This year, since I have a full-time job, I'm limiting myself to three ground-up costumes and one refurbishment, at most....for the whole year.
Firstly, I'd like to refurbish my Miko fuku...Add some embellishments, some sleeve pulls, and the like...
For the ground-ups....
The only convention I plan to attend this year is the one that's local for me, PersaCon in Madsion, AL. Since the theme is Tradition Japanese Culture, I'm planning on making myself a full kimono, underpeices and all. It'll be fun, since now I have a sewing machine with an auto-buttonhole setting!
The second WOULD be a refurbisment of my Red Pinstripe EGL, but since I've lost so much weight, it would be more work to cut it (and all the petticoat peices
stressed ) down to my new size.....so I'm just going to re-do the whole thing...This time, the petticoat will be UBER-poofy, and I'm going to make some lacy black bloomers to go with it, and maybe do the top as a strapless corset with some only slightly attached pouf sleeves. ^_^
The third has been on my To Do list for quite a while, and I always keep the slot open, no matter what else I'm doing....Because I'm searching hopelessly for the perfect fabric. It goes along with my No-Wig set, as I call it, because I'll just need a haircut to perfectly portray Virginia Maxwell from Wild Arms 3. The pattern peices have all been constructed and transfered to permanant peices, and I've gone through the logistics of every single peice of the costume. I've got a Props Master who will do the guns (AND a Temari fan) for FREE if I let him do a live-cast of me! *dances* The hardest thing will be the boots....I need to go Thrift-shopping to find a good pair of hiking boots I can sacrifce (because I'm not paying $40+ for a pair of shoes I'm just going to mangle) or some perfectly colored (and easily workable) leather or suede.
