She wanted to lay there forever, but it wasn't to be. "The sun will be up in a few hours."
Luciana rested her head on his chest, "I think, on the next rising, it would be appropriate for you to meet my family. My brothers and father will not be happy that I am out for the daytime. My mother will worry too, but she'll not be as stand offish about it."

She leaned into his touch, the soothing gesture working on her. "I hope that they like me."

She looked at him, "Your father would flirt with your lifemate?I have never heard of such a thing."
My mother will be wary of you. She's wary of almost everyone. She turned my father, as he was not one of us naturally. My father would kill you if you hurt me, but that would only be if my mother couldn't get to you first. They are an odd pair, but they love each other dearly.
My brother, should you meet him, will be more to a typical male. He will try to make sure that I'm safe in your care. But they will like you. If for no other reason than it will make me happy. Though I'm sure they'll like you on their own. You are a charming fellow.

He gave a half smile. "You must remember, my father's not the traditional vampire either. While he'll flirt with you and compliment you, he'll never do anything to you but keep you safe."

She used their mental path to offer more information about her parents, My father is a Drow. In their society, women are in charge. Men are treated as their slaves and servants. The only honor one can achieve if he is male is to provide his mistress with powerful daughters or to defend her to the death. It is a sad life. I'm glad that my father is no longer a part of it. He still exhibits their tendencies...and Mother is the only woman he will look in the eye or touch willingly. My sister and I had to initiate all of the hugs and cuddles that we wanted from him. And he didn't always know how to handle it. He is more comfortable now with such things, but only with us.

He nodded, understanding the drow. there was a few in the herd but they usually kept to themselves. He has watched them before, gaining som understanding of their behavior and ritual.
There are a few in the herd. they are usually the dark skinned with white hair and reddish eyes correct?

She nodded, That would adequately describe my father. I just couldn't imagine living in that kind of world. I know that ours is more centered around the male, but we women aren't treated as slaves or servants. I don't think I could stand for such a thing.

He smiled a little. We can be overbearing sometimes. Above all else we protect our women and see to their happiness. It's not entirely different from our world.

It is different though. When a male gets overbearing, it's because he loves his woman. Only the unclaimed males can be equated to them. What their males do is out of fear of punishment or death. Only their males honor is comparable to ours.

I don't blame them at all.They are victims of circumstance. I just wish it could be different for them. I don't think anyone should have to live in fear or feel alone. I wouldn't even wish such a thing on a Nosferatu.

He chuckled. That might depend on the Nosferatu. I agree loneliness is unbearable, especially if one can't stand their own self.
