lurkindarkness I have nearly 15 (in September) years of experiences on the Island. But never once, have I heard somebody say idear. Perhaps it's because I live in Suffolk county (Manorville specifically) I live in Suffolk County too. (Between Huntington and Smithtown there's a place called 'Commack' I live there. and the people 'round my age suck. =) I'm serious.)

My life is a Long Island experience. surprised That's because it's where I live. Yes, they do talk funny here. I'm sorry for anyone who may have had to come here and bare witness to the terrible atrocity that is the Lon-GHI-land-uh accent, but I'm glad I don't have it. The end.

Considering I've been stuck in Nassau County for 20 years, I don't find much of the island to be very interesting. Except Jones Beach. heart
My town (Westbury) is just a big pile of chain stores. We have The Source Mall, conveniently located about a mile from Roosevelt Field and about two miles from Broadway Mall. There are thirteen Dunkin' Donuts within five miles of my house. Excellent planning, huh? At least Eisenhower Park is nice.

I'm in Setauket, Suffolk. Yeah, Long Island seems to have an obsession with Dunkin' Donuts. I've seen two in the same place, one on each side of the road, kinda like gas stations. I was like, wtf.
Long Island Runs on Dunkin.

Except I don't really have an accent. I like pronouncing words properly. lol

This guild moves slow... Anyways, yeah, I'd like to say I do that, too. To an extent. I mean, the New York accent rubs off on you somehow. Whenever I talk to people from other states, they say I have an accent. Still, though, I use big words. xD

I've lost my glasses on Long Island twice. Once, in RFC. Once, on Fire Island.

Jii lives on Long Island...and I know a bunch of people with the Lawng Ghisland accent, but I don't have it, because my dad's from Ohio...the accents in the states in that area are sooo annoying!! I hate how on LI you have to drive to get anywhere, in NYC you can just walk!!
