The Wind shook the trees with laughter, swirling the pelts of the confused young wolves.
Sol-Lun joined the Wind in its merriment, joy glinting in his misty blue eyes for the first time in a very long while. "Didn't any one ever tell you what all that..." he paused momentarily, the crimson around his eyes seemingly traveling down the rest of his muzzle, "Well, that all that... erm... 'howling', while fun, could have certain... side effects?"
He wondered if he was being clear enough, but he was a modest wolf and was at a loss for words as to how to explain the situation.

A blank stare settled onto Gizmo's face as he glanced at the red masked wolf before him. His words weren't really making much sense and he was beginning to feel a little foolish. There was something he was supposed to know, he could feel it, so why didn't he understand?
He glanced back at Aeria and then to the other male once more, clearly quite confused by this whole situation. It seemed he wasn't the only one however and it helped ease his feeling of stupidity to know that perhaps he wasn't the only one not quite understanding. By the sounds of it Aeria wasn't quite sure what this other meant either.
Howling has...side effects? He looked a little surprised and almost frightened at this, tail moving to curl about a hind leg. Bad ones?

She snorted and stepped behind Gizmo. This was all so confusing... So what if they had howled? Wasn't that something that all wolves did? Unless he was just being cryptic and-
Oh. Aeria's ears pinned back sheepishly. We're not really talking about... howling, are we?

If face palming was something that wolves and friendly Winds did, the echo from the combined slap of Sol-Lun and his breezy friends would have quite possibly caused avalanches on far away mountain ranges. Giving the pair a practiced neutral stare, Sol-Lun breathed, repeating the Wind''s favorite mantra in his head, The bank contains the river, it only guides, never controls.
Finally, after a long and somewhat pregnant pause, he looked at the pair and replied, "No, we are not precisely talking about howling... Didn''t anyone ever explain to you where puppies come from?"

All this talk of rivers and banks was making Gizmo's head spin, he had never been one to appreciate the subtle beauty and implications of metaphors and he wasn't about to start now - his mind was simply not adept enough for such things. However after the pause in which he shifted uncomfortably he felt his skin burn and he dipped his head a little, ears pinning back as an uncomfortable feeling settled in the pit of his stomach.
Y-yes. He replied and then a look of suspicion feel upon his eyes only outweighed by his embarrassment. How wolf know such things? Had this one been...spying on them!? Then suddenly a thought hit him, but he wasn't quite sure whether he was reading into the conversation right.
Aeria "with child".
The certain something that must be done in order to have puppies.
Y-you mean Aeria...Aeria be having puppies? He glanced at her, fear and excitement dancing in his golden eyes. Sir...but how you know this?

Puppies. I'm having puppies? Aeria looked to Gizmo, then to the red-masked wolf, then to Gizmo again. We're having puppies?
Her insides lurched anxiously, perhaps a mixture of newfound excitement and her physical state. It all made sense now.
She remembered that something had to be done in order to concieve a litter...
And they must have done that something. I need to lie down, she murmured, flopping on her side next to Gizmo.

As the She fell to the ground, Sol-Lun bounded toward her, landing agily and placing his nose near her face, eyes clouding as he inhaled deeply. "She is ok," he breathed, concern painting his face.
Looking at the male, Sol-Lun thought for a moment. Why did he know? How did he know? It was too soon after the 'deed' for there to be much evidence, but somehow, he was certain.
It seems you have a Talent. Perhaps that is why you are here, to ensure the growth of the packs in these lands...
Uncertain as to whether the Wind was correct, Sol-Lun breathed heavily and prepared to share his secret. "I know... I know because I am a Shaman." There, he had said it.

Gizmo gave a small whimper, taking a step back to let the "doctor" do his work, for some reason he trusted this wolf and his judgement despite a part of his mind questioning his words. There had been a wisdom in his eyes that could not be faked and he knew that Aeria would be okay, she had to be! It was just the shock of hearing such unexpected news. Well okay not completely unexpected, but surprising nonetheless. The thought that they were going to be parents made him giddy with happiness and fear, unsure of what to expect but wanting to experience it just the same.
As the male confirmed she was okay he took a small step forwards, pressing his nose against her shoulder to let her know he wouldn't leave.
The next words that the male spoke took him by surprise however, a wolf...a shaman wolf?! He stared at him not with fear but with curiosity - a puppy-like expression that showed his innocence. Shaman? He breathed, You have magic? He wagged his tail a little at the prospect. Me never met a magical wolf before. Oh! He looked a little shocked then calmed, I Gizmo and this is Aeria.

Aeria looked up at the strange wolf, her eyes wide. She hadn't meant to worry either of the males, she had just been feeling slightly faint from the topic of conversation. She did appreciate the concern, though. The stranger clearly wasn't a threat to either her or Gizmo.
She lifted her head to return her mate's nuzzle, assuring him that she was indeed fine.
A Shaman! She looked back at the kind stranger with wonder. So that's how you knew... Oh, you must be very powerful! She smiled, her tongue peeking out of her mouth cutely. It's so nice to meet you, Sir.

"Some magic," he repied, smiling. "You've never met a magic wolf, young one, because I'm all there is." Nodding as the male offered their names, Sol-Lun offered his own in return. "And I am Sol-Lun. Its very nice to meet you."
Smiling down at Aeria, he chuckled, "Power is relative, sweetling."
That had turned out much better than he thought. "Will you need help getting back to your pack?"

The idea of magic made Gizmo almost want to bounce up and down in excitement and the very idea showed in his eyes. Magic! Even the word brought a shudder of curiosity running along his spine. You the only magical wolf? He said with growing awe, and he Gizmo had been lucky enough to meet with him! He certainly had been fortunate as of late, meeting lots of nice wolves and reuniting with Aeria.
Is Aeria and puppies going to be okay? He asked after a moment, glancing at his beautiful mate with a little relief, she was smiling and seemed to be happier now that the initial shock had settled...but the puppies?
You see the puppies? Hear them? He was curious to how this "magic" thing worked, he wouldn't deny that. He turned to glance at Aeria next, allowing her to answer the wolf's question of help, if she felt like she needed it then he was sure she would accept the offer.

She shrugged slightly, her shoulders lifting in a lazy motion. I think we could find it... but it has been a very long time. Aeria looked up at Gizmo for confirmation, but he seemed far too entranced by the thought of a magical wolf.
Looking down at her stomach, Aeria narrowed her eyes. So they're in there, huh? They must be little... She shifted a bit, trying to be careful of her abdomen. How long will they stay... in me?

"It is far too soon for the puppies to show themselves, but yes, I think I will be able to see them once they have grown a bit. Spoting conception is apparently one of my Talents. And yes, fear not. Your mate and the pups are well."
Chucking again at the silly wolves, not far out of puppyhood themselves, Sol-Lun offered his services. "I can check in with you every once in awhile, make sure they are still ok, if you would like. Aeria, you probably wont notice any change for awhile, but you will soon feel them move within you and after the turn of many moons, your pups will come out into the light, to join the world and begin their own cycle."

He breathed out a sigh of relief and allowed himself to enjoy the moment and try to forget all the worries. They would have Haku and Lera there to aid them and help them, for parenthood had already blessed their happy lives once before.
He listened quietly as Sol-Lun spoke to Aeria with wonder, it must be so strange to have other lives inside of you, growing and needing you so desperately. He wasn't sure whether he'd be able to cope with such knowledge himself.

I would like that. I'd like for them to grow big and healthy, she said, looking down at her stomach again. It was so strange to think there were other lives inside her body.
Aeria stood back up and nudged Gizmo. Well, what do you think? Should we have Sol-Lun take us back to the pack?
