Quote: This RP takes place in the freelands shortly after Gizmo leaves Fea's land and journeys back to his own pack. The dappled sunlight warmed the mix of white and browns along his body as he moved swiftly beneath the trees, head raised as he scented the air. The forest here was filled with scents of other wolfves, some familiar and some not, some new and some old. It made his head dizzy to try and sort through them as he went. There was one scent in particular that he wanted to find more than any other, a beautiful wolfess he had left moons ago. He hoped she hadn't already moved on, perhaps thinking that he had forgotten his promise, but no...he would never forget it.
The trees suddenly gave way to a grassy ledge which looked out across the river, ears twitching forwards he raised his head, deciding now was the best time to begin his search for her. Pale jaws parted as he howled out a plea for her, "where are you?" was the message, "I return." He hoped that she would recognise his tone, and be within earshot...if not then he had a lot of travelling to do.

Suuru followed just behind Gizmo, darting through the trees and keeping himself well out of sight. His master wanted him to follow the pack-brother, make sure that the demon wolves wouldn't do harm to the pup and -if- harm did come, he was to alert the others. Of course, Suuru had his own plan of action in case harm came to the friendly wolf. Crows- though much smaller than wolves- were too underestimated. Their talons were sharp and powerful- powerful enough to remove decent ammounts of flesh or a pair of eyes, their beaks were thick and hard, in large groups they were definately a force to be reconed with. Their flocks weren't called "murders" for no reason.
Landing on a thin branch above where the young wolf howled the crow finally caught his chance to rest his wings. The black feathers smoothed along his body, a few stood on end and those he turned to preen at. Damn things, always itching and bothering his poor wings.

((Sorry sorry sorry! xD;;;;; ))
Aeria had settled down in the grass with a large stick she had discovered, and lazily chewed it while the other wolves were off elsewhere. She still enjoyed such simple things, despite the fact that she was clearly no longer a pup. She had grown leaps and bounds in the time she had been in the new territory.
The wolf liked the new area well enough. Friendly wolves, fresh water, plenty to eat... The only thing that was missing was Gizmo. After his departure she had often wondered if she had made the wrong decision in staying behind. She missed her old friend and often wished that she had his company once more. He would come back though, he had to.
Aeria stopped her chewing as she became wistful. Thinking about Gizmo was clearly playing with her mind... She almost swore that she could hear him off in the distance, calling for her.

(( tis okie m'dear heart ))
The young male slid down the ledge somewhat clumsily, forepaws outstretched to stop a fast descent as he made his way over to the stretch of water ahead of him. So far he had been given no sign that his friend was near and that was a little down-heartening yet he had faith that they would soon meet, they had to! He had to tell her about all the things he had done, all the wolves he had spoken to! So many new friends he had made in the forest, ones that he knew he definately wanted to meet in the future.
He paused at the water's edge and lowered his head, lapping thirstily for a moment, raising his head only when he was sure he had drunk enough. Water dripped from his parted maw as he glanced around and even as he stood still the wind shifted. Cool tresses blew up around his face, bringing with it new scents from the area just ahead of him and carried with it was the scent he had been waiting for.
Aeria... Her name was released in a slow breath, a tingle of excitement running along his spine as he realised she was close.
With not a second thought he was throwing himself into the water, splashing through it with not a graceful step. The splashes alerted other creatures; frogs, fish and birds quickly fleeing the scene at this seemingly mad wolf. As he neared the middle he was forced to swim, paws paddling furiously as he made his way to the other side. Then as he finally emerged on the opposite bank, his soaked form was revealed once more to the sunshine.
Raising his muzzle he gave a short bark of greeting, front paws rising from the ground at the effort and in seconds he was off again, chasing down the wolfess he had not seen in a long time, a shimmer of droplets following in his wake.

Aeria was started from her contemplation by a splash and a bark. She quickly got to her feet and began looking around for the source of the sounds. That bark had sounded so familiar...
Could it be Gizmo? Had he returned? Her tail began to wag at the thought, and she bounded off towards the source of the sound, giving a small excited yip as she ran.

