Lumi narrowed her eyes at Balin, he didn't know what he was talking about, belittling her like that! who did he think he was! despite the fact Lumi knew he was right.
"he would have been arlight on his own." she said, not even able to look at him now, "He's always telling me that, no matter how much i worry over him."
Lumi sighed as looked up at Balin, conflict and pain in her eyes
"If he suddenly dissapeared, after i'd gotten the chance to know and love him, I don't think i'd ever be able to get over that."
her voice became a bit stronger as she talked, and she raised her head in a royal maner, almost as if begging him to say something rude.
"I've seen what that can do to a female and i want no part of it. Both of us would be better off, you've come back for him now after all, haven't you?"

"He would have been alright, true, but now he won't be. Not after you acted like you did with the kissing and nuzzling and crap. You couldn't hurt him more if you headbutted him in the gut. And honestly, if you think Heret's the type to just disappear, then you obviously don't know my brother. Heret may be many things, but a deserter isn't one of them." Balin frowned, scraping at the dirt. "I've come back, yes, but that doesn't mean that he won't miss you. He has a hard enough time with being blind, much less abandoned."

Lumi narrowed her eyes, seething once more as she took a few menacing steps towards Balin.
"Don't you think i KNOW that?! Don't you think I've told my self that? Don't you think that i KNOW how wonderful Heret is, that's he'd never leave me? don't you think i KNOW THAT?"
She looked away from Balin, almost as if he were no longer worth her time; though her voice is much calmer now. "My father was just as good a Herla as Heret was, but he still dissapeared. and that fact alone scares me away from Heret."

"Why would Heret leave? Where else does he have to go?" Balin asked simply, his eyes hardening. "He can't go back home. And I can't either, at least not yet. What risk is there of him disappearing? You've already said you know he won't just leave." The herla shook his head, "If you let yourself be ruled by your past then you will never be able to survive the future."

((i have the strong urge to have Lumi just head but him with her antlers...))
Lumi lowered her eyes, she knew when she'd been defeated, there was no other argument that she could come up with. after having talked with him, she couldn't even remember where she had found the validity for her becoming so scared in the first place. Lumi couldn't help but chuckle darlky.
"You make me feel as if i've just been scolded by my mother."
She let out a shakey sigh as she began to think about how much she could have really hurt Heret. She raised her head and eyes once more to look at Balin, depseration written all over them as a few tears began to form at the corner.
"You... you don't think he'll know? do you? I think i would die if he knew what i was planning on doing..."

(That'd be funny. xD Course, he'd probably dodge. Balin's used to combat and hunting and is pretty tough in a fight.)
"I sure won't tell him, and I don't think he'll even think of it. Heret's generally a trusting person. Well... He was, I don't know if he still is...." Balin sighed, shuffling. "We should get back to him, he probably thinks you got lost or something."

Lumi smiled thankfully to Balin, she felt as if a weight had been lifted off of her soulders when she heard Balin reassure her like that. She nodded happily at the thought of going back to Heret, she really did want to be with him.
"ok, let's go."

The herla smiled, glad that he had finally changed her mind. "Well then, lead the way. And you never told me your name, miss." That was something he should probably learn..,

"Lumina, It's nice to meet you." she said cheerilly, her whole body seemd to give off a lighter mood.she stepped out of the freezing water, and flighted her tail a few times like a horse, attempting to get the excess water out of it. She looked around for where she'd come from and quickly found the path. She smiled excitedly and there was even a little 'pep in her step' as she made her way back to Heret, her hair and scarf flowing sligtly.

Balin chuckled as he watched Lumina head back to Heret. The herla followed behind her at a much slower pace, his footsteps soft. He didn't really know how he was going to admit to Heret that he hadn't been able to kill the b*****d who had stolen his brother's sight from him. Well... Heret would have to understand.
Heret shifted nervously, on the verge of pacing as Lumi did not return quickly. Had something happened to her? Just as he had made up his mind to go and find her, his sharp ears picked up the sounds of not one, but two approuching. Was it Lumi and another? Or just strangers?

Lumi squealed happily and bounded up to Heret giggling like a love struck fawn. orginally she'd just planned to bounce into him... unfortunately, she REALLY ended up running into and falling over Heret.
"Heret look at who- GAH!"

Heret blinked then jumped as he was run into, nearly toppling over himself. He chuckled, bending his head to nuzzle Lumi's neck. "You're being silly, Lumi." The herla teased before nipping her lightly, "Now who-?"
"Hey, Heret. How've you been?" Balin asked softly, coming to stop a few feet away from his younger brother. The other herla's mouth had dropped, his ears twisted towards Balin. "B-Balin?" Heret stuttered, getting a chuckle from Balin.

Lumi smiled embarrassadly as she got up slowly, her thigh that she'd fallen on was slightly sore, but she didn't let on, after all, she was supposed to take care of Heret, not the other way around. she the smile of embarrassment stayed on her face, but for a different reason now. she'd wished Heret hadn't just nuzzled or nipped at her in front of his brother... not that Heret had know. Fortunately, this moment wasn't about her, it was about Heret's reunion with his brother.

Heret stepped away from Lumi, instead darting over to nuzzle his brother in welcome, his face lighting up with joy. "I missed you, Balin! Are you okay? When'd you get back? How's things at home?" He asked in a rush, before quickly adding, "You've already met Lumi, right? Isn't she sweet?" The herla had gone from worrying to practically prancing about with joy the instant he knew which pair was infront of him.
"I'm fine, Heret. And I made it to the Glen a few days ago, but I had to find you." Balin answered as soon as he could, giving his brother a playful nudge. He was glad that Heret couldn't see the fresh scars that stood out against his silver fur. "Home.... is much the same. And yes, I've met Lumi. We talked for just a bit before heading back."

Lumi continued to smile as she watched Heret behaving so excitedly, it was cute, it was sweet, it was making Lumi feel uncomfortable. This type of situation was awkward for Lumi, families, reunions, made her uneasy. If she wasn't so sure that Balin would hunt her down if she decided to bolt, she would have tried to slip away. Instead she just tried to act like everything was fine and that she was happy to be there.
