Is it gore or shock?
Is it actors or plot?
Who'd be in your PERFECT horror?

Suspense, which is the reason Alien and Jaws are my favorites.

If I was to make a horror movie:
Shock Psychological stuff Plot (most of the time) Things that can actually happen
In my perfect horror movie, I would have Juliette Lewis, Vincent Price (even though he is no longer with us), and Bill Moseley.

The Bijoux Shock Psychological stuff Plot (most of the time) Things that can actually happen. Ditto. Bend, then break cultural norms. Scenes and storylines that gently grasps people's minds, seduce them into something real, then violently shatter their perception of what can be possible. Horror is like poetry. You only put things in there that makes the whole piece work. Too much gore, and complicated plotlines does not work. Who would be in my perfect horror? Not sure really.

Zombies. Zombies make the movie. If care bears had zombies, they would be a smash hit.

Of course, I do love zombies, but I think the perfect horror movie for me would have a psychological edge, as well as a twist. I do love the grotesque and surreal as well, especially if put side by side with the normal and mundane. Either that, or it could have humor without being post-Scream campy. I'd love to have a movie with Robert Englund and Bruce Campbell in it. That would be awesome.

Gore...and lots of it.
A creative villainous character. (In his/her way of killing)
Plot...but it doesn't have to be perfect.
Decent special effects....Not Computer Animation.
Comedic relief. (It's a must to have at least 1 good chuckle during the film)

The perfect horror film would be one where ther'es lots of gore, creative monsters/villains. Also, it would be where it makes you think "did that REALLY happen? Am I seeing that right?" Like SAW...that movie REALLY made you think, in my opinion, it's VERY close to horror perfection.
