Role Playing Mostly this will be a place to RP with my own unis, though I will also link back to RPs within the shop. This does not have many of my initial RPs because I could not find them all... Feel free to look around, but please PM me before posting.

ChibiPoet *continuing Matsunaga & Levensita meeting*  [[ Levensita and Matsunaga had moved off from the main buildings near a small stream. Though far enough to feel quite alone, they appeared to still be near enough to certain unicorns either spending their shine or glow (or perhaps just one who'd lit a large area) that they could see clearly enough to avoid running into the trees or tripping over stones.
Levensita commented, rather bluntly, "Is it common for the ones here to have only two legs as apposed to four?" Matsunaga was a bit shoked actually, he'd hoped his shadow trickery would keep him hidden, but either she was more skilled than he, or he hadn't been as careful as he thought.
"As far as I know, no. I've met no others like me." And he prefered it that way, to be unique among the unicorns. He didn't believe Tsuji for a moment that she'd met a dust unicorn like himself. No, she was simply making it up to anger him.
Levensita made no reply, and took a drink of the cool stream. Matsunaga began to grow nervous, did his appearance displease her? Would she think less of him? He'd never cared what anyone thought before. ]]
Elsewhere... Note: The majority of the herd is outside the barrier, just at it's edge and currently fending off darkling attacks. They've been split up, with neither group knowing where the other is. [[[ Lightening shot from a cloudless sky into the back of a snarling yackdel, but quickly two more rose up in it's place. It seemed they'd come across not one small pack, but many. The golden stallion who controled the lightening reared up as one got too close. He struck with his forelimbs only to strike at a blur, connecting somewhere on the yackdel's body but not directly or in a vital area. His feathered wings of leather were risen and flared, making himself larger but only serving to make the smallest of the yackdel's too nervous to run at him.
The same reptilian creature that charged as before, took another run at the stallion, only to have the ground break apart underneith his feet, making him stumble and easy prey for another lightening bolt.
"How much longer will they come!?" was the despirate cry of the earth mare beside him. She was a patchwork of browns and greens with the same wings as him, but more relaxed.
Instead of letting his bolt disappate after slaying the recent yackdel, he sent the electricity spinning into the pack, stunning many. His wings went slack though, he had not enough energy to keep up such attacks.
"Yenzo!" The earth mare glanced behind her where a shivvering mud mare could barely keep her balance, so distraught was she. "Arzela, I know you're afraid, but we need your help! We need you! Please!" ]]]

RPed with EE ChibiPoet [ A pale green and brown unicorn sat sullenly a few paces form the barier's opening. She was unnaware of the two unicorns on guard duty who were watching for Darklings and had on occation tried to speak with her. They'd given up.
She'd moved only to eat for a day now, and not much at that. She'd been led around the Agency by Ny'alde when the barrier first went up, but hadn't spoken to anyone since then. ]
Eagleyes Three unis wandered near the gate. The blue one was bouncing around like a little foal, while the other two listened. The water suddenly caught sight of another uni near the gate and bounded over excitedly, her voice hyper-active. "Hello.I'mMoana.ThishereisTolanandDamekandthey'retiredoflisteningtome, soI'mhopingyou'lltalktome. So," she suddenly slowed down. "What's your name?" The other two had come nearby at this point and - with a single groan - flopped to the ground. ChibiPoet [ Either it was just that no one else had tried hard enough, or the sheer peculiarity with which the water mare spoke, but while Emmy didn't respond verbally, she did turn her gaze to look at all three. ]
Eagleyes Moana blinked as she waited a moment for the other to give her name before continuing. "Sowhatdoyouwanttotalkabout?Doyouknowwhathappenedeariler?Theotherswon'ttellme. TheysayI'mtooyoungandthatthey'lltellmewhenI'molderbutIwanttoknowNOW!" She paused another moment, allowing all that to sink in. Tolan and Damek moaned as they tried to cover their ears with their hooves. She was at it again. ChibiPoet [ Something seemed to flicker through Emmy's eyes, then her mouth twitched a bit. After a few dazed blinks she finally began laughing. It was a merry laugh and it felt good. She swayed a bit, almost loosing balance.
As her laughter died out she shook her head and though her eyes became sad again, she spoke. "I don't mean to laugh at you... Moana? I... My name is Emmy." She paused to collect her thoughts. "I know I wouldn't want to be kept in the dark, so I guess I could tell you what I know, but it isn't much." ]
Eagleyes Moana's ears drooped at the sound of Emmy's laughter, but pricked up again at the sound of her voice. She tried hard this time to speak slower and more clearly. "Nice to meet you Emmy." She pranced in place a littleand her speech started to run together in places. "Sowhat do you know about whathappened?" Her eyes lit up at the hope of knowing what was going on! Tolan and Damek looked at each other. They knew Moana could act like an adult at times, but would this be one of them once she found out? Llaerihn [ Emmy sort of gave a nod after Moana's nice to meet you. She pondered how to start, since there were quite a few things she did not know yet.
"I used to live my life with my herd in the Wild. Sure there were dangers, but Cantor was a great leader..." she trailed off sadly, she couldn't speak of him. Not if he was...
"But things had gotten quite rapidly worse. We did not know why, so Cantor felt it best we move toward the Agency. I found out later that someone had brought a young darkling through the old barier which guarded the Agency, desroying it. It sent a terrible ripple through the earth." She shuddered to remember it. ]
*pause for dramatic affect* Eagleyes ((x.x You changed accounts, didn't you...)) Moana listened intently, wondering what would happen next. There was a darkling, in the agency? Hopefully it wasn't around anymore! Tolan and Damek exchanged glances again. This was news to them. Of course, the entire herd was indoors at the time, so none of them knew much. Just some... Llaerihn *yea... sorry... started doing shop stuff... sweatdrop * [ All of this happened before Cantor and his herd reached the Agency. "Cantor was the only one of us who'd even been to the Agency, I'd never seen it before. He seemed distressed when he saw it and made us hold back for a bit. I think it was because he knew the barier was down, but I don't know." She found it a bit easier to talk about him... but didn't know for how long.
"I saw Tsuji, one of our herd, going off along and I followed her. I didn't want her to get lost... But..." Emmy's voice became strained, tears welling in her eays (if horses have tears to cry that is).
"And then I couldn't see anyone anymore! There was.. this new white barier... it cut us off form the herd... from Cantor... from Emil-" She stopped abruptly when she thought of her daughter. ]
Eagleyes ((Ah... *peers into the shop*)) Moana was taken aback for once. She blinked, not knowing what to say. She hesitated, then moved closer to the other uni, hoping to offer comfort. Tolan chose then to speak up. "Perhaps our herd," he gestured to himself, Damak, and Moana as he said this, "should offer to go seek them out? Do you know how close to the barrier they were before it came up?" He hated seeing any uni cut off from it's herd. He knew he was permanently cut off from his childhood one; they were all dead. Llaerihn [ She didn't remember the names of the other two unicorns Moana had introduced. She nodded though, "Thank you for the offer. I would go myself if I knew I could handle the wild alone. It has gotten worse. If it is only the three of you though... I don't know if we would make it."
She didn't mean to sound insulting, it wasn't her way. It was more that her sadness made her feel defeated. She likely wouldn't think that less than a dozen unicorns could make it out there alone. Part of why she feared those she loved were lost to her. ]
Eagleyes Damek chose then to snort with amusement. "We have the unis needed to make such a journey. How many of us do you want to accompany you?" Llaerihn [ Emil was shocked silent for a moment, they really were going to help. They weren't simply trying to say nice things to make her happy. "As many as will come. I... I've lost all sence of direction with this barier in place. I do not know where the herd will be, but we were very close. I was still within sight of the others when the barier dropped between us." ]
*can we continue another time with the others meeting Emmy back here?* Eagleyes Moana muttered something like, "All twenty-two of us then," under her breath as Damek responded, "Then we will bring the entire herd." ((Sure!))

ChibiPoet [[[ Mingda hid behind a small boulder, watching as the other two took turns cloudforming and then solidifying to strike agian at the Cha'ra. Normally a Cha'ra would have run off by now, knowing full well this fight was going to end badly. But Cantor would not let it be so. His pride had been wounded and only this darkling's death could heal it.
Mist-like Morera charged at the darkling's front, distracting it while Cantor's own cloudy mist disipated and he struck hard at the creature's back with both forelimbs. His face was rage-contorted as he struck again and again, hardly noticing that the beast was staggering and turning around.
"Cantor! The stallion raised his head, dazed, and saw barely in time the Cha'ra unsteadily raising an arm to strike him. The blow landed across his neck, and though the Cha'ra was weak, the force simply of letting the arm drop was enough to make Cantor stumble to his knees.
"Hssss," Morera had solidified as well and struck the Cha'ra on the side. But she had the sence to become purple mist before striking again. She forced the Cha'ra back, further from the barier which made a milky backdrop to all their battles. It wasn't hard as he already wished to make an escape.
