To such a statement, Leon merely gave a snort. He'd heard threats similar to that before, and it came as no surprise to him. It would be unwise to underestimate her though, so he would merely keep his attention on her as he had been planning to do all along. With silent confidence, the male's body language displayed an air of 'that's what you think, but you might be in for a surprise' even though the haughtiness did not reach his expression. He had seen worse than this. Still, it wouldn't be enough reason to let her off the hook easily.

He ignored her grin, but noticed how stiff she seemed to be. His pace eased by a little, but not much. "Setsu, alright. Well, Setsu, until further notice, I'm placing you under surveillance. You're... admittedly the best behaved I've seen of your kind. This is a matter of public safety is all. How long have you been in this forrest?" Leading the way through the trees, Leon weaved around rocks and jumped a log while speaking, waiting for her on the other side of the aforementioned fallen tree.

My, Mr. Leon seemed so sure of himself. And perhaps he had the right to, considering the gear he wore. Setsu kept sublte glances to the other, measuring up as many facts as she could. Strong structure, obviously. And he had hinted at agility earlier in the encounter. But what hindered her most, was that she had yet to see any signs of weapons. Chances were high that there was at least one within the many pockets.

Pale ears teetered as his pace gave the slightest adjustment, making it easier on her part to keep up. Even so, the threat of being too close lingered in both their minds, made aware by the caution set in both pairs of eyes. "Surveillance? Does that make you local enforcement?" She hadn't expected furry creatures to have such a structured society. An approaching log made her pace slow even more, pondering how to pass the fallen object. Leon had jumped it with ease, and it admitttedly wasn't all that large. Front paws went on the wood, and she managed to heave herself up and over with her hind legs. Though, she remained perched on the curve of the log, head tilting at the blonde. "My time spent is unknown, even to myself. If you can recall, I was dead, as you enjoy repeating." She hopped down, making as soft an impact as she could. "Your turn," She backstepped and went back to her position off to the side. "How many of "my kind" have you encountered?"

"That's right," He confirmed quite seriously, "I keep the peace here and the... things like you in line." There was pride in his tone, and in the way the fur on his tails swelled a bit. He waited for her to come over the log and watched carefully as she did. His lips curled back in a small sneer at her sarcasm, a rather mocking little 'ha ha' offered before he drove on through the foliage. She didn't know how long she'd been here, huh? Well, assuming she had been in this forrest the whole time, Leon could believe her. Sometimes it was so dense and overgrown you couldn't see whether it was day or night- it was always dark. It was perfect for the nastiest creatures of the mountain, and that was why he was there. He needed to know what he was dealing with here, and what he needed to do for it if he were to find things like Setsu or -even worse- the Skarecrow wandering around unaccounted for.

Her question caused a momentary halt in his gate, his ears flicking back before he kept moving. "I've seen enough." He replied, clipping his words off. The forrest gave no sign of thinning- it simply opened up. Suddenly they were beside the river, and the current there seemed to be rushing strongly just downstream. "Here, stay... close. To the shore, that is. Unless you want to take a swim down one of the waterfalls." For the first time during this encounter he looked... less gruff. His blue eyes were still wary on her, but when he looked to the river his lips seemed to tighten a bit in hidden worry, or indecision. "You uh... look like you wanna say something."

Things like you. She went silent as her mind drifted in ponderance. Were there more of the beings here that she was sent to get rid of? Not likely, by the fact that this was a whole different dimension and she came alone. At least, within this general area. Even so, she had enough on her plate. Such as how to get out of here to find her allies. But the promise of seeing more 'zombies' seemed probable with Leon's words. Unless he was just paranoid and as 'crazy' as he deemed her to be. No matter, she was anxious enough to gladly test her skills and limits in this realm should a zombie show it's face. Perhaps out of the presence of one so squeemish; wouldn't want to disturb the peace.

His answer was recieved without a reply, as they continued treading quietly. Eyes were slow to scan the trees surrounding them, as if waiting for a planned ambush. Who said trust was to be awarded so soon, to either of them? Besides, caution was just as part of her as the single horn crowning her dark hair. Sounds of flowing water reached her ears before the smell, and soon the sight of a river was seen ahead. Paws as chilly as the pebbles moved forward towards the river's edge, Setsu intending to finally rid herself of the dry, crusted blood. A wary glance was tossed to Leon, as if debating the chances of him attacking or not. After a moment, she shrugged and dipped her once hands into the water and attempted to cup a useful amount. She tilted forward to splash her hair and face, paws scrubbing away the obvious stains. Tails lay spread behind her to help balance and stay as dry as possible on the wet ground. Ears twitched as words spoke over the chimes of rushing water. "There's too much to say." Just...no words to speak them. And no one to honestly speak them to. Giving a bitter smirk, she stood, realizing it was much steadier now than before. Lovely, perhaps it could be tested. "That was refreshing. But as to your surviellance, I must decline." And she padded away from the river's edge, determined to evade any restraints. Heh, how hard could that be?
