seen before.

"Ye wants te prove ye loves me sister, then I be wantin' ye te get a gift fer 'er - that is, if yer up te it."

*Andre only listened to what the stallion had to say, he himself was bent out protecting Tsa as she had when he was just a foal. It was the least he could do for her. She had been kind to him and he wanted to be kind right back and more. His ears perked up a little as he heard the stallion want wanting him to get Tsa a gift. That had already been done.*

"Already did that my friend, I gifted her with a silver bell that my mother gifted me with to do what I wanted with. So I gave it to Tsa to show my love to her just as my Mother did to show love to my father." He nodded remembering the look in her face when he gave her the bell. That was the happiest moment he would remember for always. "I hope that is what you were thinking was a good gift, it seemed tsa thought it was. She wears it with pride around her ankle." he nodded again.

"Uh huh, that ain't what I meant." Flashing another sly grin, the stallion flicked his tail against his flank and canted his head to the side. While declarations of love and objects of sentimental value were often exchanged, that didn't prove very much to the individuals observing from the sidelines - especially men. No doubt, the females would coo appreciatively but Biscuit wasn't terribly impressed.

"S'all well and good tha' ye be givin' me sister somethin' ye already had," He gave a shrug, it was all very nice and he was sure his sister would be delighted but it was hardly a trial. Granted, it had taken him courage to confess his love but so? Biscuit could do that in a heart beat and he wouldn't even blush!

"Nae, in order te prove ye got what it takes te look after me sister, ye gonna have te get somethin' really special...And it certainly ain't from a place where yer lot tread."

"And what may I ask you have in mind?" Andre asked thinking that this one was just trying to mess with his head. "Because that was as special as one would think. It's not like I've traveled that much or that everyone has a silver bell."

*Ears twitching back against his head, he wondered what this more special gift was, he thought the bell was special enough as it was. Tsa seemed pleased with it and he assumed that that was all that was needed, now he needed to do more? What was up with this one, he had slept with more mares then Andre ever dared to. Then again, Andre was brought up better then that, he would never find himself bedded with a different mare besides Tsa, he wouldn't allow himself to do such a thing.*

"Now don't go messing with my head, I'm not one that frolics after every mare in my sights. I've more respect then that and have chosen only one to bed down with, and it seems that you want me to keep away from her, I think I'm well capable for being around my friend and love."

"Gonna level with ye..." Coming to a halt the smile grew deeper and the stallion released a chuckle, "Me Uncle Crous has loads of those silver bells wrapped round 'is neck, they ain't nothin' special te the likes of me." That said, he seemed reasonably satisfied he had pointed out that the stallion needed to prove himself to the men of the herd and not just his little love.

...They were to be family after all.

"Now dinnae go insultin' me way of life, or I be tellin' me sister ye lack respect." Swivelling his ears, he soon opted to address the 'task' he had in mind. While the 'treasure' he spoke of was just a flower, it only grew in one location and it was particularly difficult to reach. Far in the wastelands, the territory of questionable individuals, their lurked a flower so exotic and beautiful...

"There be a very special flower east of 'ere, linin' the walls of caverns in the darkened and barren lands. Only the bravest ever enter the territory of the beast tha' be residin' there..." Canting his head to the side, he seemed rather unphased by his own words, almost as though he had been there himself.

"Ye be findin' that flower and bringin' it back te the herd...then ye have our favour."

*Andre listened about how there was another he didn't know about that had silver bells about his neck. Well then it really wasn't that special to them, but it seemed to be special to him. But a mention of a flower was interesting and how this one spoke about it, it seemed that he had ventured to find this flower hmself.*

"Ok.... And if I get this flower I have proven myself worthy to court your sister?" he asked raising a brow. "Though this seems well planned, if you send me into a trap, I'll be sure to haunt you for the rest of your days." He pointed out swinging a hoof in Biscuit's direction.

*Over all he wasn't too sure about all this finding a flower in some wasteland. Surely nothing could live, let along grow in that type of place. But it interested him and he was willing to do anything to prove that he was willing to do anything for Tsa. Even if he might not come back alive from all this. Puffing himself up and looking most daring, even if his mind was not, he glared at Biscuit.*

"Where is this flower you speak of?" he asked confident that he could bring it back, and return in one piece instead of many. "And I take it that you won't be joining me if this tale of yours is true. Right?"

