I think it's apparent that the WoT guild is pretty zombie-ish. I don't think Nanako has any desire to be here anymore (still talk to her on almost a daily basis). Tarma is.. erm.. well.. Tarma's dealing with life and doesn't have the means or time to do this. And as for everyone else, I have zero clue.
Although.. I am somewhat open to a new story, genre, setting, etc.

I sent Doberler a text about the guild but I don't expect anything back to soon. With him it's never easy to predict.

Yea, I know he's got a lot going on irl. I could, technically, stalk him down and whatnot.. since he lives like 20 miles from me.. but I'll leave him be. He's got a family and all to look after.

Well we could do a "only a few escape the manor" type thing, but then we need to recruit big time...at least it would be in character

Well, if we take that approach.. it's just 3 dudes.. and a witch.. looking for something to do. And honestly, I've not been immersed in WoT for a while, so I have foggy details about the world.
That, and I've been doing a lot of writing myself. So, I'm totally immersed in my world. It's kind of devoured me.
I dunno. I could keep doing lore master stuff, but I'd like withdraw my characters from it so I could focus on you guys being entertained.

So perhaps....it is time the party died and we resurrect a new guild in its place? I mean we should keep the story locked in its own forum for those who wish to read it....but restructure the guild for a new world...a whole new world....with you.

We could just lock that thread until we get our people back and start a different one all together. I dunno.

I like the idea of retiring the WoT aspect and going with a new idea. Now we just have to decide on WHAT to do.
If possible, I'd be more interested in a sci-fi setting rather than a fantasy so I don't start mixing my novel with other random tangents. But that's me.
Any idea or suggestions?

Well, I'm a bit into the steampunk thing right now and i haven't seen a lot of good Steam Punk rps.
If we want to do something less original, we could do a star wars or some other world rp. Can only think of the one of the top of my head.
I think the important thing to establish would be an over-arching threat that would bind strangers together.

Mer. Star Wars. Did that a LONG time ago. No desire to go back. lol
There is the oddly built Farscape universe.. Which would provide a lot of different avenues for character builds, worlds, situations, etc. It's a possibility. There's also Stargate.. but I honestly think that series is a dying breed.
Other alternatives, there's always vampires/werewolves. Part of me declares that's just as bad as Star Wars (and throw Star Trek into that heap as well). I did read a couple books by Jeff Somers.. who has built a rather interesting futuristic world.. It's fun to think about, as well.
Starcraft has always been a rather open ended world with lots of possibilities, Hellgate London could have a story or two, and I can't even begin to talk about various sci-fi styled movies that have been out in recent years (not counting the major comic book whatnots like Iron Man, Hulk, Batman, etc).
But, ultimately, I have to ask.. what is Steam Punk?

Short Version - the world doesn't evolve beyond steam power but has all sorts of working stuff as modern day (flying machines, guns, and stuff.) It can also be mixed with magic. The golden compass is steam punkish, as is the anime steamboy.
Long version from wikipedia...you can really justy google it and find out razz
Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles, analog computers, or digital mechanical computers (such as Charles Babbage's Analytical engine); these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or with a presumption of functionality.
Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other). Apart from time period and level of technological development, the main difference between cyberpunk and steampunk is that steampunk settings usually tend to be less obviously dystopian than cyberpunk, or lack dystopian elements entirely.
Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk.

That does sound somewhat interesting.
So.. what's Selene's take on all of this?

Selene is unsure. I like the concept of steampunk but I am not an engineer or wizkid with the building and conceptulyzing of the technological mechanical aspect of the world. In short, Selene is useless under the hood of a car or in the inner guts of a computer. It's pathetic but there you go, my brothers got all the fixing and building knowledge while I got the knowledge and drive for ancient worlds.
