leiutenant_dan Pirogoth Wolfblood leiutenant_dan vendion Well its good to see you here dan 3nodding So which version the three *bantus do you like best? Xubuntu. It's light enough to run on almost any of my 8 PCs. xd Xubuntu is what I use myself normally. I prefer Gentoo, but I found I was always helping people with Ubuntu installs...and it's a bit difficult to troubleshoot a system you've never used. So I switched to Ubuntu. I find it a more bleeding edge version of debian really. Though the commercial support is nice. wink Ohh yes. xd Who doesn't hate being alone when their unsupported OS ********? : LOL, yea that has to suck pretty bad

PhaseBurn welcome first razz
second yey another Gentoo user I really like Gentoo I use it my self and I love it. I had help with installing for the first time than second time (on server) I did it my self but I still can't make kernel to compile I need a lot of time to look in to kernel configuration so for now I go with the one that is pre-made or genkernel.
and yea your life is like one cool .... damn don't know the words to express it biggrin

Thanks, GodFly, vendion... As for Gentoo, yea, I've been a user since 1.2a - 1.4 was the first version I used on servers, and I've been upgrading them ever since. Funny you should mention kernels, as one of my friends (and actually the person who got me into Gentoo all those years ago, or maybe I got him into it, I can't remember) is John M, who is the Gentoo kernel lead. He's taught me a fair bit about the Gentoo patch sets and what not - also, I've never actually used genkernel. It wasn't around when I installed Gentoo the first time, and it's just one of those things I've never played with. I will tell you that if you need a working kernel config, you can zcat /proc/config.gz >/path/to/mapped/usr/src/linux and it'll give you a .config from the LiveCD. Then just make yourself a kernel from the existing config, no hassles! Also, for gentoo users, don't forget Gentoo Wiki - they have a LOT of helpful hints, tricks, tips, and how-tos that are Gentoo-specific. As for my life, feel free to ask any questions you like - I'll answer what I can (and while I can't go into my job much, the rest of it's fair game). I will caution you that it isn't as cool as it sounds, though... I live with 2 roommates (whom are a couple, and drive me up a wall sometimes), I play Magic: The Gathering with friends from work, love playing Tetrinet with friends from WoW and IRC, and once in a while you can find me at the Japanese steak house down the street. Seriously, my life isn't overly awesome or anything, it's just... different... Then again my outlook on life is also that - different. I incorporate a lot of that into my philosophy, and just take things one day at a time. Cheers!

I'm Gunn.
I'm a fourteen year old girl, in Atlanta, Georgia...
I've been familiar with Linux, and Windows both, since about the fourth grade- though unfortunately Windows since I was six or seven.
I listen to bands like Rammstein, Metallica{Old school, not their newer stuff}, Apocalyptica, and the Cruxshadows{Seen them in concert, and I was backstage. Had an interesting conversation with Rogue, actually.}
Hnn...
I play the cello, piano, and some drums- but I like cello the most.
Anyways... Anything else you could ever know about me, I believe is on my profile. If that is not enough to sate your stalker needs, simply PM me and ask.
