let's see, it has to have a good plot, believable acting, psychological thrillers are neat ( heart Secret Window heart ) and suspense, and shock. I like not knowing what's going on, weird as that may sound X3
EDIT: oh yeah, and tons of gore XD love the gore.

im my opinion, it has to have a good plot...if it doesnt id probably get bored and it also has to have some humor in it...and not so much gore...but gore here and there is good but when the whole movie is nothing but gore thats a little overkill...

Oh, that's easy: The horror movie doesn't have to be good (at least to me). All it has to be, is... Suspenseful; something that keeps on the edge of your seat for the entire movie. Also, some gore to add to the effect, and then is has to be scary. Something that will make my heart skip a beat. heart That's probably why I didn't exactly like The Ring that much. It had a good plot, but it just wasn't scary...

I like subtlety. You shouldn't always know egzactly what happens. Like it's ok to show what happens when something breaks in and starts tearing people up, but it's much spookier if theirs parts where you only see small parts of what's happening. stare

Well, I'm a slasher fan myself, so gore and deaths. However, I do LOVE a twisted storyline and horribly disturbing mind-game like patterns. And because I like slasher flicks I also like a demonic villian throw into the fray! twisted

My perfect horror movie would require the viewer to do a lot of thinking, kind of like a mystery or thriller. It would have a lot of psychological horror and shock instead of just gore, and it would have a twist that made everything come together in the end but in a way no one imagined. Another big thing for me would be if people didn't do everything the "dumb way" in the movie and stuff that occured were things that were realistic and could actually happen. Also I need a cast of people that are not just barbies running around in tight wet clothes and they should have some acting skills at least. If the "monster" or enemy could be something like Sadako from Ringu or one of the ghosts in House on Haunted Hill that would be great too.
