Suri lay in the large cave, glad for the other lions warmth. It had been two days since the cubs had been born, and it was quite obvious that two of them were destined for greatness. It wasn't every day that gods were born, and it certainly wasn't a day that Suri ever expected to see. Still, she was there, and she played along with them as they flittered around the now tiny cave. It was good to see healthy cubs. Hers had been.... well, she tried not to think of her own cubs. Needless to say she was glad for the company.
Getting up and stretching, she walked to the entrance of the cave. Sitting down she stared out at the great shower in front of her. Visibility was low, and she couldn't take in the huge landscape that would normally be blessing her. She sighed a little, tired of the rain. Enough was enough already Zahina! There wasn't going to be a recognizable tree left with how much the rain had changed everything. Water was not a force to be reckoned with. Glancing back at the cubs, she stared at the water goddess. No, water was a wonderful thing... she just didn't want to be on its bad side.

[Caelum Uncert]
[Airi Cert]
Caelum snored quietly in a small corner at the back of the den. His chest rose up and down gently as he took each slow breath, a look of calm spread over his face. It felt nice to be able to relax surrounded by so many lions, and when he got comfortable it was impossible to wake him once more. As he slept, he dreamed. Not even he would be able to remember what they were about, but they were bright and full of hope, good dreams that had evaded him for a while.
Airi lay closer to the middle of the cave, flicking her tail lazily. No one was doing anything, and it bored her. How was she supposed to explore and have adventure when she was trapped inside, with a terrifying storm outside. As another lion stood up, the cub's eyes flickered over to her. It was a female, one who had been in the cave before Airi had arrived.
Tilting her head, the cub tried to remember her name. Sura? Sumi? Suri? Yes, that was it! Suri! Clambering up onto still overly-large paws, the cub skittered over to the lioness. Pressing her ears upwards and flicking her tail playfully, she looked up at her. "Wanna play?" She asked, adrenaline beginning to course through her small limbs.

True to his word, Marne had stayed close by and checked on the cubs the next morning. Today was no different and he stood at the open mouth of the smaller cave he'd taken up so that the family would not have to move. The rain wasn't as angry and disastrous today, be he could still feel the changes and a destruction it was doing to the land, reforming what had been into something new.
With a sigh he prepared himself to walk amongst the Zahina's, something he'd stilll not gotten used to in the past two days. Their natures and beliefs made him cringe, but he couldn't send them away. He'd come to like some of them well enough, and he felt wrong in sending them on a trek in the unrelenting rain.
Slowly he stepped out of the protection of his new den and nearly smiled at the welcome feel of the rain on his fur. It soaked him quickly, chilling his bones and reminding him of it's power. Some part of his mind wondered if the rain was of Nature's accord, or if it had something to do with the young cub in the den below his paws. Just as he thought of the den he'd found himself level with it's mouth and stepped in, nodding to Suri in a short greeting.
He made his way deeper into the den, eyes scanning over the scattered bodies. Most of them seemed to be faring quite well, which meant he'd likely have another uneventful day.

Caelum slowly stirred from his slumber, one eye opening sleepily to see who was moving about in the den. Suri was by the entrance, with Airi most likely pestering her at her paws. Marne had just padded in as well. With a low growl, the big lion rose to his paws and shook himself out. Sleep still clung to him relentlessly though, causing him to yawn widely.
Blinking a few more times, he wondered if there was any food nearby. He was hungry. His blue eyes travelled over to the mouth of the cave, where he could still see the water as it poured down. He guessed that meant no food for now, because he didn't want to go out alone in this weather, and he doubted anyone would go with him.
Airi twisted her head as the Da'lin walked in. She still didn't understand why he wouldn't sleep in the cave with them. "Heya, Marne!" She said, beginning to follow him with a teasing look in her eyes. "Wanna play? Everyone else is too tired or doesn't want to. Please?"

