Give up easily? Fai? Now who would ever believe that? The mage smiled smoothly while glancing to Rune's hard efforts, before his eye slid back to Kurogane. My my, the ninja was distracted? This opportunity couldn't be missed! Gloved paw was already molding another snowball when Kurogane finally looked back to the other. A soft smile was sent his way, conveying his innocence as he looked the ninja in his blood red eyes. The act was, in and of its self, rare. Especially after the mage was gifted with his eyepatch. But...such habits were hard to keep up for the social individual. Though Fai said he would try...
A flash of movement caught the corner of his sight, and Fai was wakened from his reverie. Rune-chan? The pale kitsu blinked as he faced the female, just visible behind her fort. Wher did she get that pipe? And...what was she doing? Then, like a feather descending into sight, he saw the snowballs fall in line of the staff, aimed clear for them. He had not expected such, such...what? It certainly was a surprise from Rune, what ever it was. Everything happened so fast, the mage had no time to analyze his thoughts. The snowball was just beofre his face before...slice. Blue eye that had squinted shut now widened as he caught what happened. Instinct took hold and his paw had reacted, one claw extending like a sharp needle to pierce the flying sneak attack. Fai's shock slipped from his face just as fast as it had appeared, his wrist dropping to led the snowball slide from his grasp. "My bad." He smiled his generic smile while rubbing his flaxen hair sheepishly.
(silly Trel. And thank you. ^__^)

Kurogane paused as he looked back into the mage's eye. It was indeed rare for him to smile at him like that, and the ninja knew better than to take it as mere innocence as the mage was obviously trying to do. The ninja scoffed, getting his muscles read to push himself into motion before he too caught something in the corner or his eye.
He stopped dead in his tracks as he felt the snowball connect with his shoulder. Blinking a few times her turned his attention back to Rune, his look of surprise quickly curling into an amused smirk. He had certainly not taken into consideration that Rune may join in their 'fun and games.' He chuckled and squatted down to scoop up another handful of snow, preparing to add Rune to his list of 'targets,' before he happened to catch sight of the mage.
He paused, frowning at the vampire claws that were now at the end of his paw. He continued with his work of making a snowball, but muttered so that the mage could hear him.
" Are you hungry, or was that just instinct setting in?" When was the last time the mage had fed? Kurogane couldn't quite remember and that bothered him a little.

"oh!" The audible gasp was forced out of the White SeeD before she could think even to her training. Rune had never seen or heard of any kitsusagi doing what Fai had just done... much less guessed it of Fai himself. Their surprise and even Kurogane's momentarily amused smirk playing second fiddle to this unexpected revelation. She had been trained to be prepared for anything... but as she was no longer protecting Ellone and was in fact only on a fighting edge in regards to the 'regulations' of a snowball fight Rune was completely caught off guard.
Pale green eyes blinked. 'Oops?' This was just an 'oops' to Fai? Why should she be surprised? She thought she heard the faint rustle of the ninja muttering something to him that she could not hear. Curious... but she would not pry of her friends.
Her stun had thrown her into a battle stance at some point -as natural as breathing with her staff in paw- a testament to her training but perhaps not the most advantageous in a snowball fight.
((*pokes Rune for not being more cooperative sooner*))

He must admit, it was a good point on Rune's half. Who would ever suspect such a sweet kitsusagi to pull off such stealthy attacks. Fai had even forgotten her mentions of being a fighter, never really thinking he'd have to see such skills. Not in this world. It was much too peaceful to keep wary for too long, even if loosing such awareness wasn't wise to begin with.
Ears flopped down and Fai directed a pout to the ninja. That's right, when was the last time he fed? The affected paw shook as if trying to dry from water, his claws shortening back to normal length with ease. Blue eye blinked to his furry paw, before the slight male winced upon hearing Rune's reaction. Fai turned a crooked smile to the female, none too surprised to see her startled. He hadn't meant for such a reaction, it just pulsed out of him. Even for something as plain as a snowball though? He'd have to better train himself. Paws waved in a sign of peaceful defeat. "Hyuu hyuu, it's still me Rune-chan. Do we have to stop playing now?" The adult slouched like a sad kitten, giving an apologetic smile. One paw reached up to scrub the back of his messy hair, Fai leaning towards Kurogane. "Ne, I was an idiot again." ^__^;

Kurogane frowned at the mage harder as he watched him wave away his claws. As he spoke to Rune, trying to calm any fears she may have, he huffed in aggitation. The mage was getting forgetful again, not only that but so was he. Why hadn't he paid closer attention to the mage's feedings. He was getting careless in this peaceful world.
He eyed the mage as he leaned toward him, arching a brow in question. He sighed and replied quietly," Aka, you forgot to feed." They didn't have to stop playing if the mage wasn't that bad, it would seem rude to cut off Rune like this without informing her. Kurogane's gaze flicked to Rune for a moment before returning to the mage. " Well, what do you want to do?"

The White SeeD blinked, then blushed with embarrassment, slipping out of her battle-stance and not quite able to meet her dear friend's eye. Nor did she exactly look away. She looked... sheepish for her reaction. "no. no. We can keep playing." Her following smile was a little too bright for her. She was more appalled at her reaction -so unfitting a fighter of her training & experience, not to mention unfitting their friendship!- than anything. Rune gave a small nervous laugh. "You merely surprised me, Fai. I didn't know kitu could do that and..." she looked even more sheepish. "I let the playfulness of the game catch me off-guard... were it another situation..." Now she was quite pink with embarrassment, now adding speaking so much to it. So... ducking down she made a pair of snowballs and in a smooth motion swung them at the close pair.
They could keep this up. Later... later there would be time for any explanations that might be forthcoming. If her friends wanted to tell her. She for one did not care outside of her curiosity. Whatever explanation there was, it would not change how she cared for them.
Now... now was the time to loose themselves in childish fun for a few hours at least.