Mingda came out form hiding to rush to Cantor's side. She looked at him with a mix of fear and concern... fear for the unicorn he became whenever these fights happened. And concern for his labored breathing. She placed her neck beneith his head and helped him stand; all the while Morera continued to hound the Cha'ra until it finally used it's last energy to begin a full out run.
"Father..." came Morera's haunting hiss of a voice. She touched her face to his neck and he jerked away.
"The beast was ours, and you let it get away! It will only regain strength to attack again some day!" He glared at his daughter, and his anger only seemed to multiply as he saw his glare had little affect.
"He will not come back to us... he will be too afraid..." she said coldly. She held his gaze, but seemed to tire of the posturing and bowed her head to his, walking off toward the barrier. ]]]
ChibiPoet [[ He makes himself so obvious, so plain. It would be cruel not to use him... Levensita thougth to herself. After taking her drink, she looked him squarely in the eye. "Then you are honored indeed to be so unique," she practically purred her words.
Though still a bit disturbed by simply the sound of her voice, Matsunaga was delighted by her words, though somewhere the back of his mind thought, My sire and dam certainly didn't think so... He came to join her by the stream, taking a refreshing drink as well. He dropped his hold on the shadows he wrapped around his back-half.
Levensita had to stiffle a pause, for she'd only been guessing at what he hid. But he hid... a deformation. What had done this to him? ]]
*hehe, poor Matsunaga...*

RPed with EE Eagleyes ((*nods* Want me to add my 6 new unis since then or not?)) Moana bounced off to get the rest of the herd, Damek in close pursuit. Tolan made a face, but stayed near Emmy. Eagleyes (( xp I'll try to do them all! >> But I may skip names every so often...)) Tolan waited silently for a moment to allow Moana and Damek time to get back. He finally stirred and asked Emmy, "Are you the only one of your herd inside the barrier, or are there others?" He wondered if perhaps they should get what herd of hers together before they went to find the others. ChibiPoet ((I'm sort of melding an RP from earlier...)) Emmy glanced about. "I should find the others.." she said trailing off. Who all had been able to stay in the barrier? She wasn't even sure... she recalled seeing Tsuji at some point, and Lovelace. Maybe they had seen other. Then it seemed from nowhere came two love unis racing across the grounds, Lovelace and one Emmy did not recognize. They made a turn though and were heading straight for her and Tolan! "Lovelace, whoa!" Lovelace came to an abrupt stop, Emmy darting out of the way in time. "Sorry Emmy," he said breathlessly. "Lovelace... it's time. We're going to seek Cantor and the others out..." she glanced at the other love, wondering what Lovelace had been up to. He nodded, glad to see Emmy out of her comatose state. "I know where Mastunaga and another are, I saw them heading for the trees earlier today." He thought for a moment, "If I see Tsuji I'll let her know too." Eagleyes Tolan got up and darted the other way before he lifted an eyebrow in amusement. Well, that answered that question. He turned towards the new unis. Now who were these two? ChibiPoet Lovelace glanced at Tolan. "Recruiting an army, Em?" he asked. "Lovelace, this is Toaln. Tolan, Lovelace and..." she paused. "Eros," Lovelace filled in. ((Who I guess will be silent for now... I don't recall if he was going to come or not.)) "Just tell me the direction Matsunaga and... whoever it was went and I'll get them while you find Tsuji." Emmy didn't have to be the one to tell Tsuji what they were up to. Eagleyes Tolan bobbed his head in greetings to Lovelace and Eros. Moana chose that moment (supposedly) to come racing in with her usual entusiasim, an entire herd racing behind her. She came to an abrupt stop before Tolan, and cheerfully said, "Got 'em!" Tolan groaned, and hid an embarresed blush behind one leg. That child was entirely too active. Damek slowly walked forward, as if careful to mantain his balance. He carefully cleared his throat, before saying in a sorry tone, "Someone may want to explain better to the herd what's going on. I'm afraid Moana wasn't... very precise in saying what she wanted everyone for... thus the speed." ChibiPoet Lovelace nodded and indicated where Matsunaga would likely be. "I'll find her then," he said. As he turned to leave he waited for the quick explination from... well he didn't know the uni. Then as he left he was shaking his head and laughing, what a sight! "Oh... uh...um..." with each non-word Emmy's voice got a bit smaller, she wasn't one for public speaking and looked at the other two, Talon and Moana, with a pleading look in her eyes. Eagleyes Moana blew a snort in Damek's direction and explained herself, "All I did was say that there was a darkling in the agency and that we needed to help Emmy here find the rest of her herd. Aren't those both true?" Damek about choked. "You may them sound as if they were connected." "They weren't?" Tolan rolled his eyes at both of them and surveyed the herd. Hm. Were there some new unis from the last time he saw them? He turned towards Emmy... who seemed to be pleading for something. He tilted his head sideways for a moment, before righting it and asking, "Yes?" ChibiPoet "Will you guys get things cleared up with your herd... I should go find Matsunaga..." She really wanted to avoid speaking to so many unis at once. Eagleyes While they weren't before, now all eyes were on Emmy. "Sure you don't want some help? I mean... in finding anyone within the barrier?" A voice asked. A white, dragonfly-winged uni timidly stepped out of the mass towards Emmy and bowed towards her. "I'm Karli." ChibiPoet Emmy was trying really hard not to shake. She stepped back in surprise when Karli came forward and tookm a moment to calm herself. "There really aren't many others, Matsunaga and whoever the uni was Lace saw him with... You could come if you like," she said, trying to ignore the others at this point in order to keep her voice steady. Eagleyes Karli nodded then came up to Emmy's side. "Shall we start looking then?" Tolan sighed, then said, "The rest of us will wait here and sort Moana's story out..." Moana looked sheepish. ((*grabs Syrcaid's latest and kisses it* redface Dunno what perlinos are, but that's pretty!)) ChibiPoet ((Same here, don't have a clue what more horses are named, but it's pretty all the same. smile )) Emmy led the way through some trees and they came to a stream where they could hear voices not too far away. "So tell me more of your herd, what do they think of your... uniqueness," a voice hissed. It was frightening and seductive all at once. Then Emmy recognized Matsunaga as he answered. "I keep my herd in line, do not doubt that. However I can sence certain... prejudices..." Emmy sped up down the stream, looking rather angry, until she spotted the pair. "YOUR herd!" she shouted. "Cantor is lost on the other side of the barier and you're already talking as though he's dead!" Her voice was getting louder, higher pitched too. Eagleyes Karli followed Emmy through the trees, and listened to the voices. She was startled into a run to kepe up with Emmy as the earth mare sped up. She came to a halt next to Emmy and winced. Well, one more found... or was it two? She eyed both. Wait... what happened to the one's back legs? She stared with wide eyes in awe. What darkling did that? ChibiPoet "Cantor, hm? And who might this be?" the hissing mare asked. "Emmy, no. I mean, it's not like that..." He glanced at Karli. "Who's this?" he asked. "DON'T change the subject!" Emmy advanced on Matsunaga. "You've been nothing but a pain since Camtor found you! Whatever arrangement you two made, I DOUBT it has to do with YOU asking acting in his sted!" The unknown mare simply watched, she seemed amused by the whole thing. Eagleyes Karli was about to say who she was when Emmy responded. She shut up and watched instead. How often did one get to see this? ChibiPoet Emmy sighed, she was angry... too angry to speak calmly, but they were running out of time. It may already be too late... With gritted teath, she spoke. "We are going outside the barrier to find Cantor. YOU are coming too," she added. It was only fitting he risk his life for Cantor, he seemed to value nothing else but his own life, let him put it on the line then to show his loyalty. Matsunaga slowly backed away. "There must be another way... I'm sure Cantor can make it back on his own..." "NO! We are going, and you are coming, NOW!" At this point the mare gave Matsunaga a scathing look and came up to Emmy. "I shall come as well then," she said. "You've no part-" Emmy began to say harshly. "No? I assumed I was joining a herd under Matsunaga's banner. Instead I shall follow the one he should have served." Her logic seemed flawed to Emmy, but at this point she didn't carem they had to get moving. "Fine, come, whatever," she said, her anger having finally boiled over and disapated. She would not look at Matsunaga though as they headed to meet the others near the barrier. Eagleyes ((*kicks the computer, and brings up Task Manager just to quit having that annoying window pull up*)) Karli's ears perked forward at all this, then fluttered her wings slightly with glee as she followed Emmy back. "Does this mean we have everyone inside the barrier?" ChibiPoet "Oh, un so long as Lace finds Tsuji, then I think so." She wasn't really sure who else was within the barrier but she didn't want to take the time to find them. As they met back wit the group, she saw Lovelace coming back with three unis in tow, one looking oddly similar to Lace... "'eh Em, found Tsuji. And this," he indicated a striped celetsial, "Is my son Lusim. And this is Jayadeva, a mare he met and invited along." Emmy's head was spinning... with so many, maybe they should split up into two groups. ((And now I must go. We''l do the dividing and venturing forth later I suppose. Will you still be here in a few hours?)) Eagleyes ((Hopefully. May be out to dinner then, but I'll be back on before I go to bed... 3nodding )) Karli's eyes lit up. More new unis! Maybe her herd was right in saying she had entirely too much fun meeting new unis. ((So where is Rosenhain?))