(( short but sweet! ))
Water ran from his fur as he ran, dark lips pulled back in a wide, wolfish smile as he ran towards his destination. It had been so long, too long! He craved to set eyes on her more than any other wolf he had ever met, when he was with her he was home, no matter where the place was.
Then as he scrambled around the cover of some tangled undergrowth he skidded to a halt, legs quivering as he set eyes upon the female running in his direction. That couldn't be little Aeria, the very first pup he had met upon leaving his former pack. There was no pup before him now, a sleek and beautiful wolfess, no...a goddess whose beauty was enough to even outshine the moon.
His golden eyes were captivated by her, no longer paying attention to the water that was pooling about his paws as he stood stock still, enchanted by the wolf he cared for more than any other. Then finally he snapped from his trance, muscles quivering with anticipation as he felt a sudden shyness engulf him. He swallowed back these feelings and gave her a coy smile, ears twitching as he glanced over her once more, throat suddenly drying up. What could he say to her after all this time? Would a simple hello suffice? No, no no no! He wagged his own tail fiercely in reply to her own and took a few more steps towards her.

As Aeria rounded a cluster of trees she came to a sudden stop. There was a wolf standing right there in front of her. An adult male wolf.
Her eyes studied him carefully. He was completely soaked, clearly the source of the splashing she had heard. His coloring seemed to be the same as Gizmo's, he had the same cute pink nose and the same kind golden eyes. But this wolf did not seem to be that little pup she had met in the winter. He was so... handsome.
Aeria looked away for a moment, embarassed by her train of thought. What would Gizmo think if he knew? When her eyes darted back to the strange wolf he was smiling at her and wagging his tail. Was there any chance? He began to approach and she spoke quietly...
Gizmo?

(( Oh Dora, do you happen to have a picture of adult Aeria? I've looked and can't find it anywheres. ))
He noticed her glance away in a somewhat coy manner and suddenly came to realise that he was not the only one feeling like this. Not the only wolf who was a little nervous at being reunited with a best friend. Aeria had always been there, been so kind to him, shared her life with him as he had grown. She was special to him and always would be. There was a place in his heart for her where no other wolf belonged, not friend or brother...this place was for something else and her alone. It was the part of him that pined whenever he was seperated from her, the part of him that dreamed of her whilst sleeping in a strange land.
Could this truly be the sort of love that Haku had spoken to him about during his early teens? Could she be the one?
Questions raced through his mind so fast that he thought he might lose balance and fall over - but was saved by the quiet voice that tickled teasingly at his ears. She had spoken his name!
As if that had been the word to undo the spell he bound forwards, body tingling as he moved to bury his face into her neck fur, eyes glazed with the sheer emotional strain of this reunion. She smelt the same sweet scent, her fur was still as soft and she was beautiful!
Then when he finally spoke his words were mumbled and not distinguishable against her fur forcing him to momentarily pull back to gaze into her sleek, feminine face. Gizmo miss Aeria lots.

((Why yes, I do! Now the giant wolf shall interrupt the rp for a moment... )) Aeria's eyes widened as the wolf buried his face in her neck, then softened. It was Gizmo!
She grinned as he mumbled into her fur, then repeated himself. Gizmo was so adorable, she was reminded again of how lonely she was without him. I missed you too, Gizmo.
The wolf gave a few short, excited yips before nuzzling his cheek. You'll have to tell me everything! I'm sure you've had wonderful adventures!

