The place was trashed. Oreo and Maggs looked around the wrecked healing center. After a few moments Oreo gave a sigh. "I don't think there's anything here," she lamented. "Let's move on to somewhere else." Maggs shook her head. "Not yet," she replied as she walked over to the crude symbol on the back walk. "Does this look strange to you?" She asked. "No.""That's 'cause you're a dumdum.""I'm NOT a dumdum." Maggs began to inspect the symbol closely, poking and prodding it as she searched for any kind of reaction.

What she would find was that the symbol did not react to her in the slightest. This, of course, said a lot about the Scarlet Suns. A few crystals were arranged underneath the poster. They were scattered, but one could easily tell that there was once a structure to their arrangement. Some amethyst, tourmaline, aventurine, were left on a mat with a picture of a butterfly and several points denoting where the energy should be channeled--or whatever. Whatever these people were doing either got under the skin of the Scarlet Suns or the thugs were just being thugs. How much money does a shop like this pull in, though?
Further inspection of the room would yield the butterfly image invoked a couple more times, most notably on a series of business cards. There no actual magic here to be sensed, but...
Egil sighed as he slowly calmed down. Losing his cool was something he had been taught to control. Rens saying echo in his head "Win through your actions, never through argument". After all the meister's were just stubborn kids and clearly wouldn't be able to see where he was coming from. At the end of the day they had no leads and no information of importance to him. Angela heaved a visible sigh of relief at the words of the fox. Her disposition was so gentle and peaceful that she really would avoid fighting at all costs--somewhat to the dismay of our pugnacious tonfa Dominick. She offered a smile and some digits: "That's my number. Call us if you find anything." And with a slight inclination of the head, the meister stepped past the scientist off down one of the city's most crowded streets. She and dominick had heard a ruckus from that way earlier on their way from the police station, and were not about to let that escape their scrutiny in the face of rational explaining away.
The two Machinists continued to investigate the ruined holistic center. Maggs couldn't shake the feeling that there was something here. She began to pick up disparate crystals and gathered them together over the butterfly. "Feel like doing some fortunetelling?" Oreo asked sarcastically as she took one of the business cards, holding it up to read what was printed on it. Maggs closed her eyes, pretending to concentrate for a moment. "I predict....you're going to be sarcastic this entire mission," she replied finally. Oreo smiled slightly despite herself before returning to the card. Maggs herself returned to the butterfly mat as she continued attempting to correctly align the crystals, looking for any indication of what order they were meant to be placed.

Egil memorizes the miester number then destroys the paper. He then continues on his way alerted to the wavelength signature that had lead him here in the first place. While he walks android keeps its distance and uplinks with the scouts for the data that had been gather. The young scientist went over the androids diagnostic ready to make sure everything was working properly. Even though he was on a mission he could resist field testing one of his new toys.

The scientist continues down the streets now able to search for Emit's wavelength. The scouts acted as receivers for the wavelengths in the area allowing Egil to pinpoint specific ones over others. His other personalities were getting more annoying the further he travelled into the madness. If Egil wasn't careful he would soon be overwhelmed.

The chase would lead the scientist to the east side of town, the energy continuing to climb in strength as he indeed zero'd in on his target. His quarry, however, was not what he would be expecting. Like the cricket's sudden and timid silence, the energy signature would disappear completely as he approached the source. Egil was in a residential area now, and would be made away--one way or another--of the curious gaze of another on a porch nearby. It seemed to study the scientist, not moving, not speaking. The scientist would also find at this moment that all his surveillance tech would be crippled by an unknown virus.
The effort to reconstruct the grid would yield a layout that seemed to be a lotus. There was no specific instruction to tell which way the stones were supposed to go, but the nodes on the mat were arranged in a way to beget such an outline. There were five larger stones--Malachite--and several other smaller tourmalines, amethysts, and garnets. One large clear quartz seemed to beg being placed in the middle. A second look would reveal that the nodes, while ultimately holding this lotus pattern, held room on the fringes for another form that seemed to match the outline of the butterfly's wings. They all fanned out in a spiral regardless, with five overlapping circles drawn lightly over the image to further connect the energy of the stones. Nothing special would happen upon their assembly, but to do so would require some deduction and would shed light on just what significance this place held.

Egil makes his way then the residential district. Based on the readings Emit should be located around the area. Just when he thought he had it the signature dissapeared completely. Immediately afterwards Egil gets a stream of Error alerts from his scouters. The young Kitsune curses and starts looking around while the android keeps a look out for any signs of life. Egil figured the place must be a dead zone of sorts with all the madness. Egil suddenly gets an alert from A.D.A regarding the problem. " Alert! Scout Drones compromised. Initiating counter measures. "
Egil curses as one by one the scouting drones are severed from the network and set to and implosive self destruct. It was annoying but nothing Egil wasn't prepared for. Still what exactly had caused the virus? The young scientist looks around and settles his gaze on the figure on the porch. Not want to take his chances he releases some of his wavelength gradually as the android makes its way to a decent vantage point.

"Mm?" raised the chameleon with a certain mocking in his tone--just in one syllable he mocked the young scientist! A shrug followed, and the young man stood on his porch with one hand in his pocket and the other thumbing his glasses frames. "I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about," he confessed, leaving his hand in his pocket as he approached the white-haired boy. "Care to let me in on this... thing I've done?" His aura seemed not to exist at all. All that would be sensed by soul perception would be the ambient energy of the neighborhood, as if the man had no soul whatsoever.

Maggs focused on the grid, quickly placing the large clear quartz in the center. She took the other crystals and laid them out in front of her. After a few moments of study she began to slowly reconstruct the lotus diagram by fitting the crystals in their proper spots. Oreo let out a sigh as she watched Maggs begin to start messing with the crystals. "Seriously...?" She asked in exasperation. "Seeeeeriously," Maggs replied without looking up from her work.

"Mmm?" The demon tilted his head and the motion of his mouth made the arm of his glass bounce like a cork rolling down a cheeky river of sarcasm. "Boy, I'm not sure what you're getting at, but I'm sure I've forgotten all about your friend by now..." The chameleon chuckled softly and shrugged.

The android was checking on the status of contacting the miesters as Egil's mental state was unraveling. He could hear the others voices bubbling up;clawing at him for dominance. Eventually they fell back and another voice began to speak. "Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened. You can lock them away... forever. There's no way someone who can't even protect himself can protect anyone else, is there? All suffering you been thru was born from your own incompetence. Sleep you miserable child. "Egil becomes submerged in the recesses of his own subconscious as this new personality takes over. A wicked grin creeps onto Egils face and as he looks back at Chameleon his sclera turn black with his indigo pupils glowing against them. His voice changes into something more akin to a whisper mixed with some odd echo effect; the kind of voice that made ones body quiver uncomfortably. Egil's wavelength fluctuates ominously giving off static discharges periodically as he cracks his bones.
" Arhat.... 63...... Chameleon. K'eheheheh. You ruined everything you little scumbag. K'hahahahaha. Little Eggy was so upset I had to put him to sleep. It's not nice to be mean to children. "
