Luna smiled as she padded across the savvanah. It was a nice day and she and her adopted son deiced to go out for a swim.
Luna was over joyed to have Tiernay with her It made her feel good and motherly, however she would have loved to have her own childern but unitil she found love Tiernay was enough for her.
The Wise lionesses gaze turned as she went over a hill, she found her self going to a flowing river. She told Tie to wait for a moment as she servayed the land making sure of no lurking predators. She called him over and sat at the waters edge.
Tiernay was a rough little cub, he was slightly snappy two but he never trusted anyone right away. He only trusted Luna as of now, he also protected her even though he was alittle cub.
He smiled as they came across water, right away he jumped in swimming around over joyed in the cool, blue water, He stayed near the shore where Luna was keeping an eye on her and splashing around.

 Hibana had been bugging Bai Shan for days. “Let’s go exploring! Let’s go exploring! Let’s go exploring and see what there is to see!” This morning he had finally relented, and now she was prancing happily ahead of the black and white lion who had adopted her as his daughter. She followed a wandering course, often veering off to investigate some particularly fascinating burrow or rock before continuing on her way. It was a big world out there, after all, and she wanted to see every bit of it.
Suddenly the breeze changed, and she caught a familiar scent from up ahead. She gave a shout of delight and immediately crashed through the tall grass toward it at full speed until she burst out onto the riverbank. That lioness had been so nice when she and Bai Shan met her before. She didn’t even care that the rude cub seemed to be with her again.Bai Shan ambled along idly, watching to make sure Hibana didn’t get into any trouble with all her investigations. He still couldn’t decide whether he had adopted her, or she had adopted him, but life was looking good. The mischievous little cub had brought something new into his life, and although he would never admit it, he was as fond of her as she was of him. He caught the new scents an instant after Hibana did, and though he didn’t follow her in her mad stampede, his pace quickened a bit. That beautiful lioness – Luna, was she called? – had been very friendly. Maybe she could even help him keep Hibana occupied before she stuck her nose into something that bit back.

Luna smiled as a little cub practically crashed into her she flipped over and pawed at the cub. "Hello sweetie!" She smiled and looked around. "Where is the big lug you travel with?" She winked at the cub as the lion walked through the bushed. "Hello Sir Bai." She bowed in a way and slide her position into a sit. "Tai!" She called out at the cub in the water. "It is nice to see you two again." She wrapped her tail around Tiernay and pulled him a little closer. "Right Tie?" She nudged the cub.
"Great." Tie muttered at the other cub came barreling through the bushes as his mother wrapped her tail around him, he pinned his ears back and glared at the other two lions. "Yes perfect." He said in a slightly nice way a hint of sarcasm was still in his voice and he sat back on his haunches still eyeing the other two.

"Hello, Misses Luna!" Hibana beamed as she skidded to a stop just short of falling into the water. "Hello, Tiernay," she said politely. This time she would be nice to him if it killed her, which it very well might. Could he possibly try not be so bad-tempered and sulky all the time?
She giggled at hearing Bai Shan referred to as a big lug. "He's right behind me, I think," she said, "He is awful big, isn't he? And ugly." Hibana turned around to grin at Bai Shan teasingly.
"That 'big lug' is right here," Bai Shan grumbled as he padded into view. "Sir Bai? One minute you're calling me a big lug, the next minute 'Sir'? And... ugly? I can't win with you two." He shook his head in mock exasperation. "So how have you been faring since we saw you last? I trust you've been taking care of your mother, Tiernay?"

Luna laughed and let out a smiled. "We have been doing good, we made a make shift den not that far from here." She nuzzled Tiernay. "He has been a big help to me, I've never been happier." She smiled warmly and licked Tie's forehead.
"....Hi." He said to the other cub, he made a slight face when his mother licked his forehead, she was messing up his hair, he pawed at it for a moment and listioned to Luna talk. "Yes Sir." He awnsered Bai and then went back to making a slight face.
"How have you two been?"

"We've been doing fairly well, too," Bai Shan replied, flicking his tail as he settled down onto the dirt with a sigh. "Hibana found us a good piece of land to settle down on for a while, but I can't keep her still for long, and the last few days she's been begging to go exploring again." He shook his head in amusement. "Probably she'll have us move around another five times before she's satisfied."
Now that he mentioned it, Hibana had seen an interesting plot on the way here, with a huge flat rock that would be perfect for sunbathing in the mornings. But meanwhile she was all hot and dusty from her trek, with bits of grass stuck in her fur. As Luna licked Tiernay, she noticed that he seemed to be dripping wet; he must have been in the water before they arrived. And that river did look nice and cool on this hot day, with lots of interesting little eddies and swirls that spoke of possible fish beneath the water. Hibana wanted to jump right in - but Luna and Tiernay had been here first, so they had claims on it. "Would you mind if I went in your river?" she asked the other cub hesitantly.

Luna nodded and laughed to the male. He turned to the female and smiled. "Of course darling." She smiled and nuzzled the cub. She sat back and looked at Bai.
Tiernay smiled and slunked behind her and pawed at the water watching the cub and slowly slunk into the water.
"Bai I have a question for you?" Luna asked with her ears back lightly. She pawed her face for a moment. "I want to know you and Hib, wants to stay with me and Tie." She smiled as Tei started walking into the water. "Its hard to tell but he is starting to like you guys a little more."