(( Ahh wow I keep forgetting just how damn pretty she is! ;__; *swoons* ))
She missed him? She truly had! A strange feeling warmed his heart and fluttered in his stomach, causing him to squirm a little. What was this strange emotion that kept teasing at him, worrying at him like a wolf on a bone? It wasn't something that he minded however, filling the gap in his heart at her absense and making him feel whole again.
'Ventures yes. He nodded, eyes glistening and tail ever wagging. Me met Fea's mate, saw his land. It real pretty, with flowers and trees and a sparkly star that dropped from the sky. He knew that the location of Fea's land was to be kept secret but he was sure that his brother would not mind if he brought Aeria to see it one day. She was a beautiful wolfess in herself and the place which offered such eye-catching landsape seemed to suit her perfectly.
He paused to gaze at her once more, hardly believing how wonderful she looked, it suddenly seemed a long time ago when he had stared into her young puppy face. Fea have bigger pack now, no one bother him no more, no fighting. All good. He nodded confidently, I meet other wolves on way back, they nice and meeting them fun but not as good as meeting you 'gain. If he could blush he would have done so, glancing sheepisly at the ground just infront of his paws. Me also met Lera, she rebuilding pack. I say I help her too, want things to be how used to be. It had saddened him greatly to think of their once powerful pack had crumbled to a mere handful of wolves. He was determined to change that one way or another.
Against his will he moved forwards onece more, pressing the side of his muzzle against hers for a brief moment, enjoying the feeling that their closeness gave him. What Aeria been doing? He asked, You grow since I last see you, you really p-pretty. He pawed nervously at the ground, lowering his head and glancing up at her through the corners of his almond shaped eyes.

Aeria's face lit up at Gizmo's description of Fea's land. It sounded so beautiful, and his pack sounded nice as well. She smiled at the mention of Lera, and nodded slightly as he spoke of rebuilding. What had happened to the pack? No matter, it sounded like Gizmo would be going back to them, and where he went she would follow. She did not want to let him out of her sight again and risk missing him! Her eyelids fluttered shut for a moment as he pressed his muzzle to hers.
I've been here, wondering about you and doing a lot of thinking... about the future. Her voice trailed off a bit, wondering if he would catch any of the implications in that sentence.
She swore she felt a blush forming under her fur as Gizmo called her "pretty". You've grown too, Gizmo! I almost didn't know it was you! Aeria smiled gently and he looked up at her somewhat sheepishly. You're very handsome, Gizmo.

At her nod to the situation with Lera he smiled a little more, it seemed she too had the same aspiration to make the pack work again. All there was to do now was to find Haku and get him to return to Lera. With the two alphas back in their roles it wouldn't be long before their pack could be reformed, even if it was just the four of them it would be enough to satiate Gizmo for the time being.
Aeria had been thinking of the future? He tilted his head curiously and gazed at her in awe, he too had been dwelling on events that had yet to pass. Such things had been a little confusing to say the least but it helped pass the time and gave him goals in which to work towards. The first matter was of course to do with the pack, but there were other ideas that kept creeping up on him. He wanted to settle down, surrounded by friends, take up a role that had been shown to him by both of his brothers; a mate, some pups and a life in which to live peacefully. He shifted a little uncomfortably at this trail of thought, tugging his eyes away from the she-wolf and to the forest around them. What would she say if he told her....told her that he cared for her more than just a friend? These feelings had confused him when he had been younger, and they still bemused him now, but they were strong enough to make him realise that he had never felt this way about any other wolfess before.
He smiled at her next exclamation of almost not recognising him and gave a small yip, moving to tug playfully at one of her ears. An affectionate gesture he had maintained since he had been a pup. Me think future is bright. Gizmo agreed, mulling over his words carefully, every day I 'way from you I feel like heart empty. You be first ever friend who nice to Gizmo and we stay friends for long time. He lowered his snout and gazed up at her in earnest. I thought that what I feel for Aeria was just friendship...b-but...me think it more than that. He swallowed nervously, ears pinning back a in a shy manner.
When Gizmo walk back to keep promise to you, I think at how much I miss you...how much me need you by my side. Aeria... He released her name in a breath, closing his eyes as a welcome breeze brought a swirl of flower petals up around them. He breathed deeply, inhaling their pleasant scent and shuffled a little closer to her. Gizmo love Aeria. His voice shuddered a little as he brought his eyes up to claim her own dark, liquid pools.
His future...his future revolved around her, without this beautiful female by his side there was nothing but a bleak existance for himself no matter how many friends he surrounded himself with.

