How do I know when it is appropriate to make use of moderator abilities, such as deleting/editing threads or moving things?
I think you have pretty good judgement. But since we're not having any huge problems right now with trolls, you can be pretty light handed. Definately delete or edit threads if they violate Gaia TOS, other than that, when in doubt you can just lock the thread and PM me about it. There isn't much you can do about moving threads. You may make announcements and Stickies if you want because we can always change them afterwards.
