I'mSO EXCITED for the Little Mermaid on DVD.
it's just about my favorite movie ever.
it comes out October 3. two months! almost exactly one month after my birthday. how cool is that?

They are coming out with a lot of classic movies on DVD

I love it now that they're doing that! And they're two discs too! The last one that came out was Dumbo. I believe Alice in Wonderland was one of the first ones to be released on DVD.

the more I think about it, the more I realize Disney truly does have quite a dark side.
although, characters do get changed around a lot. Judge Frollo was much worse in the book, while the sea witch in the Hans Christian Anderson version of the Little Mermaid didn't have an agenda. she was just...a witch.

I used to watch the anime version constantly as a kid. Before I had a copy of the story I thought that the Disney version was correct and the anime was just being mean to the poor mermaid.

I haven't read any of that. I only watch the movies. xd It tends to ruin the experience for me. Even if the book is better..... whee

Disney's Little Mermaid is deffinatly the happiest version of the story.
I think that giving Ursula an agenda adds depth to the story. 3nodding

I must say, I much prefer the Disney version.
the mermaid in the fairy tale is a little too selfish for me. well...except for the end. when she doesn't kill people.
when I read the end of the story, I was just sort of like...WTF? and I had to go read it again. because it's slightly random.