"Going to watch all night? And what will we do with you too tired to fight?" came the voice of a dark green and brown mare. Yenzo did not respond, so Emil came closer and stood by him. "Will you still not speak to me?" she asked in a pained voice.
Yenzo turned his face away from her hurt expression, and then he turned more to look at the two remaining unis behind them. It had been just the three of them for most of this time outside the barrier, but a fourth had joined them about a full day ago.
"Why did you tell no one about the ingot?" he finally asked, still not looking at her.
Emil snorted, "What difference would it have made!" she snapped, eyes flashing as she bored holes into his shouler and still he did not look at her. "Would I have been made to stay back! To not fight!"
Yenzo got up, and gave her a disgusted look. "You'll wake the others going on like that. Good night." He turned to leave her, she struck thr ground and tossed her head but said nothing as he walked away. He was so tired that he was asleep before even completely settling himself on the cold ground.
Emil turned her back on the trio to take her watch, she had meant to ask Yenzo what the darklings had been up to. If they'd come any closer during the night. Now she could see for herself that they had. She sighed and shook her head. This would not go well.
"He'll get over it," Emil jumped, she hadn't known Arzela was awake. "Did I wake you?" Arzela nodded and came to rest beside Emil. "But I've not been sleeping through the night since we were trapped out here. Don't worry about it." Emil noticed that Arzela sounded more confident, she wondered why but did not ask.
Emil's mind went back to Arzela's first words and she snorted. "He can sulk all he wants! I don't care!" She realized her voice was again too loud, and she sighed.
"He sulks because he cares, Emil. You could not even tell us who joined with you to create Zorn, how do you suppose he feels about that?"
"Well why should he care! There was something in those apples... we all got a bit out of control." Though she had only carried one ingot with her, Emil knew she'd somehow joined with at least three unis to create new life.
"I should hope you aren't so blind to his feelings, or to your own Emil," said the older mare as she got back up. "I'm feeling tired again, I think I'll go back to sleep."
Emil watched, a bit confused, as Arzela went to lay between Zorn and Yenzo. What feelings? She's mad in the head... Emil tried to keep Arzela's words in the farthest reaches of her mind as she watched the glittering eyes of the darklings. Not much happened for the rest of the night until somewhere near dawk when it seemed the two groups (Emil wasn't sure what species was even out there right now) happened to find eachother and began fighting. That'll thin them... Emil thought to herself with a bit of hope.

ChibiPoet Eagleyes Tolan thought about it for a moment, then turned towards the herd. He was waiting for someone. Finally, a rather young-looking purple time uni stepped out of the group, followed by a elderly-looking air uni. The purple one spoke first. "I am Saniya, current leader of this herd. This here," she inclined her head towards the air mare, "is Evanescence, the eldest of us." She actually backed away some, clearly letting Evane decide. Evane coughed gently, then said, "Spliting up sounds good. Perhaps there should be some of your herd in both groups, in case we come across the missing ones." She smiled wryly uni-style. "I would hate for there to be a misunderstanding because they didn't know us, and us them..." ChibiPoet "Yes, I agree," Emmy said, glad they were open to splitting up. "Whoever has the most patience among you should take Matsunaga... he is not easy to get along with." Emmy first wondered if she need take into account the various abilities of those she knew, but seeing that Tolan and the others had so many with them... having a variety of abilities didn't seem a problem. Lovelace cam up beside Emmy. "I'll go with him. The nightmare doesn't seem to want to leave him and..." he lowered his voice. "I don't trust them together. Look after Lusim for me, will you?" He gave a wink and walked off to one side. "Naga! You're with Lovelace," Emmy said commandingly. The shadow uni's pride was still too wounded for him to argue. As Lovelace knew, the nightmare followed him. Jayadeva, the permafrost, followed Lusim to Emmy's side. "What about me?" Tsuji asked, clearly annoyed. Eagleyes Evane thought for a moment, knowing each uni's strengths and weakness, then started ordering the unis into two groups. There was a chaotic moment before the unis began to break apart. Some complained, but most silently went where they were told. Evane silented the objections, and worked out who would go where. Finally, the unis were spilt into two groups: one behind Evane, and one behind Tolan, since he was second eldest. Evane looked them over, then turned to Emmy. "Which group do you want?" ((>< In the effort to post this, I'll leave the names out for now while I put the lists together... >> Assuming you want lists...)) ChibiPoet Emmy hoped the elder uni wouldn't mind being saddled with Matsunaga, she felt very comfortable with Tolan and went to stand by him. Then to answer Tsuji's question, "You can choose for yourself Tsuji, I won't tell you what to do." She actually thought the fire uni would have prefered that, but Tsuji just huffed and walked over to the group with Matsunaga and the others. Emmy just assumed she'd rather deal with the naga than choose to be with Emmy. ((Yup, lists are good. smile ))

Just pretend they just walked through the gates? >> Although this is just and add-on to the last post...)) Evane's muzzle twitched as Emmy decided to go with Tolan, leaving her to keep her more curious of the herd from pestering any of Emmy's herdmates. "Well, this everyone?" Tolan blinked at the sheer size of the herd behind him. He had to lead all them? At least he had the more mild-mannered ones... (( xd And I knew one would go to Aqua! *ish @ Quick* You got name and what-not?)) ChibiPoet [[ Just to get warmed up, I'm going to do a quick single RP post for one of my outside groups. ]] It was blessedly quiet for the moment as Arzela and Zorn slept, Emil watched over them nearby while Yenzo stood guard at the entrace to the small cave they had found. It was little more than some leaning rocks with thick folliage on either side to block the wind. The earth mare sighed, glancing at her son, Zorn. She still didn't know how it had happened, she couldn't remember much of that day beside something about apples. But all the same, Yenzo seemed incapable of forgiving her. "Hey. It's time to switch." Emil looked up at the golden stallion. He was so lovely... and yet his eyes were so cold and distant. "I-" "No. I'm going to sleep," he said. He roughly nudged Zorn, ignoring Emil's sudden protest to be gentil. "Get up, brighty. Make sure to roll in some mud or something so that you're not so bright and attract all the darklings this time." Yenzo too was just as bright, he just didn't seem to notice. Emil shot a dark look at Yenzo and got up. "Come, I'll watch with you for a while." The sonic uni nuzzled his mother, despite being the same size as her he was still newly formed and still a bit childish. He loved his mother and grandmother, and feared Yenzo. "Thanks," he murmered against her neck as they went off together to stand guard. --- Emmy nodded. "Let's hope it's enough," she said in responce. Emmy ran a worried glance over those she was leaving with the other group. She knew how much Matsunaga liked to tease and torment Tsuji... and that was what made her curious and worried about why the mare had chosen to go with him. Eagleyes Evane and Tolan both nodded agreement with Emmy's statement. Hopefully, they would be enough. Karli was just itching to get near the naga uni and ask what darking fused his back legs and tail together, for she couldn't imagine a uni starting out with a tail like that. Several other unis snorted or shifted nervously, depending on their personality as all thought about what lay beyond the gate before them. Evane finally sighed at the lot of them and took a step forward, then another. "You want left or right Emmy?" ((*puts info into registry* You're welcome Chibi. 3nodding )) ChibiPoet [[ Cool. She could find Cantor and he'd be OK and everything would be as it was... Emmy just went right on kidding herself that things would be normal again. She made a quick left-then-right look and sighed. One way was just as good as the other, right? "Left," she said. Since Evane had asked her she figured she'd at least give a confident answer. She took several more steps towards the gate, preparing to go right and fight whatever darklings they may meet, and save any unis they meet. It wasn't that he thought he would see him again, more that he just didn't like being away from him yet. Still quite young, Lusim didn't catch on to the gravity of the situation. Just that daddy was leaving. Emmy stood by him and gave him a breif nuzzle. She missed her own child, though Emil was much older now. Tsuji threaded her way through the throng - really, did this many need to go? - to stand near Matsunaga. He gave her a "What do you want?" look to which she snorted. Amused. He had been taken down a peg and she wanted to know how. And why. "Emmy has certainly taken you in hand," she said conversationaly, giving him a sidelong look. He only snorted and looked away. Lovelace came up beside Evane. "I know splitting even further is probably not something we'd like to do, but perhaps one or two could be sent ahead as scouts." Lace wasn't much of a commander, but he did love giving advice. He didn't usually care either way if someone took it though. Eagleyes (( xd Yes. Evane is short for Evanescence. I would never be able to rp her much if I had to spell out her entire name every time. Ok. Since Tolan/Emmy's group is going left, they'll be the ones to get the the stream first, more so if everyone going out the north gate, like I think they are... >< *mourns the loss of the agency map*)) Evane thought about what Lovelace said, then nodded her head. "One from each herd, each group, or both?" She asked, even as she turned her head to survey both groups. Which uni or unis would be the best for that job? Someone with Flight or wings, preferably both. ChibiPoet "Oh, whoever would be best fo the job," he said casually. It didn't matter to him who went. He wondered for a moment if she thought he was trying to get rid of Matsunaga. Certainly his ability