xmkatx I don't agree with the end. I don't like that he erased his memories. You think he should've come clean with the truth? Sometimes it's just better off not knowing.... still... someone would've told her eventually, right? I thought the hypnosis was kind of a cop-out. I mean all the hypnosis that goes on in the movie, not just the end. The ending - I guess he chose love over everything. I don't know that someone would have told her, they don't seem to really have anyone in common anymore. Unless, like, they have to go have their DNA checked for whatever reason. I wonder why her name's different. At what point was it changed? "Mido" sounds more Japanese than Korean. One guess is that it's her sushi-chef nickname - restaurants do that sometimes. Did I miss something, or is he still wanted for the murder of his wife? As big a gossip as that hairdresser woman was, she hadn't heard? Someone I know has a theory about the ending that goes, when the hypnotist seperates Oh Dae-Su into two people (him and the monster) and kills off one of them - it's not the monster. So he still knows about the girl and he remembers all the stuff he's done. I don't know if I buy into it, but it's something to think about.

Yeah, CJ said something about that. Like he smiled with a knowing look on his face. It's similar to Eternal Sunshine in people don't want to remember the bad memories so they have it erased. I think it's best to know and remember them. Even though I can't fathom the thought of remembering incest.

yeah, it was like the way he smiled, it was like he was happy that he was with her again, but also sad because the hypnotist didn't erase the right memories or whatever. it makes the movie a whole lot sadder-er...

It was the same exact smile he had when: a. He walked out of the building and the guy with the dog fell of the roof. b. He found out his daughter had been adopted.
I could be wrong, but that smile is often accompanied by him saying "laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone".

Heh, I remember seeing the beginning with the guy and the dog, but I don't remember the purpose of that. As for Mido, I don't see how she wasn't anxious to find out what was in that box. Maybe it's just a different personality (she seems like the type to be DLG, too). I'm too much of a curious person to ignore things like that.

I guess because last time she saw a box like that, it had a guy's hand in it. And she must not have liked that, because she fainted. I'd have been curious, too, but probably not curious enough to open it.

Argh, I want to see Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance so bad. Neither Netflix nor Nicheflix are carrying it.

I was talking to JetBlack about those movies (I miss him crying ). Is Sympathy as popular as Old Boy? I'd think Nicheflix would have it... stressed

Hopefully, they're gonna get Sympathy.

I mean is it one of those films that got lots of great reviews and did well at the box office? Won lots of Korean film awards?

It did pretty well at the box office, and I don't really follow Korean movie awards. It was critically acclaimed, though.
