Luna laughed. "I know, that was almost nothing. She grabed and leg and started helping her lift it up and started walking at her side. She struggled to open her mouth while carrying it but she let out a small chuff letting them know they were coming.

Bai Shan's senses were sharpening as the light faded, and his ears swiveled to catch the approaching sounds of something in the brush. It sounded like several creatures dragging something unwieldy. "Looks like your mother and Anya are back," he said to Tiernay, recognizing the faint scent of the two lionesses mingled with the odor of blood and sweat. "That was fast." He looked over at Van curiously. The other lion hadn't stirred since they left, which was a little worrying.

As they neared, Anya noticed the growing darkness. Her ears flicked at the sounds of night. She began to grow uneasy but said nothing. As they came forward, she dropped her half the carcass and slipped over to Van. "Van? Wake up, Van. You must eat..." The ligress nudged the young male, causing him to stir.
His nose twitched at the scent of meat. Already his appetite began to wake him. As he rose, he managed to wobble over to the meat. Sniffing it, he began to mumble something about condiments before digging in. His fangs and claws tore into the flesh letting it revive his fatigued body. He really didn't take notice to what was going on other then he needed food.

Luna smiled and flopped down as the male started to eat. She yawned as Tiernay walked over and laided in her paws. At the moment she was happy just to have him there. And she started cleaning him while watching the others.

Bai Shan nodded to Anya and Luna as they moved into view with their catch, glad to see Van reviving enough to dig into the meat with relish. He nudged Hibana a little, but she didn't stir. It wasn't surprising; when she slept, she slept hard, though he had thought the smells of a fresh kill might rouse her. It was certainly making him a little hungry. He shrugged it off, calling over to Anya, "Good hunting around here, huh?"

She nodded at Bai Shan "Yup! Kinda like home, though." The purple female stepped over to the meat and Van. "Hey, you doing any better?" At his slight glare, she laughed. "I suppose so. Keep eating, we won't disturb you." She turned around looking over at the other two lions and their cubs. It felt her feel a little envious. Anya was a motherly sort of lion, so seeing cubs often made her wish for one of her own. "So, after he eats, we should try to find some place for the night. The cubs seem tired...I am a bit from the hunt, and I'm sure Van will be after he eats..."
Van continued to gorge onto the food. He hadn't eaten since he got here...which was what? Three days ago? He hadn't really been counting. He was so caught up in looking for his companions that everything else just seemed...obsolete. As Anya came close, he held back the instinctive growl from his throat. What kind of...thing was he changing into? Yes, he was an animal, a lion he figured, but...where did that instinct from from?! It scared the hell out of him? At least she didn't take it too bad. Slowing down, he began to lick at his jaws to clean them. Most of the kill was gone, but there was a good amount left. He made sure to keep his face hidden. "I appreciate the meat, Luna, Anya." He bowed down to them slipping away from the carcass and settling near to the group. "Let me know when I can repay you again.."

"If you don't mind me asking, where is your home?" Bai Shan inquired curiously. "Or have you just been wandering like Hibana and me?" He had always enjoyed hearing the stories of other lions and learning about strange new places. As a cub, there had been this one traveling storyteller who would visit their pride in the late summer and whose words could paint a picture so vivid that you felt like you were right in the middle of the story. One night when the lion left, he had finally decided to go after him and find some adventures of his own. He had never seen his family again.
"That sounds like a good idea to me," he agreed, half-turning to Luna to see what her reaction would be. It was sort of her territory, after all. Suddenly noticing Anya's wistful expression, he nudged Hibana a little harder. "Hibanaaaa," he whispered in her ear. "Wake upppp..."
Bai Shan had told her about elephants. The great leathery beast stood there right in front of her, long trunk waving majestically back and forth like a pendulum. She opened her mouth to ask him if those two huge teeth poking through his mouth hurt, but all that came out was a string of nonsense syllables. The elephant seemed to understand, though, and his mouth curled up into a smile. Suddenly she was falling into his huge wrinkly fan of an ear, which became bigger and bigger until it was suddenly... Van's hat, upside down in the middle of a lake. Anya was dancing on her hind legs in the middle, and Bai Shan winked at Hibana from his position next to Luna, who kept laughing and laughing...
"Huh... what?" The dream dissolved into flickering blue bubbles as Bai Shan nudged her. She wanted Anya to teach her how to dance like that... Anya! Suddenly she was bolt upright, startling Bai Shan into jerking back as she raced over to the lioness. "I had a dream about you!" she blurted. "You were..." Her forehead wrinkled into a frown - the dream was already gone. "I dunno. Something." Her ears drooped forlornly. "Oh hey! When did you get back, anyway?"

Luna stood up and shook off. "Well. I would like to open my home to all of you. The cave is sure enough big, and could hold all of us plus more." SHe smiled and shook her coat off and motioned for Tiernay to follow. "Come, I will take us there." With that she started walking toward where the cave was located not to far off with Tie in toe.

"Go there! Go there!"
"No, Kisdu," The lion told him for the umpteenth time, swatting the Jackdaw off his back with a flick of his tail. "I'm /not/ going anywhere where there's other lions. I'm just thirsty."
"But Kojo /need/ other lions!" The Jackdaw persisted, flitting back onto the white lion's head. "Kojo loooooooooonely."
"I'm not lonely. I'm just by myself. Other than you, that is."
"That true. But still, Kojo need other lions. Family." Kojo paused, his ears flattened back, and tossed his head, throwing the bird off yet again.
"I'm good, thanks."
"What 'bout what monkey said? Money said 'Kojo find family'." The memory of the pitiful old monkey that Kojo had come across made him stop and think.
"Well....maybe he was right. Maybe I will go find myself a family. But...."
"But nuttin'! Kojo find family."
"Alright, I will!" The young lion said with a grin, now determined to find a companion in this great world. It shouldn't have been too hard-a handsome, humorous lion was sure to make some friends, if only he would try.
"Okay!" The Jackdaw chirped in agreement. "Kisdu come too?"
"Yeah. You can come too."
"Yay!" And so it was-a lean white Lion and a little Jackdaw went trotting down the hill, past the shade of two peculiarly-placed trees, and right up to the river, where there seemed to be a small gathering. However, Kojo, since he'd lived alone, was more than shy, and strayed from the edge of the group, watching everyone wearily. He set his forepaws in the water on the edge of the shallow bank, lapping up a drink from the cool river. He'd always wondered how on such a hot, dry plain there could be such a wonderful river--his thoughts were interrupted by a sharp tapping on his head.
"Kojo make friends now!" Kisdu insisted, landing a few more sharp pecks on the top of the lion's head. Kojo smirked, throwing his head suddenly into the water, and lifted it back out, leaving the bird flapping and confused in the water.
"Heh..."