to blend with the shadows would be useful, but he was rather slow. Not good in a scout who needed to cover twice as much ground as everyone else by running - or flying - ahead and coming back to report what was coming. He looked over their group. "What traits do you think most useful? Dark, perhaps. So as to avoid notice... and quick, to come back and go ahead often..." He trailed off, he didn't know her herd well enough to make suggestions and that bothered him. He liked knowing, knowing was the best way to give good advice. "Of Cantor's herd, well Tsuji has speed, but she's brightly colored. And I don't know anything about Leve-" "Scouts you say?" cam a familiar hissing voice. The nightmare mare had gone away from Matsunaga's side to come listen to the two unis speak. Power drew her, and currently Evane was the main power source. "I can scout," she said, her voice still witrh that eerie hissing quality. Meanwhile....... "GET DOWN!" A stream of water dashed over the head of a young mare as she huddled to the river's bank. The water hit a darkling square in the... chest? It was difficult to tell one part from another on this pack that had attacked them. They were a mass of fur and teeth and little else. The darkling struggled to stay standing, gurgling against the water that threatened to drown it while standing up! Just as it seemed to regain its footing a dark brown horn blossomed from it's probably-chest. The thing quivered and was still. An anti-climactic death for such a fearce creature. The stallion who had impaled the creature with his horn angrily shook his head to free himself of the stinking, dead thing. He calmly rubbed his horn in the grass, heedless of the two others like it which were running toward him and his two companions. Family, really. His mate in the water and his daughter on the bank. "You are to learn from Urysohn, Emory dear. Try, please?" He looked pleadingly at her and then focused on the two darklings which were less than 100 paces away now. Thin pillars of earth erupted beneith the feet of one, that was Vitellio's work. Of the elements water and earth, he used earth best. "I see it! I see it! There, to the south-east. A shining wall!" Vitellio whiped his head in the direction he heard. Could it really be? Were they near that place known as the Agency. What he saw - or maybe only thought he saw... wishful thinking may have addled his mind. What he saw did not exactly fit the description he'd heard many years ago, but it would have to be close enough. "We need to get-" Vitellio's shout cut off as more dark shapes began to rush at them. They were between the group and those shining walls. A mass of them, more than a dozen. How would they ever get through? Eagleyes ((*blinkblink* x.x; *has to take a few minutes to make sure she didn't miss any detail*)) Evane fought down a shiver as a female nightmare uni came close and... well, volunteered to scout. She took a moment to look the other uni over even as she thought to herself, Yes, yes you can scout. She dipped her head in a brief nod, not trusting hereslf to speak. Despite her age, this was her first encounter with a uni of the nightmare element, and it... disturbed her on a level she couldn't properly express. She quickly made her choice and singled out Stain to scout as well. He could hide among the clouds, and was fast as could be. Tolan blinked as he heard someone saying, no, hissing that they could scout and looked over his part of the herd to see which might do. Melantha, for being dark, a Shadow, and able to blend into shadows. Who else... Aatmik, who could go into Cloudform and pretend he was mist. He pointed his horn at both of them and jerked it back, signaling them to come to him. They did (Aatmik with grumbles) and he told them both what they needed to do. They both nodded grimly and set foot outside the gates, both shifting into Cloudform as they slipped away. ((That's ok. It takes me forever to write. I started this just after you posted. sweatdrop )) ChibiPoet [[ And because I haven't mentioned them yet... ]] A soft blue glow illumianted the area around the unis. Cantor supplied the light while Mingda worked at trying healing the ice stallion who had recently joined their group. They didn't even know his name. "What is taking so long," asked Morera, her voice a harsh whisper. Cantor turned to glare at her. Silence was necessary right now. He didn't know if the darklings chacing them could track by smell or by sound, likely it was both and they were running out of time anyway. The four of them had taken shelter beneither a copse of trees whos thick branches hid them from view. But that could do nothing if they gave themselves away with too much sound. Healing wasn't a power of water types, but whatever it was Mingda was doing it had an effect. After a long time the ice stallion shivvered and took a few labored breaths. He caughed and spat up water. They had found him in the stream, likely drowning and thought to be dead. But Morera wouldn't let Cantor just leave him. And now with the noise he was making Cantor regretted the decission. "Keep him quiet," he whispered, "while I check our trail." It seemed that the taint of the darklings had twisted some of the landmarks around the Agency. They had been wandering now for two days without seeing the shining barrier wall. It had been Mindga's idea to begin following a river they found, but Cantor thought that was only because she felt safer by the water. He took one last glance at the three he was leaving behind. Morera had sat beside the stallion, care was noticable in her eyes. Well, that was her choice to get so involved with another uni. Cantor would do nothing to stop it. But if that ice got them all killed... well if he did then Cantor wouldn't be able to do anything about it. But he'd make sure to repay the ice before dieing. [[ Quick note: Mingda didn't heal, she simply used water telekinesis to remove the water from his lungs. Pretty cool, huh. wink ]] --- Emmy glanced back, Levensita was still in earshot and it disturbed her still that the nightmare had been practically conspiring with Matsunaga to see that Cantor did not make it back to his rightful place at the top of the herd. Would that mare do something to ensure Cantor didn't make it back? She shivered too and then watched Tolan pick out some scouts of their own. It was good that he choice from his own herd, among those with Emmy she didn't think there were any who were the best for scouts. Levensita nodded to Stain and then turned with unexpected quickness. A black mist seemed to spread behind her as she shadowed off into the night. And then she was the black mist. There seemed to be an echo of laughter in her wake until she was out of sight. [[ So we're saying stream is left, not-stream is right? OK then. Cantor and his group are also on the stream side, they're just further away from the agencty ATM. ]] Eagleyes ((*blink* Sooo... Tolan's group is going to find two groups? Cantor's and Urysohn's? Hmm... >> Can I have Trynt join Urysohn's group before they're found? And who's going to find Yenzo's group? Evane's group? *is trying to plan here* And yes, water kinesis to remove the water is cool 3nodding *thought that was an awesome use of abilities*)) Evane managed to stand her ground even as Tolan jerked back when the nightmare uni slipped out and shifted into what must have be her cloudform. Saniya took her lead from Evane and stood her ground, even as she was shivering internally. A leader must be strong. A leader must be brave, she chanted to herself. Evane gave the time filly a calming look and leveled her gaze at Stian ((*misspelled his name last time* ><)), who bolted through the gate and up into the air with Flight so fast that he left behind a blur on everyone's sight. She took cautious, firm steps as she approached the gate, and after taking a moment to survey the area, turned right and started to follow the outside edge of the barrier, keeping it in sight at all times. The rest of the herd assigned to follow her did their best to keep the shudders to a minimum as the followed her. ChibiPoet [[ I'll post it now, but if you'd rather wait them I'll edit it out... ]] Zorn, now properly covered with mud and none to please about it, was now the only one awake to watch for the remainder of the night. Emil had actually sat two and a half watches, no longer able to sleep. Too tired even to go back further into their tiny cave. She was asleep beside Zorn. Zorn's ear flicked, he had very good hearing. Likely a trait of sonic unis, but since he didn't know any to ask he wasn't sure if that was true or not. His ear flicked again, it sounded like wind rustling through the leaves, but he felt no wind. Tha air was eerily still. A hissing sort of laugh blew by, but still no wind. And then he saw the mist. "Darklings! Darklings! Wake up!" Zorn was up on his hooves as quick as possible, unintentionaly jostling Emil who was having trouble waking. Zorn heard a growl behind him, but it was only Yenzo grumbling as he got up and roughly nudged Arzela before he realized that she was up quicker than he. "Darklings?" came a hissing, femenine voice. "Where do you see Darklings?" it said in mocking tones, laughing a bit. The dark missed congealed into an equine mass and took on a faint purple tinge. When Levensita was fully formed before them she cocked her head to one side. "I see no darklings here. Only four lost little foals." Eagleyes Trynt nearly parted the water before him with his horn as he swam fast to outrun the darklings. Nasty, nasty darklings, to attack him from land while he was bound to the water. He finally had to use his Shine ability on them so he could get away. He swam down the stream at neck-breaking speeds, not looking where he was going until he plowed into something... or someone... Melantha drifted randomly, looking for unis. She was a cloud of shadows, veiling everything she rolled over. She heard noises, and shifted to head in that direction. ((Are there any darklings in the water? ninja *offers Melantha up to whichever group Chibi wants her to find* And it's not that much further until 2000!)) ChibiPoet [[ Yeah, Mel can find Cantor and the rest. 3nodding ]] Urysohn stiffled a scream and turned quickly. already begining to create a vortex in the water before even seeing what rammed into him. The vortex was half formed when he realized it was another water-bound uni. And from the sounds down river with more darklings hot behind him. "This just keeps getting better," he said with a harsh sarcasm. Cantor kept phasing in and out of