Aiya jumped down from the roof as well, landing on all fours, then winced, getting up and massaging one of her wrists. Agh... I can't do that anymore. I'm too out of shape. She rejoined the others, brushing her long brown hair back and feeling happier than she had for the last couple of years.

She watched as the other landed, noting the way she now held her wrist. "..You know.. one shouldn't always do things they haven't practiced in awhile.." she chuckled then continued. "I learned this about a month ago trying to lift my sword... I nearly broke my back.. but now I have it down again, it seems lighter than before." she said, reaching her hand behind her to pat the sword which hung wrapped in shredded cloth and bandages.
'Mother' Mia fluttered down to Shikyo's shoulder, nuzzeling her for a moment before her jade eyes turned to the emotionless stare that was also Shikyo's.
~~~~~~~
Raziel pulled back the chair within the rather large dining hall, the bottom scraping along the hard stone floor. His visible black eye was narrowed as always. Taking a seat his eyes closed as he murmered something, Kaze appearing in a swirl of black flames. '...yes father..' something was unheard, though Kaze nodded her head before disappearing once more.
The sound of wings could be heard behind Amara wherever she may be, the sudden appearance of Kaze taking shape three feet to her right. 'Father says dinner is almost ready and he expects you.' her eyes were narrowed but held mock amusement. 'You know he doesn't like to be kept waiting, so you might wish to scurry along.' with this she was gone once more into the black abyss of which were the hallways.
"Wow." Aiya eyed the huge sword on Shikyo's back with respect. "I sure as hell wouldn't be able to lift that sword, let alone swing it. I'll stick to my shuriken." She slapped her hand to her forehead, suddenly remembering. The reason she come out here in the first place! That job interview! Oh well. Too late now, she noted, glancing at the position of the sun. "It's getting rather cold out here... let's go back to my place and catch up on things."
~~~
"All right, all right," grumbled Amara, thrusting a chopstick through her hair. "I'm ready." The demon, despite any scorn she had for weakness in others, secretly took pleasure in looking nice, and tonight was a special occasion. She stepped into one of the dark hallways and almost instantly stepped out into the dining room. "Sorry to keep you waiting," she said sweetly.

Shiro watched as Aiya landed awkwardly on the ground and then at Shikyo with her sword. He couldn't help but have a touch of envy for such power that he could never hope to have.
"You should not dwell on such things," Hotaru projected to him mentally, "I like you just the way you are." She gracefully glided down to his shoulder and chirped as she nuzzled his cheek with her beak.
He smiled slightly and replied, "Thank you..."
"Yes, it is getting cold, isn't it?" he said and imagined remembered the magic in Aiya's apartment that made it eternally warm. He'd been outside all morning, and even though he preferred winter more than any other season, he wasn't all that happy about being in the cold for more than an hour or two. This was mainly because the more bonded he and Hotaru were, the more their feelings had an affect on each other. Therefore, Hotaru, being a fire bird, wasn't built to last in cold temperatures. It therefore had an affect on him, but he didn't mind so much.
"Uhm..." he said and he all of a sudden got very quiet, "Have you two heard anything about Raziel and the others? All I got back on Akiko was a few rumors that didn't exactly make sense. Do you know about anything that's happened with them?"

She listened as the other two conversed with her and each other, though chuckled as Aiya commented on choice of weapons.
Hearing her brothers name made her twitch, her eyes narrowed more so for a split second, then focused again. "...yes.. actually I have.. I had an encounter with him while we were sperated.." she glanced up for a moment then to the others. "..let us save this till we are secluded.." she glanced to Aiya for this interval. "Perhaps at your place as you have offered.."
~~~~~~~
Within the large dining room sat Raziel, though upon seeing the demon enter he stood, sweeping over to the opposite end and pulled out her chair. He might have been bent on world destruction and rule of a new, but he still had few pleasentries up his sleeve. "..You look nice tonight.." his voice was quiet as ever, awaiting her to sit.
Ryan hit the street and turned left straight out of the inn. There were two people at the very entrance to the village who looked lost, obviously strangers like himself. He made a personal note of who they were, he knew from experience that travellers tended not to care about starting fights, he would stay clear of them as much of possible.
On the other hand nobody would miss a stranger, and they are always good for information and gossip. He thought to himself as he quickly turned out of sight. If it came to it he would do everything necessary to bring down the poachers. For now, he would keep out of sight and listen in on conversations. He needed to get off of the white snow in that case, his black clothing would stick out.
As the wind shifted, Matthew caught the scent of another Lycanthrope; a feline specifically. Flipping his cloak around and inside-out in one fluid motion, he seemed to disappear in the snowstorm, the white hood and cape rendering him invisible.
Dropping down silently, he leaped back into the cover of an alleyway some fifteen feet back, watching the newcomer from afar, his hand held tightly around the hilt of his longsword.
"Oh, of course... please, follow me." Aiya bowed from the waist and set off briskly into the street, Shreya bobbing behind her.
"I haven't heard anything, but I assume they're not on Etsuko, since if they were then Amara would be hunting me down," she called back from the depths of her layers of coats, which she huddled inside cursing the cold as they trudged on.
~~~
"Thank you, I try," Amara said smoothly, taking the proffered seat and smiling up at him. "You're quite the gentleman tonight... What's the special occasion?"

