Another sigh of a hyuu was heard from inside the mountain HQ, within the small room they had discovered. With winter now settled on the lands, the kitsusagi had settled indoors as well. With the building so packed, the two travelers had decided on a more comfortable setting and had drifted down to an empty room. In all, it was much more cozy and homey than the main room.
Even so, the mage rested on the window sill, chin set close to the cool glass. Blue tails swished almost in an antsy manner, though his form was still and sedate. Fai's single blue eye remained half lidded and focused beyond the glass and to the white landscape. How long had it been, since he'd last seen snow? And he could only chuckle, finding the comparison comical. At least this realm had trees to bare, and the level of snow was of no real danger. But cold was still cold, and thus why the mage was cooped indoors with the ninja. Ears pinned back lazily, pondering what the other was even doing anyways..

The dark ninja merely glared at the mage for a moment upon hearing him sigh. If he was so bored why didn't he go find something to do? The ninja's attention didn't stay for long, however, for it was soon turned back to the large sized magazine on the floor in front of him.
The magazine was the type of magazine he had been slowly gathering from other worlds, but since the pork bun was no where in sight, he had been unable to root through his stash. Thankfully he had found one similar in this world and was now reading through it. Even though turning pages was a bit hard, being able to actually read what was going on in the panels was far more rewarding to the ninja to make him complain about his paws.
He was glad he had found the magazine, for the weather didn't leave much else for the pair to do but stay indoors, especially considering their thin attire that was made for fighting, not snow. So he kept to his magazines, and tried his best to ignore the mage's loud sighs of boredom.

Snow. She had always enjoyed the soft white cold for its purity and beauty. Sometimes she wondered if that might mean her parents had been of the Trabia area. But then she did not care for the ice quite so much, at least the way it built up at the front of their ship to where the White SeeDs had to scrape it off to sail through the waters. Icicles did look lovely hanging from the eaves, though they were terrible on the gutters.
Rune gave a small smile at her thoughts while flying through the chill winds over a landscape of white. No more the light but comfortable poncho only, she had dressed fully in a warmer poncho of similar style over a full winter fitted coat beneath. A simple black bag was hung over her head and shoulders over the coat but beneath her poncho.
She landed lightly on the porch of the cabin and shook out her wings before brushing show off of the rest of her. Satisfied she would not be trekking in too much snow the White SeeD -looking more the part than normal in her white coats- entered Mountain Headquarters. Intentionally the shy femme skirted the main room and any occupants within only taking tally on a subconscious level from a lifetime of training. She passed the kitchen and a host of other rooms before reaching the one she sought. Flicking her ears Rune pulled them from the holes in her hood and let the hood fall to her shoulders revealing her strawberry-blonde chignon beneath then knocked politely upon the door. Her voice clear & soft followed a moment after so they did not have to guess who it was. "Kurogane? Fai?" There was the sound of hoping she was not disturbing them in her voice.

Strangely enough, something to do came to the mage. Besides, the fog from his breath on the window was already decorated with his paw art. Chibi Mokona's, along with Puppies and Kitties were scribbled across the glass and already fading from sight. Long ears perked up and Fai turned sharply to the door in quiet waiting. He knew that smell. And not a second later, a light knock sounded on the door followed by Rune's voice.
"Hyuu!" A flash of black mixed with almost white bounced from the windowsill across the room. They had company! Fai grinned widely as he leapt over Kurogane in his trail to the door. The quiet room was finally alive with the rustle of feathers and soft footfalls from the mage. Before opening the door, Fai skied to a stop and grinned slyly back to Kurogane. "Ehh, Kuroruu! I didn't know you found one of those here! Might want to secure it in the meantime." Giggling could be heard before the pale kitsu flung open the door. Blue tails wiggled happily at the sight of the white clad female. "Rune-chan! How nice of you to visit." Fai blew some overlong strand of blond from his face, sidestepping and bowing for their kitsu friend's arrival. This was much better than staring out the window!