his full body, misting to keep himself hidden. It was also a good defense, it had saved him from sudden claws on more than one occation. He thought he had heard something, but wasn't sure. And he didn't dare go too far from the other three. Both the ice and Mingda would be too weak to fight anything off right now. Soon Morera came to join him, likewise phasing in and out of mist form. While his form was more like becoming shadow, hers was a thick black mist. It didn't dco much to hide her, but it was just as good a defence as him doing it. "His name is Playfair. Odd name, don't you think?" She spoke softly, but casually. As if they weren't trying to hide from creatures which would rip the apart on a whim. Eagleyes ((K, Mel shall find Cantor and them. 3nodding She's one of those that will follow orders, no matter who says them... *pities Urysohn for Trynt crashing into him*)) Trynt's body arched as he took part of the impact, rolling away as soon as he could, preparing to flee again. Not more darklings! He paused mid-flight when he saw he had rammed into another water-bound uni. "Sorry," he said, his ears flattened back with alarm and remorse. He hadn't done any permaent damage, had he? He then noticed the darklings on shore and prepared another Shine when he remembered the uni next to him. Better not. Of course, there wasn't much else he could do in the way of abilities when it came to a fight. He settled for attempting to Heal the other uni so they could attack the darklings better. Mel ghosted over the terrain until she spotted several darklings. She floated to a stop, not knowing what to do. Leave them alone and hope they wouldn't find any unis, or fight them now to make sure they didn't find any unis? She quickly glanced around, not really seeing any unis, just more shadows and inky darkness beneath some trees... Eagleyes ((*does a little RP with Iona to get her even closer*)) Ugh. The celestial mare shook her head and arched her back to get out the kinks as she woke up. She was never, ever sleeping in a tree again. She'd attempt to sleep in mid-air first. At least she was still alive, which meant the darklings hadn't found her yet. She carefully stood up, using Flight to keep herself level, and shook herself to get herself awake and limber again. She finally looked ahead before sighing. Might as well. She had no other dierection to go towards. She leapt off the branch that had been her sleeping place and launched herself into the sky and into pure Flight. Hopefully she'd find a herd of unis to take her in, or at least tell her where she could find safety. She kept a close eye on the ground, keen on avoiding darklings. I do that a lot... ]] Urysohn gave a noncommital grunt sound as he turned his attention back to the darklings which were trying to swarm Vitellio. However he did quickly look at the uni when he began to feel himself rejuvinated. "Thanks," he said, sounding slightly surprised. His voice changed dramatically when he shouted, "Don't take the time to pick an element, just attack! Emory, attack!" He was shouting as a frazzled looking mud mare, her mane whiped upward instead of down and coming up to cover her eyes in a very fetching way. She quivered for a moment and then a ripple spread out in front of her, upsetting the footing of the darkling on her side of the bank. "Cantor!" Mingda shouted for him from withint the trees branches. When she shouted he heard a few snarls from other directions, her cry would bring more darklings! He turned to go back though, she'd only shout if they were already upon them. They'd come from behind, not from the direction he'd been watching. They were getting smarter... Thin bars of shadow shot out from Morera as she twisted them around any darklings she couold see. She may not be able to summon much of the shadow stuff, but even a tiny strand could be used to strange. While she kept that side occupied Cantor rushed to Mingda and Playfiar's aide. He quickly saw that neither of them could do much. He lunged and reared, striking hard with his hooves on the nearest darkling. His body began giving off a blue glow, it wasn't nearly as bright as a Light uni could make, but he had come across some darklings that couldn't stand even that much illumination. Eagleyes ((The front page now calls them floofy actually, which scares me to no end... ._.; I like the term feathered...)) "You're welcome," was the distant-sounding auto-response as Trynt concentrated on healing Urysohn. He may not be much use in attacking per say, but he could certainly heal the others so they could! "Just let me know if you want a sudden burst of really, really bright light." Mel would have jerked at the sound of a uni shouting someone's name if she could have in cloudform, but instead she just drifted forward towards the sound. As she drifted over the nearest uni, using herself to hide them from the darklings' sight as she summoned more shadows around her, she asked, "Anything I can do to help?" ((Wow, you post alot while I'm busy making sure my posts don't sound bad. xp )) ChibiPoet [[ rofl Yeah... I get very chatter-box-like when I'm sleepy. That and my attention span is now too short to be doing my whole "typing the next post while waiting for yours" thing anymore. And since we're all mixed in together now... wink rofl ]] Blinding them, that sounded like a good idea. "Just let me call the others in closer so they know what's going on," he said before suddenly shouting again. "Pull in Emory! Come back!" He glanced behind him to the other side of the bank where Vitellio was now. He didn't need to shout for the other, just hearing his call for Emory was enough for Vitellio to understand that Urysohn wanted them all together. The three of them kept up smaller attacks while Urysohn spoke. "Whenever you're ready, ..." He realized he didn't know the unis name, but that wasn't important right now. "We'll make a dash for it, up stream. The Agency is up the, " somewhere, he added to himself. He hadn't seen the barrier and wasn't sure he beleived that Emory had seen it either. Levensita's hissing voice continued to dress down the four companions. "So lost and afraid, shouting at the slightest thing. Darklings!" she mimiced in a mocking tone. "Ah!" The dirt beneith her hooves shifted a bit while Emil stared daggers into the nightmare mare. "Do you have a reason for being here? If we're so poorly organized then you should just be on your way. We'll be just fine without you, I'm sure you'll find some way to manage on your own as well." Eagleyes ((I tend to just get silly when I post when I'm sleepy. 3nodding And go "ish" a lot more too 4laugh )) "Trynt," the akashic stallion finished when the mud stallion trailed off. He wasn't sure about giving his name out, but it seemed like a good time to do it. He waited for everyone to gather close before saying, "Now would be a good time for you all to turn your heads and close your eyes," and silently counting to three before lighting the area up with a blinding flash of his Shine ability. ((*didn't see a reaction to Mel in there... >> or anything about someone seeing a uni flying overhead* *smacks forehead upon reading and edits a word*)) ChibiPoet [[ Hm... back to the large groups for a moment I think. ]] Emmy tried to watch the scouts for as long as possible, but both were quickly lost from her sight. She then glanced at Lusim who still seemed very nervous and was holding himself a bit apart from everyone. "Hey," she said in a voice that was meant to be soothing, "You can stand in the middle of the group if you're scared." For a while Lusim said nothing, his eyes flicking back and forth between her and where he'd last seen Lovelace. He finally edged his way closer, not into the center but no longer on the edge. He tried not to look at the others. Lovelace nodded at Evane's good choice before the group finally set out. He stayed near her to offer any more suggestions if he thought of them, but they were quickly coming into a realm he knew nothing about. He knew his place would be as defensive back-up, keeping the offensive unis healthy and whole. Tsuji snorted irritably when Matsunaga refused to rise to any of her baiting comments. She finally decided to ignore him and kept a sharp watch for darklings. [[ oh! Sorry about that, I didn't post Cantor's group at all that time around. Nor this one... too many groups at once. *faints* Cantor & Co. will be in the next post, I promice. ]] ChibiPoet Morera looked up suddenly as the other uni seemed to appear out of nowhere. Well, she hadn't been watching for unis so of course one had snuck up on her quite easily. She snorted and faught on silently for a few moments, thinking her question was a silly one. "Just help me kill them," she finally said irritably. Cantor, on the other side of the trees with Mingda and Playfair, was visibly surprised when the air seemed to thicken around one darkling. It slowly rose off it's feet as though suspended by a wire, struggling for air. He had to turn back and attack, not able to watch until the darkling's feet stopped twitching and it fell to the ground. Behind him Playfair gasped for air and fell over, he had stood up to control that amount of air. He didn't think he had any energy left at all. "Just rest," Mingda told him. "We will handle them." Eagleyes ((*has to think about who is where in the large groups and dies* ._.; Let's see if I can do this...)) Several unis shuffled closer to Lusim, very carefully not looking at him while holding a protective posistion around him at the same time. T'was best to protect those that were more nervous now instead of risking them getting anyone hurt in battle. Evane noted the fact that the love uni stayed close to her and tucked that bit of info away for later. For now, she had unis to find, and a barrier to keep in sight. Karli snuck closer and closer to the naga uni, trying hard not to stare in awe. Hopefully she could slide up next to him and be able to ask that burning question resting in her mind. ((*giggles* You'll note that I just have most of my unis in the group and move them as a group. I've yet to say the names of most of them. Of course, mine are in two rather large groups plus a few singles moving around, as rather to several smaller groups where all the unis could be doing different things... ;>>)) Eagleyes ((Mel appeared? >> *thought she was still in cloudform* Ah well...)) Mel formed enough to give a sharp nod before shooting off towards the darklings, wrapping herself around their eyes, obscuring their sight as she wrapped shadow strands around their wrists and