Kahawa watched as the rain poured down harder. The worst part of the storm was coming. He helped Patch to protect the cubs with their bodies. Airi seemed safe and most of the others were walking towards the back of the cave too.
He hoped the storm would soon be over. It was impossible to hunt in that weather.

As the mud was flowing of his fur Solomon heard a deafening sound. Lightning struck on the ground nearby. He had to climb up to the caves, and fast. Struggling towards the nearest entry he saw his paws slipped away. He couldn't get a grip in the loose mud and buried his claws deeper into the earth. "Anyone there,!?" He shouted.

Kero listened to the thunder. It sounded like the sky was yelling at the earth. Wait... No, that wasn't thunder. Someone was yelling outside! She moved to the doorway. Her fur illuminated the rain, mud, rocks, and... was that a lion? She almost couldn't see him through the shadow and rain but he was there. His calls for help were nearly silent compared to the roar of thunder. "Hold on I'll get you," Kero called, though he probably couldn't hear her. She looked back into the cave. "There's someone slipping outside!" she called. Then she climbed out of the cave to the ledge above him. She put her paws over his, trying to gain grip with her claws without hurting him. Bloody paws was better then falling off a cliff though. As she held his paws her shoulder blade began to ache. Blood slipped past the herb-paste and onto her arm. She was definitely the wrong lioness to be trying to help this lion.

((Kinda reminds me of the Lion King. Should Kero have a Scar moment? No I kid. Kero wouldn't do that.))

Caelum heard a faint cry and saw Kero run outside. Ears erect, he leaped to his paws and trotted over. The sight confused him slightly. Kero, standing over a lion who was slipping down the edge of the cliff. Had she pushed him? He shook his head, no. She was pulling him up. How could he even think such a thing? Promising he would apologize to her later, he ran over and sunk his teeth into the scruff of the lions neck, making sure not to hurt him, and began to pull up.

His muscles strained, but he was a bigger lion than most, and raw strength won out in the end as he pulled the lion into the cave. He shook the water out of his fur, sending it flying in all directions. "Are you alright?" He gasped, trying to regain his breath. "Come on, it's warm inside and there's a bit of food."

Airi nodded to the other cub. "Yeah." She kept her eyes down, trying not to show her fear in front of Lucile. "Y-You know I lost my first parents in a storm like this? I was playing and couldn't find them after." She bit her lip, but forced a smile upon her face. "C'mon, let's eat! I'm starved!" With that, she bent her head and dug into the strip the meat, making loud purring noises as she ate.

"I never met my parents...not really anyway." Lucile didn't seem at all upset by it either, by now it was just a fact of life. She munched on another piece from the strip of meat. Her head turned slightly so she could see Kahawa and Patch out of the corner of her eye for a moment before settling her attention on Airi again. "What's it like...having parents?" Having other lions around was something that was quite foreign to Lucile, though she was growing accustomed to it given the present situation.

Saphira's ears perked as she overheard the cubs' conversation. She tried hard not to move her head, but her ice-blue eyes moved slowly to catch of glimpse of them. Parents...she thought. The word a distant thought for her. Unused and unfamiliar. Her eyelids half closed, she curled up, trying not to break down in front of lions she barely knew. "There are too many like me," she whispered to herself. She curled up tighter as her stomach growled.

Solomon nearly lost his grip when suddenly he felt something on his paws. Nails not trying to bury in. He looked up to where the paws were coming from and saw a lioness, her fur lighting up against the dark sky. He gathered his strength again to pull himself up but the lioness couldn't hold him. Also a faint scent entered his nostrils.... was that blood?

But Solomon didn't have the time to think more of it when he saw another dark shadow coming. It bend over him and grabbed the loose skin in his neck, pulling him up. He instantly stiffened, a reflex he couldn't control. He couldn't see much beside mud and fur, the rain made it all blurry. Finally the lion let go of him, putting him down on a cold floor. Gasping heavily he looked around. He was in a cave and it was stocked with lions! "What on earth..." He whispered.

Then someone spoke and he twisted his head back. It was always a bit harder to define from which direction sounds came but he had gotten used to it. He looked at the large lion who had pulled him up. He was definitely younger than him, but then again, these days most of the older lions like him preferred to remain in the safety of prides. "Yes, I think so.. Thank you for saving me there! I didn't think so many lions could be nearby." He straightened up a little. The lion seemed very friendly, offering him food already. "Please! Let me introduce myself first before I'll take use of your hospitality. My name is Solomon."

Kero's heart was still pounding against her ribs. "Thank you," she was able to say between short rapid breaths. As her heart and lungs slowed she caught sight of the lion that helped her and the lion they fished out of the storm. "Nice to meet you Solomon." With that last comment, Kero curled up and fell asleep almost instantaneously. She didn't realize how tired she had been all day. There had been so much to do. Now it wasn't exactly a collapse. Kero just drifted gracefully to sleep in a few seconds.

She ginned a happy-to-be-sleeping grin and dreamt she caught a giant fish named Solomon. (Now this is no insult to Solomon. The dream is a pun for fishing him out of the storm.)
