"I guess earplugs will do."

Fuuya eased up on the wall and tried to relax. The weather seemed amiable enough to cast a spell. No one would know - thats why the spell - a marvel of the night.

"I guess this would be the night for me, coming up?", he stood up and said his farewell to the Sachi girl.

She raised an eyebrow at him- at the last sentance, mostly. "What?" She asked, but he was leaving. She shrugged and stretched again, wincing slightly at a dart of pain--she really ought to stop stretching--and looked at her spear. She sighed, and left it as it was, then got up and head for the stares via the bar.
The men there found their drinks far hotter than what they'd been expecting...
She smiled and leanedagainst the wall before trying the stairs. People to get past at the top of the narrow stair, but she could handle that as long as she didn't trip. Which she wouldn't be surprised if she did.
But as long as she didn't, she could find her room, and go to sleep.

He went straight to his room. Eventhough he agreed to use earplugs for the night, still he couldn't sleep by just that. Elves meditate, and maybe sleep in the middle of it.

He have to cast the spell soon. The sooner it'll be completed, the sooner he could sleep. Peacefully.

Sachi slipped past the two on the stairs and looked at the doors. She looked at her key, and then found the matching door and went inside. She had good eyes, for the dark, and didn't light a candle as she found her bed. The earplugs were specially made, and rarely, rarely used. In fact, she planned on not using them tonight: there were to many strange things going on for her to take that much away from her awareness. Her spare pillow would just have to do.
With that thought, and the shedding of her shoes and overshirt, she collapsed under the covers, a pillow jammed over her ears. Her red-pink hair drifted across the bottom pillow, like a pink river, and her strange violet eyes were closed, their curtains drawn. A smile, small but present, rested in the corve of her lips, and she settled the unusually (to her) thick blanket over her body, drifting asleep almost before it came to rest over her contours.

". . . crowns of the third wing, overdrawn sunlit twilight, the winds of cold ember, summon the air of thought, surround!", Fuuya chanted the final words of the thought bubble and soon a bright red light of a glyph surrounded his footing.

The glyph slowly grew upwards, bulging in the middle and tapering, curving up to form a gigantic floating sphere that enveloped his being.

Right there, Fuuya took a sit on thin air, and sat in an open lotus position. And started to sleep.

If Sachi had seen it, she would have blinked once, and commented that that looked like the funnest way to sleep, and then gone to find something else to do.
But she didn't see it, so that's all besides the point. Sachi slept, half way between the shallow waters of dreams, and the deep ocean of true sleep. It was a precarious balance of shifting waters, images flickering in and darting out, like the silvery fish that swim in the shoals, glimmerings interspersed with dark.

Within just minutes the thought bubble burst. That's the limit for his spell.. and mostly for all elves. Sleep was a trivial thing. Recovery was another story. Full recovery was ensured for those small amounts of time.

Ancient stories tell of how elves came into being, guardians, made for the sole purpose of protecting something. And for the part of protecting, elite elven sentries were trained to recover using breathing techniques, heal using a tree's potential, and have mental resolve unmatched by any illusory magic.

Fuuya left his room, opened a window by the hall and climbed to the roof to have a view at the cloud-covered moon.

And there on the roof, lay the young wizard, Waku. He was asleep but his face was turned towards the moon. Luna was the only thing he missed from his home. It was amazing that this place had one, too. He had come up here to sleep under her, as he had every night since... that day. The day he had lost everything. He always kept his feeling about that day under his shell. He was almost emotionless, now, under it, but that girl, Sachi, had easily almost broken it. In sleep, Waku's face showed confusion and deep sorrow, the very things he hid when awake.

Rika was toweling her hair dry after taking a long and hot shower. She was dressed in clean clothes and she looked much renewed after having scrubbed all the mud off.

Hanging up her towel Rika found she could go to sleep now, she was feeling too restless. Why, she had no clue.

Sighing dejectedly Rika found her way outside, and for once it wasn't raining. The sky was covered with clouds but occaisionaly the moon would peek its bright head and shine down on them. It was a comforting sight and Rika left the Inn's cover and went to walk about the silent town.

He found someone already ahead of him, the roof wouldn't be that nice if the hat guy was disturbed... somehow, he felt out of place... with all the people sleeping and such... he looked around the walks to see any activity.

And found the spell girl, the one the black cat stays most of the time...

She sure is active this time of night.

Fuuya stealthily jumped from the rooftops and fell down the soft and slightly wet cobblestones below. He quickly catched up with Rika and tapped a shoulder, "Hi... can I join you in for the walk?"

Rika jumped and spun around, red amber eyes wide and a small daggar in her hand as she realized who it was. She hadn't heard him at all and that frightened her. Silently she nodded and slipped her daggar back into the sheath on her wrist.

Her eyes still on the elf standing infront of her she didn't notice the black orb in a dark, bleak ally. No one else would have seen it either. It bared fangs from a non exsistant mouth with a silent hiss as it dissapeared.

With the silent hiss Rika swore she jumped 6 inches. She turned about and spotted the dark ally. "Ah! Wait!" She cried running into the darkness afer it. It was what she'd been looking for the whole time she was here. That's why she'd been unable to sleep. It'd finally found her. She wouldn't let it get away this time.

He tried to follow her. Mostly out of curiosity, and something to do this time of night. They ran through the winding alleyway chasing a being that could hide itself in shadows.

"What is that by the way?", he dared ask. Amidst the pants and short breaths he doesn't seem to find any animal that looks like that. What was that thing anyway? How is it connected to her?

Rika let out an agrivated scream and fell to her knees. "No!" She sobbed. It'd gotten away again. It was taunting her. Why could it taunt the other prophecied? Why'd it pick her to tease?

Rika pounded the cobblestones with her fists over the grate that it'd dissapeared through. "I had it!" Rika yelled between her heavy weezes. "I had you!" She screamed into the night. Just as she did it began to drizzle, the little water droplets rained down again, splotching on the dark streets. That was it, she'd have to wait for another night when it didn't rain.

It rained harder and Rika just sat on her knees dejectedly in the back ally. Her breathing was ragged and her eyes red. Streaks ran down her face from silent tears.

-A day will come,-
-Our deed be done.-
-The rain shall fall,-
-Demons will crawl.-
-Magicks turn good,-
-Violence no longer understood. -
-The time is up. -
-Our world is falling,-
-Falling up.-

Rika chanted the profecy as its meaning hit her.

He felt sorry for something. He was with her the whole time they were chasing the beast. But their efforts turned out to nothing.

As she sat there, screaming, he could only do but watch. Slowly he went close to her, reached out and patted a shoulder, and broke the spell that hides his wings from the rain.

The marvelous wings opened wide and curved forward, and as he slightly bowed to her, it covered her from the harsh rain that poured the streets.

As the wettness drizzled on her it suddenly stopped and Rika looked up, expecting to see no cloud but instead only saw a feathered wing. She turned her head a bit more and then saw Fuuya standing over her. She swallowed, embarassed. She'd forgotten he was going to walk with her.

"Um... I'm sorry..." Rika looked down and pushed herself off the ground just to find her feet collapse under her. She landed back on her knees. Apparently the chase and little outburst of her's had drained her emotionally and physically. Rika stared at the ground under her, unsure of what to say.