ankles, attempting to hamper their movements and trip them. ((*doesn't think shadow can condense enough to grab someone, or that Mel is advanced enough to know how* >>)) ChibiPoet Urysohn, Vitellio, and Emory squeezed their eyes shut. "GO! NOW!" Urysohn shouted, hoping they darklings were sensitive to light. Hoping this diversion would work. Emory and Vitellio galloped alongside the river while Urysohn srged through the water. Going with the current, he didn't have to use as much energy as the other two did. He glanced at Trynt. "So, how far does this healing of yours work," he asked with signifigant looks toward the other two. He sounded almost conversational despite the gravity of their situation. Eagleyes (( xd You don't have to go back and fix it now if you don't want to. I was just letting you know...)) Trynt raced along behind Urysohn, keeping himself a little to the side in case the mud stallion stopped abruptly. He pondered the question before answering truthfully, "I've never healed without touching before." He sounded hesitant. It didn't hurt to try, yes? He swam towards one edge of the stream to get closer to one of the unis and attempted to heal them from a distance while swimming for his life. Some inner thought told him under no uncertain terms that it didn't think he could pull this off. Still, if he could get just a shread of healing power to the uni... ((*wants bed, wants bed now* ... >> *attempts to call for her bed so she can rp while in bed* .. *bed unfairly stays put* >< How many more posts until 2000? *wants to post on 2000 before bed*)) ChibiPoet [[ Yeah, shadow can get thick... because... I say so. rofl Well I'll just leave that part the way it is too and hope I don't get in trouble.... ]] When Morera and Mel had dispatched with the darklings the mare quickly turned, misting for a moment to simply go through the trees rather than through them. [[ rofl ]] When she came to Cantor and the others she saw that they too had cleaned up, the three of them all marked, bleeding and exhausted. "We won't last another attack..." Morera said sadly. Despite his wounds Cantor got up quickly, ignoring Mingda's protests that he lay down. "We will not give up! We will find our way and rejoin the rest of the herd!" ChibiPoet [[ 5 more posts. 4 after I post this one. ]] Wonder of wonders, Vitellio was able to continue at his gait but with less of a limp. He was in no condition to notice though and had recieved no other affects from the attempted healing. "It is there, Urysohn! I see it!" Vitellio caught a glimpse of something shining through the thick folliage along one side of the stream. It would curve slightly soon. "We're almost there!" he said excitedly. Eagleyes ((>> *should have Iona join Cantor's group since she can heal*)) Mel drifted after Morera, not having anything else to do. She piped up when the twilight stallion said that they had to rejoin their herd. "I just came from them. Part of them anyways. I was sent to scout out... actually, I don't know what. You, perhaps. I can lead you back." She said the last part uncertainly. After all, she had been in cloudform the entire time. Some of the unis might not be able to follow where she's been... The celestial mare continued to fly, hoping desperatly that she could find a group of unis so she could get some directions at the very least, a nap under protection at the most. Trynt wavered, slowing for a moment as the effects of doing that dual action caught up to him. He continued on, but at a slightly slower pace now, staying behind Urysohn to get less resistance from the water as he swam. It was the only way to keep up. ChibiPoet Matsunaga didn't seem to notice the approach of the other uni, but Tsuji did. She went off with a bit of a chuckle, she wasn't sure what the other uni wanted but she knew that Matsungaga didn't like talking to anybody. Except when he was tormenting them, and since he didn't seem to be in a mood for that... twisted [[ You may want that other uni, the one scouting from Evane's group, to also find Levensita and Zorn and all them because Levensita isn't likely to do what she's supposed to be doing. ]] ChibiPoet After a time the other darklings began to pick up the chace of the unis traveling by and beside the water. Some went off to hunt easier prey though, the ones who were easily diverted by difficult tasks and simply wanted to enjoy killing. As the party rounded a bend the barrier could be seen quite clearly. It was still more than 100 yards away, but it was there. [[ So, do you think the barrier goes all the way to just the surface of the warer, or do you think is completely hugs the earth, even going through the water and only letting watter pass through? ]]

Lakitra (I wasn't thinking about training, actually. But fine, I can start. I'll assume this takes place after the errection of the new barrier.) "It's very odd, this darkling cub living with unicorns. I wonder what'll come of it." Ller mused, before bending down to grasp a mouthful of grass. It was what might have been a nice sunny day, had the new barrier not blocked out the sunlight. As it was, the only light was a faint reddish glow from the magma unicorn grazing close to her, and a bit of shining white a good distance away, where light unicorns took turns trying to keep the darkness away. "Yeah," Stov agreed, his coat shimmering in the odd lighting "It's a real mystery how it got in here in the first place. I'd love to know that." "What I'd love to know is how to fix this mess with the barriers." The magma uni, Esse, grumbled. He'd gotten pretty decent at the glowing thing, but he really wasn't keen having to keep doing so every day. "As long as they keep the cub from harming anyone, I don't see why it being here is such a problem." ChibiPoet A deep pink glow surrounded Rose as he walked along with Xinlu. "You should tell me what's wrong, 'Lu. I'm sure I can fix it," the soft-voiced Love uni said. Xinlu made no reply though as they walked along together. Here and there they'd walk into areas of greater light, uniconrs on Glow duty were skattered about the whole Agency. And while Rose wasn't very good at it yet - even now his glow flickered occationaly like a low-wicked canle - he also took his turn helping to light the darkness caused by the barrier.
They passed a small group of unis and Xinlu caught the end of what Essé was saying. She stopped and turned to them. "No problem? A darkling that currently seems tame is no problem?" She ignored Rose when he soothingly whispered her name. "All darklings are problems and this one no less. Why because of that thing we're stuck in eternal night!"
Lakitra Esse jerked his head up from the flower he was about to eat to face the loud stranger. He took a second to look her over, glanced quickly at her glowing compagnion, then cocked his head. " I know that." He replied, " As you might be able to see," his coat shone brighter for an instant, " I too have noticed the darkness, and I'm no more fond of darklings than anyone else. But I think we should focus on fixing this darkness, rather than uselessly worry about the darkling, or blaming whoever brought it here. We should, after all, be able to handle a single darkling, a baby at that." Ller, worried that tempers might heat up, moved to stand supportingly at Esse's shoulder, before calmly continuing to eat, with one ear still flickering vigilantly. ChibiPoet Xinlu's wings twitched in frustration. "At least the problem of the darkling is easy to fix," she said, thinking that her meaning was clear. "With it out of the way we could turn ourselves to fixing the barrier."
Rose fidgetted beside Xinlu, he was very uncomfortable when unis argued. He stepped up to be closer to the other two than Xinlu was. "Hi I'm Rose," he said rather quickly and a bit too loud. He did not like conflict at all. Xinlu gave an annoied flick of her tail as she stared at Rose.
Lakitra Stov chose the moment to enter the diskussion "Actually, "fixing" the darkling, as you put it, isn't that simple." He claimed confidently, head held high, "We need to figure out how it got through the barrier in the first place, and why the barrier broke. Otherwise, we won't know how to prevent it from happening again. That cub is our only lead, for now. Like it or not, we need it." He stared challenging at the stranger, only to be surprised when her compagnion spoke. Ller, feeling the tension rise and catching on to the unspoken request made by the love unicorn, smiled kindly, "Why, hello dear. I'm Ller, and this is Esse and Stov. We come from the herd lead by Flamme and Zephyr, our guardian is Lakitra. Where do you belong?" ChibiPoet [[ Oh my gosh Naeva! I hope you can find it! ]] "Our herd is run by Cantor, so I'm told... he's currently somewhere outside the barrier and no one knows if he's alright..." He trailed off and looked at Xinlu. Cantor being missing was just one of the things that got her so angry about this darkling. "And this is 'Lu," he added. When she glared at him even harder he said, "I mean, Xinlu."
Xinlu snorted, Rose's interuption didn't keep her from trying to press her ooint further. "It should be destroyed," she said bluntly. "If there's something wrong with the barrier then Naeva or one of the guardians' will sort it out." She really didn't think it should be their consern at all how the barrier worked. So long as it did.
Lakitra Ller nodded politely at Xinlu as she was being introduced, then she said soothingly, "If my memory serves me right, Cantor is winged shadow or twillight elemental. If he keeps his wits around him, and sticks to his cloudform, I'm sure he'll be fine." She turned halfway to catch the eyes of her herd members, "Still, maybe we should inform the guardians, and Naeva, if she can find the time. That is, unless they already know..?" She looked quizzcally at Rose. Still, neither Stov nor Esse was so easily distracted. Through Esse found time to bite off a nice flower, and push it towards Rose before speaking. "What point does destroying it serve?" He asked, and Stov fell in, "Yeah, why not study it?" ((I'm have to eat dinner, be back (a little) later.)) ChibiPoet Rose's eyes twitched over to Xinlu and then back to Ller. "Our guardian, Poet, knows. I don't know if she's told anyone though. She said nearly the same thing you did." Rose grinned, but it didn't hold long. "There are others out there too though, and he won't leave them behind I'm sure."
"Study it! You mean until it decides to grow up and eat you!" Xinlu was outraged that they'd want to study a darkling. Rose's ears set to flicking again in worry.