"Aye, I'll take ye te the lands I speak of but it be up te ye te find the hidden treasure." He smiled enthusiastically as the stallion finally took his challenge. Perhaps this one really did deserve his sister if he was willing to fly into the depths of the wastelands. Of course, Biscuit wasn't about to tell him about the particularly grumpy stallion that lived in it and guarded his territory fiercely...it would be up to Andre to discover that.

All in all, Biscuit was fairly certain the poor wind wouldn't get slaughtered but he would probably end up with a headache. Possibly a few cuts and bruises, but he could tell Tsa a glorious tale of adventure and wonder that would probably send her in a murderous bloodlust after her brother for tossing her poor mate in front of a blood thirsty killer.

...Okay, so the hermit wasn't that bad, but he was close.

"Ye be findin' it in very damp caves, where single rays o' light hit the ground and kiss the sands lovingly. When ye gets te the wastes, where the trees lie in a slumberin' state, ye be certain that the birds and other critters will know o' it."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 08, 2007 5:04 pm

"I'm sure I can find this flower and be back before anyone notices that I'm there, if not then it will take me longer." He joked though thinking there had to be a catch to all this. "And I bring back that flower, you will stay off my back about being with your sister? Sounds too easy if you ask me." He muttered looking away at that last part.

*Not that having things too easy wasn't a bad thing, he was well and good at flying and was willing to prove anything. Getting this flower would be simple, he hoped, fly in, find this spot where Biscuit had told him about and fly back out. Simple, unless something for into his way. Shaking his head, Andre, pawed at the ground.*

"Lets get this over with," He snorted looking at Biscuit, his wings fluffing out a bit, waiting to be used.

"Ye'll be walkin' - where we be goin' there ain't any good places te land." Flicking his tail against his flank, the stallion turned his back to the Wind and began to make his way towards to slopes bordering the deserts. Here, Andre would find that there were forest and life, but the brutal droughts and the unrelenting gaze of the sun had caused many trees to wither - as a result, the place looked more like a forest in deep slumber.

Unsurprisingly, the mountains were cold despite the sun - perhaps it was the altitude but this was a rather welcome sense. At least at this height there was a little water to find and drink, something that the Wind would need if he (like so many others) found themselves lost within the depths of the catacombs that lay beneath their hooves.

After a while of travelling, the stallion came to a halt near the forest edge and glanced round towards the Wind. Apparently he had been honest when he said there was nowhere to land, the existing canopy and the intertwining branches were too thick to penetrate.

"In 'ere..." He murmured, glancing into the rather ominous shadows that the twisted trades happened to create. Even in broad daylight this place was somewhat unwelcoming but it certainly wasn't as bad as it was at night.

"Ye might wanna watch out fer the birds, they report straight ter his Lordship..."

*Andre was quick to follow Biscuit had taken him, he only stopped a couple times, but remained behind the stallion. Hoping that this wouldn't be as hard as he seemed to make it. Stepping over what ever lay in the way he came to a halt near Biscuit looking off into the distance and snorted.*

"Piece of cake." He said over confident. "Now tell me that you haven't left anything out about this place before I risk life and limb for my love. Then again, if anything happens to me, you will be on her hit list. Am I right?" he asked with a smile before edging further away from Tsa's brother.

*Shaking his head, his wings stretched gently at his sides before folding again, it didn't seen safe to take to the skies, seemed safer to be on the ground. eyes and ears alert, Andre would make his way further into the unknown to find this special gift and prove that he was what he was.*

"Um...jes; that the hermit inside 'appens te 'ave wings and pretty pointy teeth." Smiling, Biscuit drifted away from the edge of the forest and found himself a reasonably comfortable place to dose for the time being. He would be content enough to watch the surrounding deserts, recalling his brief time with a certain mare and their memorable encounter.

...Ah yes, Andre wouldn't be quite so confident when he discovered the trees really did have eyes. On the whole, i would be interesting to see how the stallion reacted to the Mutant when said soquili discovered him in his territory. Would he run, would he fight or would he take the diplomats way out? All in all, Biscuit was curious to see how he would fair.

The mutant was family after all, if Andre couldn't deal with this little section of the family could he really be trusted to take Tsa as his mate...or would he steal her away from her family?
PostPosted: Fri Jun 08, 2007 6:17 pm

"Oh now you tell me!" he shouted back, but only burst out laughing. "Keeping secrets from me? We'll just see how this one can deal with someone else in his domain..."