Without waiting for approval from Bai Shan, Hibana leapt into the water. It was cool, and gave everything an interesting green tint when she opened her eyes. The shafts of sunlight that filtered through looked really pretty, too, but it was getting hard to breathe under there. Sputtering, she broke the surface just in time to see Tiernay follow her in. "The water's great, isn't it?" she laughed.
Bai Shan was taken aback by the question. They'd known each other only a short time and she was already willing to let them stay with her and Tiernay? That was very generous. And trusting. But then again, lions were social creatures, and after so many years traveling on his own it was refreshing to be with others of his kind. Luna probably felt the same way. He was willing, but... "That's very kind of you," he said, "but I don't want to impose on you and Tiernay." I wouldn't impose Hibana on anyone, he thought to himself, chuckling inwardly.

 His dark eyes glanced his surroundings. How long had it been since his pursuit of his adversary, the Claw? How many agonizing days until he finally reached his wife's killer only to have the old man escape him once again?
Van gave a deep throated sigh. He was extremely tired of this game, and with no end in sight, what else could he do? His days were filled with nothing but wanderings now, as if that would clear his head. But the fact that how he ended up here still plagued him. And in this form?
He wondered if anyone else was around.
Hunkering his head downward, he proceeded to walk forward, paws marring the terrain below his feet. He didn't notice the group that he passed as he strode onward. Anya took a deep breath, the wind lightly caressing her features. She had traveled far and wound up here, in a mysterious land that just begged for exploration. The cub within her seemed to tingle with a sense of adventure as she bounded forward. Noticing a group not too far off, she called out to them, as well as to the lion with that hat that seemed to be sauntering along.
"Hello!" She called out to the lions and the cubs, her smile wide and fanged "How do you do?" Her voice was light and playful as she stopped close to them, keeping a little distance.

Luna laughed. "It would be perfectly fine!" She smiled and nodded.She nodded as she looked around hearing and smelling a lion or lions coming. "Hello! Welcome!" She turned around. "My name is Luna and the little brown cub is Tiernay, who are you?" She asked lightly.
Tiernay gave a slight laugh himself. He slide into the water himself some layed down where his chin lightly rested on the water. He flicked his tail back and forth. "Your right."

Bai Shan turned, hearing the voice of another lioness from behind him. She politely hadn't approached far before greeting them, and from here all he could make out through the tall grass was that she was female, and brightly colored. A brief ripple in the grass caught his attention; another lion seemed to be passing that way too, though the silhouette was... odd. He wondered if the other would stop too. "Hello yourself!" he called back to her. "You can come closer, you know; we don't bite. Usually." He smiled to take the threat out of it before turning back to Luna to answer. "Well, if it really is all right with you, I would like that, thank you. A little company is always nice, especially when it's good company," he said, chuckling.
Maybe Luna was right about Tiernay. Or maybe they had just met him first on a bad day. Or maybe Bai Shan had actually been right about how being nice pays off. Whatever the reason, Hibana was happy to be enjoying herself with someone her own age. She could see Bai Shan watching approvingly from the bank, and felt a little glow of pleasure. She smiled back at the cub happily and splashed a little water at him - only a little - before taking a deep breath and ducking back down under the surface again.

Van stopped, looking over at the large group of lions. He said nothing, but only stared in slight curiosity. Would they know something of this world, possibly? And if they saw others, like him? He was a bit shy, not wanting to say anything, and yet he didn't feel like wandering so much. So, he waited, staying a bit far off in the grasses.
Anya smiled. "Why thank you!" She trotted over to the group, giving a gentle chuff to the cubs as a hello before looking at the adults. "I'm Anya, it's a pleasure to meet you Luna and Tiernay." She turned to the male and the other cub. "What are your names if you don't mind me asking?" Her head was tilted in an inquisitive manner, eyes alive with energy. The lioness seemed to be bouncing with slight energy, muscles twitching. "Beautiful day, huh?"

Luna smiled. "It is very nice to meet you Anya!" She smiled and gave another slight bow looking around smelling the air. "Yes it is a very nice day!" She smiled and leaned on her back paws some. She wrapped her tail around her back leg and peaked over a the cubs for a moment. "Is some one elses there?" She looked around trying to pin point the smell of the other lioness... or lion, at the moment she could not tell. She smiled and sat up on her hind legs a bit.
Tiernay laughed and pawed at Hibana. He hald his breath after she ducked under the water and followed. He sould swim pretty good for a lion. He did however a few time had to swim back upto the surface. At one point when he saw the other female, he turned and looked at Hibana. "Mabye we should go up there too."

Hibana was, of course, a terrible swimmer. The few fish she had seen made it look so easy, but she was finding that the water made her limbs move so much slower, and she hadn't yet discovered whatever trick it was that let the fish stay down there without breathing. Finally she gave up and thrashed her way to the surface again, only to see Tiernay had followed her and was evidently having more success with this swimming business. She felt a flash of jealousy, quickly suppressed.
But at his suggestion, Hibana suddenly became aware of the new lioness who had joined the two on the bank. Someone new! Without bothering to respond, she leapt up onto the bank and streaked over to join the group. So the lioness' name was Anya, huh? It had been only a few moments since she first saw her, yet she had already decided that she liked the lioness. Anya's energy was incredibly infectious and she found herself jumping to answer the question. "I'm Hibana, pleased to meetcha," she said. "So's Bai Shan. And it is nice out, isn't it?"
Bai Shan watched in amusement as the dripping wet Hibana scampered over to join them as fast as she could. She didn't even seem to notice that a large quantity of dust had stuck to her wet fur in the process and was fast turning from mud to a cracked shell in the heat. He gave a snort of laughter as the little cub apparently decided that he was incapable of answering for himself. "I can tell her that myself, thank you very much," he told Hibana, tickling her with his tail. "As she says, I'm Bai Shan. Is that other lion with you?" The movement in the grass seemed to have stopped, as if he or she was waiting for something.