Kurogane glared at the mage before pushing himself up from the floor. A few huffs and mutters to himself and he grabbed his magazine comic, placing it on a counter before sitting quietly. He watched the mage open the door then smirked as he saw that it was Rune.
The smirk was a happy one, mainly because he enjoyed Rune's company and the fact that she was a wonderful distraction for the mage. She wasn't nearly as annoying as the mage either, another plus. Another huff escaped the ninja as he pushed himself up the floor, making his way toward their kitchened corner to start making some hot chocolate that he knew the mage would be demanding in a few moments. He didn't mind making it really, but it was when the mage tried to get him to have some himself when he got upset. He shuddered at the thought of drinking the stuff. Bleh =____=

Strawberry tipped tails swished the bottom of her coat as she smiled and dipped her head in response to the mage's excitement & bow. "It's good to see you both again. I was concerned you might be asleep." Rune said stepping in and smiling back at Kurogane for his happy smirk, warmed inside that he might care. "The cold weather seems to make many want to sleep more. Even among my 'family'." Which was saying something, for year round the house in Bass'ken Woods was kept quite cold.

Fai smiled widely to the visitor as he shut the door behind them. Quick and polite, he bounced to Rune's side, silently offering to take her soft parka to hang on the hook. It was fairly warm inside, and if anything a simple coat would do anyone just fine. "It's such a sweet surprise to see you again too. And here we were afraid winter was going to leave everyone too busy for visits. Right Kurorin?" The male titled his head back to the ninja, an appreciative smile knowing that the other was already working on beverages. As much as he'd enjoy bragging about such an action, he also knew it was rare enough not to insult with his mockings.
"Eh?" Sky blue eye blinked at Rune, one paw moving to his chin in awed wonder. "Oh yes! That 'hybernation' symptom?" Fai rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "I've had bouts of those too. Thankfully Kuro is around each time." Who knows what would happen with a comatose, vampire mage standing around otherwise. But with Kuro-puppy around, there was no worries!

" A few concussions probably would have resulted if I weren't around. Although, hitting his head wouldn't make much of a difference I think." The latter part was muttered, an aloud musing to himself as he watched the water boil. This "hibernation" hadn't effected the ninja much at all, rarely getting sleepy at odds times like the mage unless he was kept up all night trying to lug the idiot back home with him passed out on his back. Though staring at it for hours did get him into that bored, sleepy sort of mood.
The ninja's tails flicked in agitation at the thought as he moved to grab two cups to pour their drinks into. " Its not like we know very many people mage," he answered to Fai's earlier comment. Well HE didn't know too many people at least, apparently the mage knew a few.

She smiled as she padded gracefully into the room, letting Fai take her poncho with a small giggle. "Then I am very glad you were here to keep Fai from such injuries, Kurogane." Pale green eyes twinkled between mage and ninja, and Rune felt warmed inside from Kurogane's smirk as she read it to mean he cared. That... and she always enjoyed the two males' interactions.
"Yes, hibernation. It takes me too, I fear, but mostly because I wake at dawn & it's later now." All at once she was shy all over again, looking at her black gloved paws modestly. "I doubt I could ever be 'too busy' to visit you two, Fai."

Paws rubbed against the cloth softness as Fai hung the poncho gently. Ears teetered and the mage turned towards the others, not hearing Kurogane's smart remarks. Or choosing to ignore them. "Heh, I'm sure it wouldn't have been that bad." He crossed the room calmly and took a seat on one of the wide set chairs that might as well have been couches. "Then again, I never really do remember falling asleep. One moment I'll be talking, and the next I'm out like a light."
Blinking kindly, Fai gestured to the furniture, open for Rune's use. No need to stand so tensely. Blue wings rested loosely at his sides, almost like a large feather blanket. "Oh, so it does effect others. Well, at least we'll all get more rest, nya?" Elbow was placed on the couch's headrest, the mage twisting and resting his chin to observe the black clad ninja. "Kurooooo. Make sure you get a cup too! Gotta stay warm." A cheesy smile before Fai peeked back over to Rune, blue eye shining surprised. Why did the friendly female sound so.....solemn about her statement then? Smile turned softer and flaxen hair shook. "Rune-chan is always welcome over. It does bring a nice change to things, eh?" At least for them, since they never indulged on Rune's own personal life.