*Shaking his head, Andre stalked further into the mutant's domain. He could do this, this was simple, find a flower then run like hell, sure there was the small, minor thing with this mutant. He could handle it. If he could handle his sister he could handle this mutant, he was sure of it. Andre stopped for a moment and took a few breaths, his ears listening around him. His eyes closed for a moment, giving time to clear his mind of anything that could off set him.

After a few moments, Andre walked ever further, his ears forward, ears alert, he wouldn't be taken by surprise so easily. Sought on proving his worth, Andre kept walking, his pace steady, unhurried, not wanting to attracted unwanted company. Stopping again he raised his head to what was above his head, this place was a bit lonesome, it could use a few more soquili about.

Humming to himself, Andre put a little dance into his step as if to pass the time as he looked about for this flower, much less anything that would get in his way. The warnings he had been given were still fresh in his mind.
'Watch out for the birds...' And that's what he would do, keeping an eye about the place he was, watching for any sudden movements he kept going, indentured and not thinking of turning back. He would complete this task even if it killed him inside.*

"This task is as good as done when I find that so called flower." He muttered just loud enough for anyone about him to hear. "Then that stallion can't say I'm not worthy to court his sister."

"I do not believe, you were invited..." The soft and sultry voice drifted out from the shadows of the jagged trees as he drew further into the lands. While he had remained reasonably unhindered in his progress so far, it appeared he had been spotted before he had a chance to take note of what lay in the trees. It wasn't necessarily the case that the 'eyes' guarded the borders, just an unlucky coincidence.

"I must admit," The beast finally moved from the shadows, the glowing turquoise orb giving a pulse as though an entity in itself. Slowly but surely the peculiar creature began to emerge, amber eyes fixed firmly on the Wind. It appeared Biscuit wasn't lying when he stated there was a 'beast' in the forest, he just hadn't mentioned it was a rather disgruntled kalona-like soquili.

"I have had a lot of visitors as of late, but never winged." He mused at last, arching a brow. He seemed to be in reasonably good humour, whoever he might have been.

"So, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 11, 2007 6:20 am

*Andre had come to a quick halt when the voice had come to his ears. Turning his head slowly he looked toward the direction of where the voice may have come from. Long before the bearer placed itself within sight her him. Backing away a bit, this one had reminded him of his last encounter with a Kalona. Though Andre had only been a colt at the time, Jason as the Kalona had named himself, wasn't that frightening until he through Andre into the river... But that was a different story, this one made him shiver.*

"Ah.." He started, not a good start either. "I was sent in here by another Stallion to fetch a flower." He gulped backing away, though his eyes never strayed from the Kalona like beast before him. "He said it would prove if I'm worthy enough to court his sister."

*He hoped that would be enough, Andre had backed away three steps, it seemed a good enough distancing to quickly turn in any direction and just run if need be. He was sure that this would would surely catch him, he wasn't THAT fast. Turning his head to the side, Andre had to wonder what else Biscuit hadn't told him, still this could prove interesting. Though just in case, Andre had opened his wings just a little as if he was going to just leap into the air to get away. He was prepared for just about anything, or so he thought anyway.*

"Romance." The stallion sounded decidedly unimpressed and released a snort at the explanation. Nevertheless, Andre's reaction to his form seemed to satisfy him for some peculiar reason and he made no other moves to attack - clearly, the wind knew where he stood in this little encounter. Given that this was the mutant's territory he knew it well, the same could not be said for the wind who would no doubt wander about repeatedly with little chance of ever locating the flower.

Ah yes, this mutant knew which flowers the wind spoke of, he'd seen them before many times with his own eyes. That being said, that didn't mean he wasn't thrilled at yet another visitor on his land regardless of how 'honourable' his cause might have been. Rather, he would sooner the stallion was not on his land but these soquili...they had such strange rituals.

Flowers?

Shaking his head, the mutant ruffled his leathery wings ever so slightly and turned his head to glance over his shoulder. If it would get the wind off his territory, then he would show him the caves he needed - but if the stallion should ever return he would be decidedly less welcoming.

"This way." He stated flatly, flicking his whip-like tail as he turned round and moved back into the trees.