Lakitra "I'm sorry your herd members are in danger," Esse said solemly, and Ller nodded along with Stov in agreement. Esse stepped closer slowly, hesitating a bit before rubbing his head gently against Rose's shoulder in a comforting gesture. This brought a faint smile to Llers face for a second, invisible in the dim light, before she spoke softly, "We all hope for their safe return. For now, that is all we can do, I'm afraid." However, upon hearing Xinlu's response to their latest argument, Esse quickly stepped away from the love elemental, turning to face the mare. "I think the guardians are smart enough to keep that from happening," he said in a near growl, sparks beginning to form in his mane in response to the agitation he felt from the other unicorn, though he still fought to keep his temper in check. "Wow," Stov exclaimed, "Relax, both of you." ((Hope Rose don't have a strong reaction to being touched, if so I'll edit this to make room for it.)) ChibiPoet With a bit of a sad sigh, Rose turned his head to breifly nuzzle the top of Essé's head. "Thank you," he murmered for Essé only. It seemed that of those in Cantor's herd who had stayed in the Agency, very few were as open to touching as Rose. He had needed that bit of comfort for some time. He nodded when Ller spoke. "That's very kind of you," he said in reply. "I'm sure Cantor would appreciate it."
His ears flatened when Essé growled, from comforter to agressor so quickly. "Yes, 'Lu. Please calm down... No one's asking you to study it. You don't have to go anywhere near it if you don't want to."
Xinlu's wings seemed to twitch without stopping now while she looked from one uni to another, unsure who to focus her anger on. Stov for interupting? Essé for practically growling at her, or Rose for continueing to use that idiotic nickname he'd given her! She finally settled on striking the ground while looking down in silent frustration.
Lakitra (( lol Don't know why, but it made me laugh. Rose is cute.)) "Now, now everyone. Stov and Rose is right, it's no use getting so worked up over this," Ller said firmly. "Getting angry doesn't prove you right, and the last thing we need to do is fight among ourselves." She stepped forward, and a bit of earth fell on Esse's mane, putting out most of the sparks. "Calm yourself, Esse. i know you're trying, but try harder. And you," she turned to Xinlu, "I understand your frustration, but you shouldn't be taking it out on others. The guardians will decide what to do with the cub. Now, lets try to make the best of things as they are." ((I have to go to bed now, we can continue this some othe day.))

Halloween 2006 RP Entries ChibiPoet *decides to post her entry to see what others think* Part One - The Trick [Klein]
Klein had been watching Loria now for a few days as the energetic unicorn went galloping about the entire Agency for reasons unknown. Well, those reasons had been unknown until an hour ago when she'd overheard the young mare talking color and style with another. Some unicorn not even of their herd. Loria was once again off somewhere so this was the perfect chance to get a sneak-peak at what the mare had been up to.
Klein made no effort to hide herself, it was common knowledge that Loria had been trying to befriend the cold, ice mare. If those who saw her assumed those efforts were turning fruitful then all the better for her plans.A deft nose at the latch had the stall open and Klein went in.
She wasn't impressed with what she saw. Leaves and flowers and string littered the stall in a hap-hazard manner. She could only assume that the mare was gathering things for now and not yet decorating. A pumpkin sat on the shelf and looked as though it had been attacked by a rather off-target horn. She could tell a few things must have had Peot's hand involved, a unicorn hadn't the digits necessary for the fresh orange and black stripped paint the walls had. Klein was nossing through the leaves when the stall door opened again.
"Klein," an excited, female voice shouted. "Oh my, have you come to help? That would be wonderful!" It was a somewhat tight fit for the two of them in the same stall, Klein and Loria. A bit of fancy footwork soon had them facing eachother though.
"Hmmm... yes. I know just the thing to help your decorating... uh, effort," Klein began. She knew nothing of decorating, but what fun her own project would be. "I see you're using... orange and black," the other nodded excitedly before Klein continued. "There's an odd bush across the stream with orange flowers. I thought you'd like to... add them in," she said.
With an excited squeel Loria dashed out of the stall and began prancing back and forth while waiting for Klein to follow. "Lead the way, lead the way Klein! This is so exciting!"
"Right," Klein said and the air didn't seem to notice the lack of emotion. "This way then, Loria. Follow me." She set off at a fast run, one that she knew from experience that Loria could keep up with. The silly mare, chasing her about when all she wanted was to be left alone. Well she'd learn this time, there would be no friends for Klein. And certainly no friends who were as dimwitted as Loria.
Just before they reached the stream Klein put on a burst of speed, ignoring Loria's sudden cries to slow down. A few splashes and she was across, ready to set up a very enjoyable plan. Loria slowed down as she caught sight of Klein, the younger mare was giggling, "I almost lost you!"
Klein waited as Loria stepped into the stream, then the ice unicorn lowered her head and dipped her horn into the stream. Icy tendrils rippled from her horn and encased Loria's hooves in the water. It was only a thick layer that went from one back to the other, underneith the water could still flow on by. Loria's giggles tappered off nervousely. "Klein... what...?"
"Oh it'll melt eventually, Loria. Ta-ta," Klein said before flipping her tail and gayly galloping off. She was too far away to hear when Loria began to complain, "But Klein... my hooves are cold..."
ChibiPoet *posts part two... which is much longer* Part Two - The Treat [Rose - to clarify she did two treats: giving Xinlu some happy time with a uni she has a crush on and getting others to help Loria out of the ice. Essé used with Lakitra's permission.]
"Loria!" A dark pink, striped stallion was trying to follow the sketchy directions he'd gotten from the other unicorns who'd happened to see the soft blue air pass by. "Loria! Where are you?" He prefered to go by Rose, though his full name was Rosenhain. Drapped over his neck was a long braid of three peices of creppe paper; yellow, orange and black. "LORIA!"
"Rose?"
The love unicorn set off so quickly that he almost dropped his braid. He headed around some thick brush and then found Loria. Not just Loria, but Loria stuck in ice!
"Loria, what happened? Can you get out?" Rose began nervousely prancing at the stream's edge. "I wanted to bring you some decorations but I couldn't find you and then I saw Zaremba who said you'd gone off with Klein, but she doesn't like Klein so she wouldn't say where. And Qin thought you might be looking for flowers, so I checked the places you like and saw Katyayana who also mentioned Klein but she didn't know where you'd gone either. Finally Jayadeva pointed out which way she'd last seen you going, and well here I am!" Rose sounded very proud of himself by the end of his long explination for finding Loria. But the mare only sighed.
"That doesn't get me out of the ice, Rose..." she said with a touch of impatience in her voice. She'd been stuck here for over an hour now! The ice had been slowly melting, but at its current rate she thought she'd be here until midnight for certain! So her usual inexaustable suply of patience was running a bit low.
"Oh... um..." Rose shook his neck to get the braid off and let it sit on the ground. "I'll go get help! I'll find... someone!" Before Loria could protest that they needed to think this through and come up with a plan, the energetic love unicorn was off and running. She did have time to shout one thing though before Rose was out of hearing range.
"Don't tell my mother!"

Despite what most of the unicorns thought, Rose was quite shy, so he avoided those he saw but didn't know. It was quite some time before he saw a familiar mare, Xinlu.
"OhmygoshXinluyouhavetohelpmehelpLoria!She'strappediniceand-"
"Rose. Rose. Rose!" It took three tries to get Rose to be quiet. Xinlu sighed, "Rose, slow down... please? Just take a few breaths and then tell me what happened." Rose was rather lucky to have found Xinlu, she was also quite patient, when she wanted to be.
Rose panted, catching his breath, and then continued at a slower pace. "Loria's stuck in the ice! You have to help her!" Rose actually wasn't sure what the time unicorn to do to help, but he knew there was nothing he could do... except maybe keep the area lit if Loria was stuck there until nightfall.
Xinlu took her time sitting down and looking thoughtful, her pink and purple monarch wings faning the air ever so slightly. She would give Rose a sidelong look everytime he looked about to say something and it kept him quiet. Finally she said, "I could help I suppose. But first, you must help me."
"Anything, 'Lu! Anything at all! What can I do? We have to free Loria."
Xinlu was quiet once more and considering what she planned to say. Did she really want to get Rose involved? She'd avoided doing so for a while now. Finally she nodded. "It's Hypatia." Rose tensed, he knew that for some reason Loria didn't want her mother to know what had happened to her. "She won't give me the time of day," Xinlu said with a sigh. "I've tried everything I can think of. If you can get her to just... talk to me. I will be glad to help then."
Rose reared up in excitement. "OK! Let's find Hypatia!" While they looked, they took a little side trip to pick some flowers. Being Loria's friend, Rose knew that her friend's mother loved the color white. So he took Xinlu to a place he knew had some white flowers to bring to the smoke unicorn. It took a while but they finally found Hypatia.
"Hey Hypatia, how are you today?" Rose asked cheerfully. The smoke looked up from where she was grazing, her eyes flicked to Xinlu and then she put her head back donw to tear more of the fresh grass from the ground.
"Hypatia? It's me, Rose. And Xinlu. You know Xinlu, right?" He nudged Xinlu forward with her little bouquet of white flowers. Hypatia's ear flicked, but she otherwise ignored them.
Xinlu began to get fidgetty, this was so emberassing to stand here before Hypatia while the unicorn would say nothing to her. Rose tapped the earth and then did something he hadn't discussed with Xinlu. He hoped she wouldn't mind.