The ninja grumbled about not wanting any stupid hot chocolate as he poured two cups worth. He had already started a pot of tea for himself anyway. He was glad that things were made easy to grab with his paws as he gingerly grabbed both cups and headed over to them. His red eyes narrowed slightly when he noticed the mage seemed cold, and with a flick of his wing, a blanket that had been placed on the top of the chair fell onto the mage as he walked past.
He made his way over to Rune, holding out her cup to her with a sigh. He felt like a damned waiter and was pretty sure the mage would make some comment about it sooner or later. Then he held out the mage's cup to him.
" Here..."

Rune chuckled very softly and settled herself with a smile upon one of the chair's Fai indicated, just nodding. "It's a wonderful change." So much a play on opposites and without the scores of 'family' to distract from enjoying it. And then... the White SeeD really did enjoy their company. They were both so wonderful in their own way.
"Thank you, Kurogane." She said with a smile as she accepted the cup of hot chocolate. Her smiles were slight different between the two. Not much... but slightly. Always honest, but with the mage it was more a smile to show he succeeded in brightening her day & she wished to share that in return while with the ninja... well it was different. The same feeling behind both, of caring friendship. Rune blew on the coco & sipped cautiously. "Delicious."
A soft sigh. "We still look... but there has been no sign of your Sakura & Sayoran. I'm sorry. Sometimes... worlds and realities do not line up the same here." Her delicate face frowned ever so slightly into her cup as Rune contemplated another sip or sat watching the curls of steam rise like dancers from the creamy brown liquid. "No one really understands how it works."

Eh? Fai had been too busy smiling to notice the folded material above him. Until it landed on his blonde locks, draping apart and covering most his form except for the saturated blues of his wings and tail tips. "Hee, it got warm fast!" Belts could be heard clinking as the mage shuffled about under the material, finally gripping its edges and pulling it over his eyes like a hoodie. Tails wagged as the mage waited for his own cup, paws outstretched and waiting. "Thank you Kurowaannn! Such nice manners in fornt of our guest." The male held the beverage close, showing that if Kurogane did smack him, the liquid would spill and make a mess. And of course with his innocent smile.
Rune's update was almost unexpected to the mage, simply because it was said so soon. The blanket shadowed his sober consideration of her words, muzzle blank and absorbing the steam of his drink. They too hadn't caught sight or smell of their younger comrades. Nor had Fai been able to sense Mokona's little aura or magic. Shoulders lifted in a small shrug. "No need to apologize Rune-chan. That's all we can do is keep our eyes open." He turned to the ninja quietly. It was like something to avoid speaking aloud, at least for himself. As if speaking the names of the children was a painful hope and only allowed Hitsuzen to further ignore their searchings. But the mage would keep smiling, like he promised twice over. "Ne, come sit with us Kuro."

Kurogane poured his cup of tea, ignoring the sugar bowl completely as he pulled away from the kitchen, walking over to the others. So neither Rune or anyone in her family had found the kids yet? It didn't surprise him really, since the mage and he had been searching as far and wide as they could. But it was still a bother to know that there seemed to be no way to find them here or even to move on and find them.
It wasn't Rune's fault that they couldn't find find the children, and he told her so with a soft gaze as he walked past.
The ninja's eyes met the mage's, a soft understanding crossing them as he moved to sit beside the mage, his paw out and ruffling the mage's blonde locks. He plopped down gently next to the mage, sipping at his tea, ignoring that it was still quite hot.
It wasn't any of their faults and mulling around blaming themselves wouldn't get them any where. " We're looking, and that's all we can do."

Oh dear. She had not intended to bring the mood down. What a foolish thing to do. Softly she smiled, light coming back to her eyes. "Yes of course." It would simply be easier if they knew whether or not the children ever would arrive.
Rune shifted, finding a more comfortable position and wrapping her tails comfortably around her. Smiling softly to herself she looked at the two, sitting beside each other, and let a light silence fall around them as they drank warm beverages. Rune liked comfortable silences, and with them somehow... she found them. Little things, spaced between Fai's cheerful energy. Which made them that much more to her.
