Matt left the State HQ and began to travel along the streets. It was about 1:38 a.m. and nobody was out at this time, not many anyways. A couple people would pass by the young alchemist every so often and of corse cars would move up and down the streets. Silence would be broken every now and then from the cars passing by and then the area would go back to being quiet. So quiet that every small child play park that Matt passed would buzz with activity from crickets. And every time a car passed they we go into silence until the car sounds would vanish.
Finaly Matt left the sight of the last park he would come accross and entered the urban area of Central. Nothing but buildings could be seen, not even a small tree was planted in this area. In the distance the fog had a brownish tint to it, indicating slight cases of smog that litered the air above him.
"Forge." Wispered a familiar voice. Matt emediatly stopped and turned his head to his right to see Scar in the shadows of an alley. Leaning his back against the wall as he stared at Matt and waited for the alchemist to approach.
Matt infact approached and looked at him. "What do you want Scar?" He wispered calmly and leaned his back against the opposite wall.
Scar studied the young alchemist for a moment and then began to speak, "Do you know what a Homonculis is?" The Ishbalan replied.
"No. Why?" answered Matt
"Find the newly rebuilt 1st Branch of the military's Library and locate any information about Homonculis. Then come back and speak to me, there's something you should know, Forge Alchemist." Replied Scar as he started to walk away.
Matt quickly interrupted him and turned to face the Ishbalan. "It's not that easy Scar. You need permission from the Fuhrer to enter the 1st Branch now because of some kind of probablem they have had in the past. I think it was blown up or something."
Scar emediatly stopped and glared as he stared off into the shadows. He had almost forgotten about Kasumi, and she was indeed the Fuhrer. Unfortunitly Scar couldn't just tell Matt the truth about the Fuhrer, not until the alchemist understood the term of Homonculis. "I encounted your friend John...he told me to tell you...not everything in the State is as pure as it seems. I suggest you find a way to get into the First Branch without notifieing anyone, including the Fuhrer." With that Scar walked and dissapeared, leaving Matt behind to think about what the Ishbalan had said.
"Dammit Scar, you're going to really get me in trouble." Wispered Matt. He began to walk back towards the State Headquaters. Once he had left the alley, he quickly grabbed a taxi and was driven back to the base. There Matt stepped out of the car and passed through the gates. The night was pitch black, stars illuminated the sky above and provided a small ammount of light to the planet.
Matt stopped and looked at the main office, unable to spot any State Alchemists and then slowly turned his head to the State Library off to his left. With a soft grunt Matt went into a stealth like action and started towards the Library, quickly located the front of the first branch and then spotting the guards placed outside. Then, silently Matt ran around the back and located window near the top.
With a clap of his hands he transmuted a large nearby object into a long pole which small notches that he could up. Even though the proccess was loud, nobody was around to see him because of the distance and where he was at.
Quickly Matt opened the window and hoped in. Once reliseing he was in the addic, the alchemist quickly found a way into the library itself. From there Matt procceded to the front desk and had to duck under a large cart of books to avoid being scene by the librarian who was on her late night shift. Once she had gone back to reading, Matt quickly snuck around her desk and stole a list of alphabeticle sections of the Library. After reliseing that Homonculis would fall under science fiction, Matt set the list back down and continued on his search.
When he had gotten far away enough, Matt broke off into a dead run and then stopped once he had reached the Science Fiction section. Matt began to search alphabeticly from book to book, finaly coming accross a book intitled 'Old History, Fact or Fiction?' which the name itself sparked his interest. Once he read through it, he noticed the name Homonculis. Upon further inspection he came to relise the truth behind them but he didn't quite understand how it was possible.
Matt snatched the book without noticeing a small journal tucked inside. He wouldn't know until later the next morning. But at this moment Matt left the same way he had come in and then hid the book into his coat as he entered the main office. From there Matt headed towards his special room where he could sleep and forget about what he had done until he woke up.

