She's the spirit of your sorrow and the reason for your tears... |~^.[ Remus is a werewolf who was suspected of aiding a murderer's entry into Hogwarts. Hagrid was expelled for the CoS incident, but even though he was innocent of that, he was still raising an Acromantula within castle walls. And yet, Dumbledore allowed Remus and Hagrid to come back to Hogwarts to teach (or, in Hagrid's case, as the gamekeeper). Snape betrays the Potters to Voldemort, but Dumbledore forgives him. Wormtail betrays the Potters to Voldemort, but Harry saves his life. I'm seeing a trend here, that trend being...oh, I don't know what I'd call it...maybe redemption? ].^~| ...She's your fury and your glory and your deepest, darkest fears.

Hey now no need to get snippy!!!!!! I didn't say it was wrong I said I didn't think so! In my eyes to redeem yourself you have to do something wrong and although raising an acromantula in the school is pretty bad there have been worse things done. And talking about how Snape redeems himself is like beating a dead horse! We all already know that he is redeeming himself. I still don't see Remus as needing redemption. Also Harry only saved Wormtail because he was thinking of Sirius and Remus not of Peter needing a second chance. So Peter wasn't redeemed he just got lucky.

For Remus, let me clarify. He was suspected in helping Sirius get into the castle when Sirius was suspected to be a serial killer and a newly escapee from Azkaban. Aiding a criminal is most definitely a bad thing. Plus, if one just judges from what he is, many people probably judge Remus as a pretty bad dude, since he's a werewolf. You think werewolf, you think nasty thing that goes crazy once a month with bloodthirst, something that has probably killed a lot of innocence bunny rabbits. I think Remus has most definitely redeemed himself in the books since the third book by joining the Order, and fighting the good battle. *nods*

Not to mention that, from Sirius' comments during PoA, he thought Remus was the spy, and if Sirius thought that, a few of the others might have as well.
And Sirius was the one who almsot fed Snape to a werewolf, so he would have had to redeem himself to regain his friends' trust, wouldn't he?
I wasn't being 'snippy', but I admit that what I wrote did come across as being a little like that. I'm sorry!

Remus should be involved in every theme in the story. XD

Oh, definitely. Remus is the most adorable, wonderful, darling character in the books. He just makes you want to give him a hug. ^.^

So, anyway, we have come to a general consensus that redemption has a reoccuring role in the books, and because of that, it is likely that Severus will redeem himself in DH?

Yes, I think that we can all agree on that statement.
Unless there's a Devil's Advocate out there somewhere, waiting to use her evilness to attack our point... *looks around for Diana* She always keeps the drama going...

Well, I could change sides in a sudden, dramatic betrayal with the sole purpose of stirring up discussion. It could even be accompanied by a soundtrack. ^.^
I actually can argue pretty well for Snape being on the evil side. I don't do it often because I don't agree that he's evil, but I certainly know the arguments.

And I'm back!! Hey, ok I'm still not seeing it but I'll back down this once because I don't feel like fighting. It's ok Mage, I live with the most snippy of people so it's cool. So anyway to point out the obvious if Snape redeems himself then so does Draco right? Or is he not 'bad' enough?(no sarcasm intended!)
