Hmm, well, let's see... [I'm acting under the assumption that you're talking about "whats a good Christmas gift for anyone/some-random-person-I-don't-know", not what's a good X-Mas gift to get me, lmfao]
Powdy Penguin slippers are definitely a great gift; I hang around the Exchange enough to know that they're a really big hit. Plus, they're bond to increase in value relatively quickly, so you're not only getting somebody Powdy slippers but you're giving them a good investment item too wink They're only like 55k in the MP, though. Maybe Powdy Penguin slippers + Angelic Earmuffs?

Okay, first of all, you totally want to avoid really thick &/or really even & straight bangs. You want wispy, long, kind of layered bangs, probably. Also -- & I'm assuming your hair is medium length, just because -- you want some semi-subtle layers, especially around your face to minimize volume. Side bangs -- meaning bangs that basically just fall on one side of your forehead -- are also a good option, but are REALLY annoying to style & the upkeep makes it kind of not worth it.
Of course, your best bet is to go to the best hairdresser you can afford & tell them as much as you can about the kind of hairstyle you want & about what they think would suit your face & all that. But I'm pretty certain that the main things you want to aim for are layers, non-traditional bangs, cuts that are either super short or shoulder length-ish at least [chin-length cuts are NOT good for round faces]. Also, adding volume, particularly mild curls, towards the bottom of your hair [if it's at least shoulder length] are always good.
Don't take any of that as gospel, though, even though I know more about this sort of s**t than any human being should.
I used to be the editor for the fashion & beauty section of a pretty big online magazine, as un-me-ish as that may sound, lmfao. It was totally the best job I ever had though, so in order to keep it I ended up teaching myself tons about fashion & beauty & all that. Plus I lived with a hairdresser for a few months xD