Adenine still trailed after the Fuhrer, up the steps and into the hallways, people bowing to the woman before her or giving polite nods and salutes, and of course everyone eyeing her. This was such an uncomfortable situation, and she hated being put on the spot like this, but she continued following, and speeding up as the Fuhrer did to catch up with the little puppy, of whom was apparently called Joy as she found out in a few minutes. Entering the room when Fuhrer had her back turned, since it was obvious this was their destination by how the door was labeled, she opened the door quietly and stepped in. What instantly caught her eye in the room was photograph of several people, and then even more photographs near it, causing her to go over to the shelves on the far side of the room directly out of eye sight. The desk had many papers on it, practically over flowing, some of it even in code that she could not read, but it really was not important to her just yet.
Realizing the Fuhrer had not come in yet, she peeked her head around the door and opened it fully, a confused look gracing her pale, fair child's face. The puppy joy ran into the room, circling little Adenine, her body tensing up as the dog ran around. She had never had any pet except a snake and her sister, and she was not sure if it would try to bite her or not. While she loved all animals, with the lack of her sister's care, she had gotten herself into trouble with a few bigger dogs in the woods, and had inadvertently caused blood to be spilled, crying about it for so long. She had not meant to active the alchemy her sister had told her to inscribe into her wings, but it had happened and life had been lost. Sitting down on a small, comfortable looking couch before the desk, she waited quietly for the explanation she still was supposed to get, quite focused on still getting to the library after taking the exam, sure that the way to help her sister was there, since it was no where else.

Kasumi whistled once calling Joy to her side, just so Joy did come and follow Kasumi. She down behind her desk setting the paperwork on the floor for now. Joy jumped up onto Kasumi's lap since Joy after not seing Kasumi for a few days was attached to her now. She stared down at Joy for a moment and getnly patted Joy on the head then turned her attention back to the girl.
"Now then, the reason why I have changed the date until a few days later is simply because I am not going to let anymore people be killed, since many have already been killed. And considering that anyone who is a state alchemist will be killed, age, gender, it doesn't matter. So that's why, hopefullt I'll have this mess cleaned up by then..."
Kasumi sighed and moved her eyes away from the young girl enraged about this. Considering that she herself was a homunculis and that another one was going killing her men. Though it seems as though Jenkins has been the only one killed by the homunculi which made things a little better. The fact of the matter was that Scar knew she was a homunuli, and considering that Scar's ablity didn't work it left her to wonder what would happen the next time they meet but more importantly make sure no one else finds out about her or any other homunculis there where.

"You may stay in Central if you like, personaly that's up to you. As for the killer it's an Ishbalan male. Seeking revenge for the Ishbalans killed during the massacre..."
Kasumi closed her eyes and slightly bite her bottom lip thinking back to it. Even she didn't enjoy such a bloody hell. May in the state called it a rebellion yet they all knew it was a massacre. She opened her eyes just a tiny bit and stared at the floor noticing her sword on the ground behind her desk. She reached over grabbing the sword and setting it on her desk, since knowing Joy she'd think it was a toy. Kasumi changed her gaze to her sword sitting there silently.

Adenine smiled slightly, since staying in central would help, even if she knew no one and had no where to stay. That sunny smile quickly faded away though at the mention of who the killer was. Just one person causing the problem and so many deaths in the State as a result of such actions. This Ishbalan had to be dangerous, whatever an Ishbalan was, since she had only heard the name a few times before, and seen it in much literature, but had never looked into it. Revenge was not nice though, not at all, nothing she would ever participate in. She was a little girl who could not hold a grudge, at least not yet. The Fuhrer looked uncomfortable again, and being a person who often beat herself up over things, she jumped to a conclusion she had somehow helped bring on the Fuhrer's pain. Her sea greenish blue eyes however quickly came across the sword that the Fuhrer was now picking up, a shudder running up her spine and wings. Any bladed tool was a dangerous thing, and that would fall under that category of what was on her back too, but she disliked seeing implements intended to cause death.
Guessing that was all that was going to be said as the Fuhrer started fading from the real world, and she wished so much she could help, she stood up, layers of light, white fabric making little noise. "Thank you very much for your time, ma'mm. I will be back around in two days to the exam signing offices, and I do hope the State can resolve these matters without further trouble." Her voice was soft, polite, and rather a higher pitched voice as usual, but she opened up the office door again slipping out and closing it behind her. Walking down the hallways slowly, and passing people as she went, she tried to decide where to go next. She was sure her sister would have already found a good place to curl up for the night, since she knew no one here and did not even know the area. With her sister's help she could probably transfigure a temporary dwelling, but she just wished the exams would come faster. It was getting dark outside, she thought as she started going down the great steps, hearing her sister not far away, and still lugging that bag that seemed far too large for her to carry.