She grinned and snapped back as Gizmo played with her ear. Her demeanor became quiet when he started to talk.
Her ears perked up at his words, turning towards his sweet voice. He seemed so nervous, and Aeria lowered her head a little bit as well, feeling sorry that he would be so apprehensive about talking to her like that.
Aeria's eyes suddenly met his as he said the most wonderful words she could ever imagine. She stared at his lovely eyes, at the emotions that swirled there, and a smile crept its way across her face. Gizmo loved her. Gizmo was in love with her. It was almost too much for her, the wolf's heart fluttered as she repeated it over in her head. She closed her eyes for a long moment as she thought of how to respond.
Gizmo, you're the first friend I've ever had... the best friend I could ever possibly have. When you're away, when you leave... She opened her eyes and looked at him fully. You take my heart with you. And when I'm with you my spirit feels like it's soaring.
I love you too, Gizmo. She closed the distance between them and buried her face in the warm fur at his neck. I never, ever want to be away from you again, she murmured.

The silence between the end of his confession and her answer seemed to lengthen, seconds turning into minutes as he listened to nothing but the frantic beating of his own heart. He felt light-headed, nervous and altogether worried that he might not have explained himself properly.
What if she did not approve of these feelings that he had for her? What if his heartfelt words were not returned by her? Had he just destroyed the best friendship he had ever had by doing so? His ears flattened a little as he watched her carefully, trying to distinguish her expression to give him any clue of what was going through her mind. White tail curled about a hind leg nervously and he shifted his weight from one paw to another.
She looked to be quite content however, eyes closed as if she had fallen asleep where she stood. Was this a good sign or was she trying to think of a way to let him down gently?
Then finally she spoke and when she did he felt his legs turn to jelly. They left him so giddy with disbelief and shock that he wasn't quite sure what to do or say. He met her eyes eagerly, lapping up the sight of her and imprinting it to his memory; a picture he never wanted to forget.
The light played along her deep brown fur, causing it to glisten as if threaded with sunshine and as she moved against him he let out a small sigh. Gizmo never leave Aeria again... He whispered, rasping a pink tongue over one of her ears and resting his own face against her. She was so incredibly warm, her fur smelling sweeter than any flowers one could come across. He could feel her warm breath tickling against his neck fur where she had her face nestled against him and finally after all this time, Gizmo felt complete.
Long time ago now when I first met with brother Haku I look to him and say I want be lone. I no need others to stay alive...but now...now Gizmo has opened his eyes, he see future with you. He see a future with friends, family. He closed his eyes, breathing in deeply and exhaling once again as a sigh, me watch Lera and Haku lead us, keep us safe, even have pups of own. Maybe...maybe we do that too. Aeria make good mother me think. He blushed against his own accord and nuzzled closer to her. I...I love you. He repeated the words again as a whisper, hardly believing that he had the courage to say them not once but twice. She deserved to hear them again, she deserved to know how truly wonderful and dear she was to him.

The wolf squeezed her eyes shut happily as Gizmo licked her ear and brought his face to hers. He was so sweet, so gentle and affectionate. He hadn't changed at all from that adorable little pup she met.
Aeria listened quietly as he spoke about his past and his future... and her future as well. A strange pang of longing shot through her as he mentioned the two of them back with their pack, having puppies, her being a mother. They would be like a real family... No, not just like a family, they would truly be a family, but she felt unfit for the role of a matriarch.
She hung her head and looked up at him shyly. I don't know if I would make a good mother... I can't even remember my own mother, how would I know what to do? Oh Gizmo, I could be a terrible disaster! She laughed slightly at the images going through her head, the two of them trying to raise a litter. She still thought of them as pups quite often, puppies having puppies? It didn't make much sense.
Pressing her nose to his briefly, she smiled in a reassuring gesture. I love you, you know that? I feel like I can't say it enough.
