A loud, annoyed growl floated toward them. If you are not careful, you will not only succeed in angering me, but in burning to a crisp in the sunlight. Is that something you would like to do?

Damien snorted. So they wished to gang up on him...he couldn't handle both together. They were the same age, and their parents had taught them many things. Fine. Be stubborn for all that I care. I should hope that the sun would scorch you if you were not my sisters. He turned and went to ground, shaking the earth around the two of them as he closed his own hole.

Lene frowned, "He let you leave? He is either very arrogant, confident enough to track you if you don't meet him, or...both." She snarled at that last option. "I hope it's just arrogance. That can be cured. Confidence...is a bit harder to unseat..."

"What if we gang up on him? Josette and Luciana are older now, and I'm sure they'd help..." Lene scooted down to her patch and smiled thoughtfuly, sending one last dreamy vision to her unknown friend, this one different from the others so far, as she bent and kissed his forehead in the dream.