There was nothing visible happening, but slowly Hypatia's heart warmed and she looked up. "Xinlu? Hello..." She actually looked happy, rare for the usually dour smoke unicorn. "Those are very pretty flowers. Are they for me?"
Xinlu shot a glance at Rose, she knew what he had done and wasn't sure if she was glad about it or not. She decided to enjoy Hypatia's attention while it lasted. She set the flowers down. "Yes, they're for you. Can I join you?" She looked back at Rose, "I'll find you later," she whispered.

Rose went back to Loria and spent the next hour trying to keep her cheerful. He told her about finding Xinlu and their deal for the time unicron to come and help. When he mentioned Hypatia and what he had done, Loria erupted into a fit of giggles.
"You gave my mother a case of the Warm Fuzzies! Oh I wish I'd been there to see that. She's always so moody." She laughed a while longer and then sighed a contented sigh. "If I have to be stuck here I'm glad that you're here too to keep me company."
It wasn't much longer before Loria and Rose could hear slightly raised voices coming their way. "I... I think that's 'Lu," Rose said. He didn't recognize the other though.
"Well at least it's not mother," Loria said. She tried to lift her legs, she'd been trying off and on for the last few hours. A tiny popping sound came from the ice. "I think my hind legs are almost free!" Loria declaired.
"Wonderful, Loria!" Rose tilted his head. "Oh, I think I recognize that voice..." The two voices were now close enough to hear bits of what they were saying.
"...knoweldge we could gain... no harm in it..."
"It's dangerous... better not to know..."
Rose raised his voice to be heard by the two approaching unicorns. "Oh 'Lu! Essé! Over here!" He didn't know why Essé was with Xinlu, had he interupted her and Hypatia? At least the argueing stopped and the pair was quiet until they reached Rose and Loria.
"Loria, this is Essé. Essé, this is my friend Loria," Rose said, making introductions. He lookd at Xinlu. "So 'Lu, what's the plan? How are we going to get Loria out?"
Essé started to say something, but Xinlu cut him off. "I can reverse time just around the ice to the point before it was frozen. Then Loria will be free." She nodded her head in a very brisk way, she'd take no arguements about this.
She came up to Loria and stepped into the unfrozen water just beside the unicorn. "Will that work, Xinlu?" Loria asked. "If you reverse time... won't it freeze again?"
Xinlu shook her head. "It will unmelt a bit, but I will go back to the point before it froze, like I said. Now be quiet." Loria looked abashed and kept quiet while Xinlu began consentrating.
Though Loria couldn't see anything going on, Rose and Essé watched as the ice around Loria began to harden again. It grew a bit and even trapped one of Xinlu's legs. The ice used to cover a longer stretch of the river than it did now. After a while though it stopped, a full sheet of ice once more. Suddenly Xinlu began struggling. "I can't get out! I'm stuck!"
Rose came quickly to the bank. "Why did you stop? It shouldn't be much longer until you unfreeze the ice." The time unicorn shot him an angry look.
"It's too far for me to go, I went back as far as I could! Now I'm stuck, get me out!"
Essé came forward. "I was about to say that I can use fire to melt the ice. But you didn't give me a change to speak." Rose nodded vigorousely.
"Yes yes Essé. Will you help us? Please?" The magma unicorn nodded and came to stand beside Rose. Ességave Xinlu a look that said he was only helping because Rose had asked. He took a deep breath to prepare himself and then tiny flames began skating across the ice. He was careful to keep the fire away from either unicorn's legs, it wasn't long before the ice was melted enough to break when Loria and Xinlu tugged with their legs. The ice peices drifted on down the stream and out of sight.
"Thanks so much Essé," Loria gushed, giving him a bit of a bow. "And thanks for your help Rose. I'm so glad- oof!" Her legs still a bit numb, Loria stumbled and fell but laughed it off. "It's nothing, I'll be fine in a bit," she said when Rose rushed to her side. Essé went on his way while Rose stayed with Xinlu and Loria to keep them company while feeling came back to their legs.

December Events: List and Foalen ChibiPoet [[ Ah well, I'll assume so... and if it isn't then I know what changes I can make so this post is OK. ]] They were an unlikely pair, Ariel and Grizabella. One living in the water and one fearing to even wet her paws. But the two of them got along famousely, likely for their common love of music. The two of them had come to hear Neava's words and decided likewise to give aid in the way they knew best - through song. Ariel propelled herself closer to the water's edge until she could set her front hooves on the shore. Grizabella reclined on the ground beside her, leaning on one haunch. After Dancer began the song (I think it was Dancer anyway..) they shortly joined in with other singers. [[ Hopefully tonight I can add in some other unis and a bit for that list-plot. ]] ChibiPoet [[ I'll go ahead and get started now then since you'll likely log back on before I do tomorrow. And so Neava and others running the list-RP know... I'm hoping this will help out with that.Not this particulat post, but where this is all heading. ]] From east and west came two large groups of unicorns, back from their mission to find some who had been lost. Near the head of one group walked Emmy and Arzela, flanking a rather dejected-looking Emil between them. The brightly colored Zorn followed Emil, his mother. A golden unicorn walked a bit separate from the group, often glancing in Emil's direction. In the second group was Cantor, lead stallion to the herd watched after by Poet. Though she mostly left them to their own devices having only in common with Cantor the desire to acquire ever more unicorns for the herd. Close beside him walked Mingda, the spotted water unicorn. Further back his daughter Morera walked while making calf eyes to a charming ice unicorn, she seemed oblivious to the fact that he was ignoring her. [[ And now I'm off to bed as well. ]] ChibiPoet [[ Thanks guys, I hope this doesn't disapoint. ]] Loria had wanted to do something special, something unique. Especially since she'd finally said "Come watch me mom!" often enough for Hypatia to be among the gathered unicorns. However, once she heard all the music and saw the dancing she couldn't help but join in. She cappered about with the other dancers, her powers weren't very strong yet, but she occatioanly tried to use a bit of flight to add lift to her steps. Hypatia was sitting in the shadow of some nearby trees, she simply didn't feel like doing anything to help. Not at the moment. Maybe some other time, surely there was enough energy already? Beside her sat Xinlu, a time mare who'd taken to following her in an annoying stalker-like way. The time sounded like she was muttering about the dark when Hypatia, sighing, summoned a small flame to light the shadow of the tree. Rosenhain - known as Rose - had also joined Loria and the dancers, she was his best friend after all. The confidence in his steps was infectious, and delibrately so too as he tried Bolstering the dancers, spreading around a good feeling and renewed enrgies to those closest to him. [[ And now a short break for food. ]] ChibiPoet ((Whoa Cyn, that was so cool!)) Near the middle of the pool was Ajima who watched the doings of the other unicorns while they tried to pass on energy to the kitsune Foalen. Her tail lashed about under the water while she tried to think, though she looked more angry than thoughtful. Ajima looked angry most of the time though so it wasn't out of the ordinary. After some thought she decided to use her present situation to an advantage. Steam rose, right? That would be another way of sending her energy "up" to where this sun-thing was going to go, right? She made certain to keep her distance from any other of the aquatic unicorns around before begining her task. A city unicorn had begun to watch Ajima without her knowing. The city - Katyayana - had been watching each unicorn around her in turn, hoping to gain an idea from watching them on how to proceed with the given task. She quickly eliminated song and dance, she had neither the rhythm nor the voice for either. She'd seen the dour smoke, Hypatia, summoning her element fire. However Katyayana had found herself lacking in the summon department - her skill lay more in moving about air and earth once summoned. And she didn't dare mess with the ground now for fear of upsetting the dancers. Then as she watched Ajima she saw thin tendrils of steam begin to flow around the fire elemental and float up to the air. Upon closer inspection she realized the unicorn must be summoning fire under the water to create steam. Suddenly Katyayana had an idea for a different sort of dance. She cloudformed into a dark smog and drifted toward the steam. Katyayana was new to cloudform though, knowing only that it was possibly. She found that for the most part she was at the mercy of the wind and air, but could control some of her direction. She was soom caught up in the steam and found its warmth plesant. Unable to direct herself, the smog and steam simply flowed together as they wished, twisting in the air and forming strange shapes. After a time Ajima looked up, and was shocked. She looked around. "Who's messing with my steam? THat's for Foalen and him only!" She tried seeing who could be casting smog at her steam, but found no one. "Come out! Come out and stop messing with my gift!" Ajima, it's me. Katyayana. I'm-"What? Where are you? Show youself!" Since the herd had grow in strange leaps and bounds, Ajima did not know of Katyayana even though the city knew who she was. I am the smog, you can already see me.Ajima looked up again. "OK, but get out of there, the steam's for Foalen! Not for you." I'm not trying to take it... I only wanted to help... Katyayana's voice got smaller inside Ajima's head, she had no idea the unicorn would have reacted in this manner. I... I'll leave now... It was difficult, but she was able to slowly drift back to the bank. Once sure the ground would be beneith her she merged into herself once more, a gray and yellow striped unicorn. "I didn't mean to upset you Ajima... I'm sorry." She trotted off and tried to find some other way to help.