Kero PatchPatch swung her tail back and forth over the new cubs. They reached out and tried to claw at it. They were still tired and two of them still hadn't opened their eyes. Patch felt a bit stronger but she was still lightheaded. She remained lying down and lazily playing with the cubs. This was pretty much all she did this morning besides cleaning them. She felt bad that she couldn't be a playmate for Airi. A loud sound could be heard outside. It sounded like groaning and dragging. A muddy bloody silhouette entered the cave. With it's bright eyes and messy fur, it looked scary and almost demonic. It was a lioness. She was dragging a large gazelle. "You have no idea how hard that was to get. I slipped into so much mud," she said, sparing the details. Her teeth felt gritty and coated in gravel and mud. She placed the gazelle at the edge of the cave. "It's not much but it's for everyone. Don't mind me I'm going to go wash all this off me," she said. Then the muddy lioness sulked into the shadows outside to let the rain clean her off. Soon a faint glow could be seen off in the distance. Kero was shaking and scratching layers of mud and blood from her fur. It had been a tough morning for her.

Marne had to break into a smile at the cub at his heels and he turned looking down at her with his head partly tilted, as if it were easier to hear her that way. He nudge her forehead in a gentle greeting, but shook his head. "Playing with Da'lin is not wise, Airi. Don't forget that just because I've no intention to be a threat."
He turned his head as Kero arrived. He couldn't quite describe the way she moved into the large den, and the layers of mud and blood brought a concerned look to his face. After turning to see that the cubs and Patch were doing fine, he followed her out of the den into the rain, where he saw the extent of her filth. "Did you get injured?" He wanted to help, as she was one of those he'd taken a liking to, but he'd feel awkward in doing so. So, instead, he hung back uncomfortable, a torn look on his face.

Kero continued to clean herself off wile talking to Marne. "I'm alright. Most of this blood is from the gazelle," she said. She awkwardly laughed so he wouldn't be too worried. "Heh, some lions out there go a little crazy in weather like this. I figure whoever she was she was having a hard time catching food. No big deal. A lioness just fought me over the gazelle on the way back from the temple." Her shoulder blade appeared to be where she was bit into and there were a few scratches here and there. She didn't wince or cry. She just let the rain clean all her worries away. She smiled at Marne when she was finished. "See, no harm done." Yeah, she was in some pain but it wasn't worth worrying anyone over. She was happy that Marne looked after her. She had never met a such nice lions and lionesses before. For once life was looking up, despite the weather and that fight. "Uh Marne? There are still some medical herbs in the cave right?" she asked as she reentered the cave. Her fur looked more like a wet rat than a lioness.

Ugh, enough with this miserable rain already! A little storm here and there was fine, yes, but this non-stop storm was utterly miserable, and it had put one particular lion in the foulest of moods. The sopping wet landscape made it impossible to find shelter. More importantly, however, it made it impossible to find food. Sure, there was an abandoned kill here or there, but he was no wild dog, and he would not scavenge.
At least, that was what he told himself. That had been his intention. But when he spied a sopping wet female dragging a gazelle behind her, it grabbed his attention. Where was she taking it? Greedy little thing, she was probably hoarding it for herself! He let some space open up between himself and the female before he rose to all four paws, left his only slightly less dry shelter beneath a large tree, and padded behind her.
It wasn't until he came closer to the cave that the he realized the gazelle was very much not for this lioness alone. Even with the rain, the smell of a group of lions - a pride, he assumed - lingered in the air. Wary, but driven by the angry growling in his stomach, he stepped forward, into the mouth of the cave and in view of the others.
He was certain on the larger side when it came to lions, no doubt about that. His size was clear even with his defensive position, crouched a bit low to the ground with his neck and spine one long horizontal line. The dark dreariness of the storm made his amethyst pelt look almost gray, but there was no way any of the others could miss the deep scars that seemed littered about the male's body. He eyed the others with a note of wary, almost hostile outsider tension, lingering at the entrance. No, this was not his territory. But damned if he wasn't starving.