Kausmi sighed and closed her eyes leaning back in her chair. Joy jumped off of Kasumi's lap and curled up under her desk and fell asleep. She got up out of her chair placing her sword on her right side. Bending down she gently pated Joy on the ead and smiled gently. After that she stood back up her gentle face gone but instead she seemed to lack any emotions right now. Kasumi walked out of her office down the hlalways kowing that Scar had to be the first and above all other problems.
As she walked outside of headquarters she looked around noticing there where few people out on the streets. Since Scar would not go out in public and chances where he probably wasn't close to the headquaters it left her to wonder where he could be. She walked down the streets and looked around almost scanning to see if there where any signs of Scar. So far she had none.

Matt slowly came too and opened his eyes. He rolled over to see the book on the bed next to him, right where he left it. With a soft yawn Matt brought himself up and grabbed the book, a small piece of folded paper fell out which cought his attention. Slowly he picked it up and opened it, onlye a couple things were written down in the piece of paper. One of those words formed the phrase The Fuhrer and little info about what seemed to be Kasumi.
For a brief moment Matt tried to think who had this book last and the only way to find out would be to approach the clerk at the first branch. But he couldn't do that, he would be punished for sneaking in and taking the book.
Quickly he folded the paper back up and stashed it to the side as he opened the large book and began to read. "Funny, why would Scar tell me to read this crap? Does he believe in ghosts now?" He grunted. Matt continued to flip through the pages, reading information about homunculis and about recent events in the past.
Another paper fell out of the book as Matt lifted the book and stared at it. His eyes followed the paper, and instead of having just a couple names or words on it, it appeared to be more of a newspaper. The State newspaper which was dated a couple years ago, during the Ishbal Massacare. Information about the war and what part the Homunculis played started to spark his interest. However, what really got his attention was the signature at the bottom. The paper was signed by Jenkins who was just a private at the time. "He suspects something?" Matt turned his head to the folded up piece of paper at his side. He began to think Jenkins was onto something, now he really had to figure out who was the last to check this book out.

Kasumi sighed placing joy on the ground as Joy curled up and went to sleep. She grabbed her sword holding it's hikt in her right hand leaving the sheeth on. She walked out of her office and outside noticing few people out. Kasumi walked down the streets and turned into the nearest alley and continued to walk down the series of alleys knowing or at least hoping to run into Scar.
She though about Matthew for a moment about how he seemed to be around Scar yet never fight. Could it be that he was going to betray the state? She'd find out from Scar just what was going on, no matter what she had to do there's always a way to get what you want, at least in hr sadistic mind there was. Sometimes they just need the proper insurance before they talk. ' I'll learn the truth about them, then if need be I'll bring them both down.' Kasumi thought as she kept walking.