Shikyo set off behind Aiya, keeping in pace with her and was almost beside her; Mia fluttering next to Shreya in silence.
"...Wonder where our siblings could have wandered off too... No doubt Raziel has them hidden somewhere... I know of at least seven of his old residents, though I took the opprotunity away from Estuko to check them.. all were vacant, though one had been used within the last month.. But perhaps only from a day the way things were still left dusty, only fresh steps with thin layers of dust were clues... But I will say, it appears only to be the two of them.. Your sister and my brother that is.."
~~~~~~
His eyes met the figure of Amara once more, his voice unusually plesant. "I spoke earlier of giving you some information.. I intend to do so now." swirling his cup of red wine in his hand gently, a matching glass appeared before Amara. "First... some clearance on why I have yet to proceed after the pets again.." the twin katana of his sisters appeared above the center of the table, circling slowly. "My sister has the twin of Sin, Virtue.. they stand for the complete opposite of their names and so long as they are seperated, her with one and I with another, her and I match in equal strength.. So that makes her bird out of the question to snab.. we would have to avoid her to get the others first and with their power thus take them into our control. You may do with your sister as you see fit." his eyes shut in thought for a moment. "For now.. I want to send you out as a spy.. find their location then report back to me.. I ask of you to leave tomorrow.. No fights unless they chase.. Do not let them follow you back." at this point a necklace made of hellstone dropped before Amara to her left on the table. "That is a hexed stone... with my magic placed within it, they will not be able to track you or your pet." his voice was now almost placid, though it held amusement within it. "When you return we discuss matters further."
A door swung forward to their left as shadowed figures clothed in black rags, though made of silk and satin, moved in to either side of the table, resting platters of different foods: duck, turkey, steak, soups, potatos, vegetables and fruits. "..Eat well, enjoy the night. Tomorrow we begin our campaign. You are a key to it all.. what you see and report will decide our moves." with that he began to fill his plate in silence.
She stood still for a long while not sure how to answer the man yet before she even got the chance to try he disappeared into the swirling white snow. She sighed, she wasn't used to people just talking to her like that she hadn't had real human contact in a long while and she didn't know how to react to it. Ever since she had made her way out of the wilderness the humans never spoke to her, instead they gave her wary looks when she walked by staring at her strange appearance; her long grey-blue ears, her wolf tail that wouold occasionally wrap around her waist, the long spear she carried with her at all times and the gold that adorned her. She didn't wear much but she was positive that to human eyes it probably looked liked she had stolen it. So she was used to staring and being refused a room because supposedly there were no more vacancies. She never started a fight over it, never felt the need to, she just went on her way and usually found a nice little barn to sleep in for the night. She sighed once more, "Stupid human prejudices," she mumbled as she came closer to an inn nearby, she really needed a room for the night.
They finally reached Aiya's apartment complex. Aiya led them indoors and up four flights of stairs, to her room at the end of the hall. It was deserted, thankfully, for the sight of three phoenixes would have caused quite a bit of excitement among her neighbors, and not exactly for good reasons. Aiya bent down and examined the hole in the door, scowling. That wasn't smart, Shreya. If people find out that you're here...
I'm not a baby anymore, Ai. I can take care of myself.
Uh huh. Sighing, Aiya unlocked the door and gestured the others inside, then closed the door and put a magical patch over the hole so that the door at least appeared normal. "Welcome... it hasn't changed much, these past few years, but I've improved on the temperature regulation spell, at least." She shed her layers of coats and scarves with some relief.
~~~
"Very well. I will leave immediately." Amara decided that it would be better to spend the dinner in silence, and proceeded to pile her plate high. To Maeve, who had heard all of the assignment via her connection to Amara's mind, Amara said, What do you think?
I think it's a waste of time. Aiya probably went back to Rakhin[the demon world]. Why would she stay on Etsuko? She knows we're looking for her and the others.
I've known her longer than you have, Maeve. Rakhin would be the last place she would go... besides, Liran would have informed me if she had.
Maeve sighed. So it's to Etsuko, then?
Correct. Enjoy the rest of your night here.