Saphira Uncert Saphira laid in the back of the cave and watched the events pass by with a look of indifference. She stretched out her limbs, extending her claws and yawned, bearing her white teeth. She turned and saw the glowing lioness bleeding and watched interested at the cause of the wound. She saw her lips move but was too far away to make out what was being said.

The young cub stumbled into the from the rain up to her torso in mud. She was quite small, but had a strong spirit and a reasonably strong body to make up for it. Lucile looked up, her eyes widening at the gathering of lions before her. "Excuse me..." Normally she would've been much braver but the sight of so many others had caught her off guard. "....I got lost on my way home..." She lifted each paw and shook it gently, trying to remove some of the water. "..when the sky started to cry. Would it be alright if I stayed here, til I'm dry again?" She settled back on her haunches, her tail flicking back and forth. The cave was warm and much more inviting than the cold rain outside despite the crowd.

Suri shook her head at Airi's request to play. She was too deep in her own thoughts to play right this moment. When the cub propositioned the Da'lin however, Suri took a keen notice. She was uneasy around Da'lin. More so than others would know. She was resentful and hateful toward them on the inside, though she dare not pick a fight with them under normal or abnormal circumstance. She had the fightin her, just not the heart.
When the male and cub came to the entrance, Suri smiled down at the cub. "Of course, come on in and get dry. There may even be someone here that you can play with to warm up a bit." Then turning to the large male lion she looked him up and down. Quite a specimen if she did say so herself. Not hard on the eyes at all, and certainly battle weathered, as was obvious with the scars.
"Hello, i'm Suri." Was all she said, simply greeting him with a little nod of the head.

Kero faced the group in the cave, now plus two new lions. "I don't see why no one's eating. After all that chaos and having empty stomachs all night, no one is eating. We're an odd bunch," she said. She walked over to Patch and Kahawa to get some herbs, hopefully. Once at their side of the cave she looked them in the eyes. "I witnessed you're cub's ceremony before leaving the temple. I ensure you that she's in peace and the time of morning should pass with bright hope for the future," she said. She was a bit shaky. Truthfully she didn't know what to say. She waited for Marne's instructions about the herbs, getting more awekward by the second around the gloomy couple.

Marne could see the injuries, but he would not force his help upon her. She didn't show him her pain, but his years of experience told him it was there. Was she reluctant to show her pain because she lacked trust in him? Marne wouldn't blame her if it were true. He frowned at her and waited for her to wash the rest of the mud off, just too be sure nothing was too bad. Something in him told him that the lioness who'd attacked Kero was Da'lin, and he wasn't sure how he felt on that. He was obviously unsettled by the harm that had come to her, but it was the nature of his kind. He frowned.
He was relieved when she at least asked about herbs. That he could do for her, and he recalled bringing herbs back in several trips the other day so he had a good store of them for when they were needed. He nodded at her. "Yes, I should have something."
He followed her to the back of the cave and sifted through the various leaves, mosses, and flowers that littered the floor. They would only stay healthy for a few days, and soon he'd have to replenish the pile. Finally he picked up a leaf as light as his mane and looked to her. He sucked the leaf into his mouth and began to chew, taking a moment before he spoke. "This... is going to be a little weird." He didn't make a face at the bitter, choking taste of the paste he was making, nor did tears come to his eyes when the juices began to burn his throat. "I'm going to have to rub this on the wound, and it will sting, but not too much."

"Thank you." Lucile brightened considerably and shook off more of the excess water at the cave entrance, so she didn't track in enough mud and water to make a considerable mess. "Play?" Her eyes went a little wide at that. "You mean there are other cubs here?" She had not come across others her own age in quite some time. Her nose twitched, a pleasant scent wafting toward the cave entrance and her stomach growled. "Maybe, after I find something to eat." The little one had been out hunting when the storm had started and had ended up drenched before she could find anything.