Matt left his office, the book stashed away in an inner pocket of his trench coat. He walked unnaturaly which drawed quite a few alchemist's attention, even though they despised him already, he just seemed so suspicsious. That's when Hughes had jumped out infront of him and tried to get a good look at the young alchemist. "What do you want?" Matt muttered.
"Whatcha got there? Is it an animal?" Asked the Lieutenant Colonel.
With a soft grunt Matt replied, "No Hughes." With a soft sigh he started to walk away.
Hughes interrupted him yet again and tugged on Matt's trench coat. "Come on Forge, you can't just run around like you're doing and not expect an inspection. What's in your jacket...or do I have to cheer you up a bit?" Hughes put one hand into his coat pocket and began to pull out a piece of paper.
Matt's eyes widdened. "No! Don't! Please for the love of..."
"Aint she the cutest?" Hughes placed the picture of his doughter in Matt's face and made a puppy dog face. "Awww she's the best because she's mine right? Doesn't she just want to make you smile? I am so proud to be her father." Hughes started to craddle the picture and then noticed Matt grunt and look away. Before Matt could do anything else, Hughes dived his hand into Matt's trench coat and snatched the book.
A glare formed on Matt's face. "Not cute Hughes!" He grumbled.
Hughes was confused when he stared at the book. "Hey Matt....does Kasumi know you have this book? Or did you sneak in on your own time to grab this book." His face went back to it's normal stare and he looked at Matt before continueing, "I wonder what kind of punishment you would get from Kasumi for this?"
"Probably another slap to the face, now give it back!" Matt tried to grab it but Hughes was too quick, even though it looked as if he wasn't paying attention.
The Lieutenant began to scan through the book and then stopped when he noticed the news paper and information about the Homunculis. "Now who put you up to this?" He asked and turned to face Matt who gave him a blank stare.
"Nobody, I looked on my own and found the book quite interesting now if you would please..." Matt snatched the book and pocketed it, quickly secureing it back into his coat. "I need to find out who had this book last and then why." The Forge alchemist added and then started towards the Library of the State.
Hughes watched Matt walk away and then quickly said softly to the alchemist before he got out of range, "Careful Matt, your dipping your nose way too far down the rabbit hole."

"Damn it, I can't waste all day wondering around here like this..."
Kasumi muttered to herself as she stopped and sat down for a moment deciding it best to think things out. The best hoice was to go back to where they had fought and continue her search from there, or she could search from above as well. Either way as long as there wheren't people around she could use her second plan which would be the best. Kasumi quickly changed into a black raven as she flew up out of the alleys and above the buildings scouting around the city knowing that this would in turn be much faster.
Kasumi flew towards the rebuilt 1st branch of the Central Library and landed in the alley not to far away making sure no one was around she changed back to normal. She walked out towards the end of the alley looking into the street deciding to watch form here for any signs of Scar, knowing that he would not come by street but still it gave her something to do for the time being until she decided to go walk aroud looking for Scar.

Matt snuck around the back of the Library and procceded to the spot where he had transmuted a later for himself. From there he climbed up and entered the addict. Before he entered the second floor of the 1st branch, he thought to himself and of an idea. His mission would be simple, infiltrate the first floor and then take a stack of lists that would show the names of who checked out which book. However, the clerk was always on her toes so doing this would be hard because the list would be right infront of her.
Quickly he entered the second floor and began to sneak towards the stares that would lead him to the first floor. Every so often he would look around to see if anybody else was around or following him but all he could see were shadows. The windows were blocked off so he was unable to see the sun shinning to brightly outside.

Kasumi turned around for a moment scratching the back of her head in wonder. 'I must be going crazy sitting here like this...' Kasumi thought as she took a few steps back into the alley then stopped and sighed shacking her head as she placed her hands back in her pockets. No one would try to break in, not that she could think of anyways. Kasumi sat down in a spot where she could slightly see the street and back alley. From the back alley she would be visible but from the streets she'd wouldn't be very visible.
She sat there for a moment then stood up going futher into the alley making sure she wans't in few of people in the streets as she changed back into a reaven and flew up and thoguht she saw something in the back alley but decided it was nothing. The raven flew up above the library and began to fly off towards headquaters realizing that she should take Joy home.

Kasumi landed in an alley where there where no people changing back into her human form and walked out of the alley her hands in her pockets. She looked around hoping to find something to do until she tracks down Scar. She seemed in a bit of a daze right considering she almost tripped over her own feet.
"Damn it, there's got to be a easy way to check the city out..."
Kasumi muttered still thinking of a way to carefully yet quickly inspect the city, flying though quick would not be a very detailed search as walking would be more slower it would give her the chance to check every nook and crany. Letting out a small sigh and seeming a bit dissappionted she walked back towards headquaters.