(( x.X Sorry I haven't posted in so long... Evil research paper! >.<# Evil history portfolio! They're EBIL! ))
Shiro followed in silence, glancing upward every so often to make sure that Hotaru was flying directly above him. He looked back down at the snow and remembered how Aiya and placed a spell on her apartment's interior. He had spent countless hours back at his home on Akiko unsucceessfully trying to devise a temperature-control spell of his own. Last New Year's, he had almost successfully set his house on fire. That was one of the many times Hotaru found his stupid actions "amusing."
"Yes, I remember that," she said and snickered.
"Oh, shut up..." he replied and stared up at the four flights of stairs. "Oh, no..." he said and sighed. Hotaru fluttered up them effortlessly and he began the journey upward.
He arrived several minutes later out of breath and narrowed his eyes at Hotaru whilst she perched primly on the rail of the staircase. He could sense amusment that quickly disappeared again.
Shiro entered the apartment and removed his pointy brown hat and put it on a nearby table. Hotaru followed after him and perched on a chair. She was obviously happy to get out of the cold.
"It's just as I remember," he said and he and Hotaru yawned in unison.

She seemed to be unphased by the cold or the frigid walk up the stairs, her new black cloak was pulled up to her face, covering from the nose down, though her mask that was connected to her shirt already did this.
Mia fluttered into the appartment just as Shikyo herself stepped in behind Shiro, shutting the door quietly. Glancing around she unbuckled the thick leather strap that bound her sword to her back, taking the large weapon and leaning it beside the door. Quietly moving her hands to her neck she unwrapped the added in scarf, an extention to the collar of the cloak, and finally slipping it from her frail shoulders, she revealed how small she truely was. Though quite tall for a woman, she was nothing but skin and bone, her muscles visible beneath tight skin. She wore a sleeveless turtleneck, the mask pulled up from beneath the turtleneck and placed up and over her mouth and nose. Sighing quietly she placed her gloved hands up and pulled the mask down to rest around her neck, revealing two lip piercings on blood red lips. "Nice place Aiya.. it has a home-y feeling to it... If that would be the word for it." she quietly looked about the apartment, something she was quite unuse to. "Forgive me, I haven't stayed in many .. livable areas.. It's nice to be in the presence of a friend." she turned to smile lightly to the others, her jade eyes sparkling just slightly.
Mia had found herself a perch elsewhere in the house, watching the others.
~~~~~
Raziel watched as Amara finished eating in silence, he thought to speak up at that moment. ".. If something is bothering you with anything I assign, don't sit there quietly. Speak up. I'm not as inhumane as I act. There is a bit of civilized and humane emotion left within this damned soul." his voice was quiet, yet it truly was curious as to why she remained silent. At times silence bothered him, he had been placed in it for years uncounted.
Upon the tall chair behind him, Kaze perched eyeing the two beings in the hall and wondering where Maeve had owndered off to.
"Please, sit down," Aiya told them, while scanning the wards. Nobody had been in here since she'd left. But she could never be too careful...
"I'm afraid I didn't have much of a chance to make this place liveable for people other than myself," she added with a wry grin. "But as long as you two are here on Etsuko, my home is your home."
~~
"I'm sorry, my lord... I was just thinking to myself," Amara said, flushing. "Maeve doesn't want to go. But she will go," won't you, Maeve? she asked sweetly.
Before I go, I want to know where we're headed to. I'm not going to go on a wild goose chase. Tell Liran to find her first.
Fine. "My lord, I'd like you to meet my servant, Liran... a present from my home." She snapped her fingers, and immediately an imp appeared on her palm, tiny at only four inches tall.
What is it my lady wishes? The imp asked, bowing low and kissing the palm of her hand.
Amara shook her hand with disgust, dislodging the imp onto the table. "I take it you know my sister's magical signature?"
Of course. You wish me to find her?
"Naturally."
But my lady, you know as well as I do that if she's put wards up, I won't be able to reach her.
"Exactly. But the wards will have traces of that same signature as well, won't they?"
Very well. As my lady wishes. The imp vanished.
Moving to a chair within the room she sat down gently, looking around once more as her eyes traced the prescence of the wards. "I'm alway intrigued by magic... I only practice with the darker elements.. Chaos and Destruction being my field of choice.." she spoke in a half whisper as always.
To Aiya's last comment, she bowed her head lightly. "Thank you.."
~~~~~
"It's fine." He watched as the imp appeared and the conversation passed between the two.
"If it's possible to still keep in contact with the imp, tell him to search out another energy as well .. You sister is more than likely in contact with Shikyo... Search out a truely damned presence.. one that smells of blood like no other. That is how you will find them.." his thoughts spilled into his concious again, his lips slowly forming more words. "...try the town in which we took the pheonixs from..."
