Tessa laughed lightly, drawing her blade and holding the pommel to Jack's throat, arm bent around him. She brought her head down to his ear and smiled.
"I'd rather not have to take any tests, but I promise you Seriel is no stranger to my hand, nor my hand to battle. As for the rear ride, well to put it simply I'm not navigating, now am I? That should be fairly simple to accommodate. Now..."
She stood, drawing her weapon around back to its sheath and stepping back. Her smile seemed less forced though, and slightly more playful.
"How do you know we were being watched?"

Tessa looked behind her for a brief moment, but she knew insistence when she saw it, and she altogether jumped up from the camel's backside and crashed into Jack, despite her mild efforts at refraining from such a collision. Her face flushed slightly as she shifted back and braced for sudden movement.
"Glad you're navigating," she mused, "Let's go then."

"Don't get too ahead of yourself," Tessa laughed, "but you might be surprised what a Moon Elf - or even half-Moon Elf - will see in their sleep."
Still her eyes widened slightly in recollection, an exact phrasing striking her memory with a perfect resonance, and she could not simply dismiss it.
"'The hearts of men'? I've heard that before, recently in fact. What exactly is going on here, Jack?"
For a moment, she felt her cheek and bit her lip. She had trouble believing herself, for a change. Her bluff the day before had worked, but now suddenly she wondered if it was even a bluff anymore, and on top of that wondered how she could think such a thing.

Tessa bit her lip, debating for several moments whether her initial trust had been placed wrongly, and she had little enough choice as it was.
"Don't tell me I've fallen for a trap," she giggled, "those get almost as old as the people who make them. Still, again I find myself asking; what do you know?"
It was beginning to be tiresome, having to ask the same question repeatedly but she was neither on her own grounds nor entirely sure of herself at this point, particularly from either one of Jack's explanations.
"And when are you going to be fully honest with me, while I'm at it?"

"I might have to postpone on that," she replied while kicking the empty flask up and catching it in a hand before running her hand over the opening and taking a sip, "besides, I prefer water, being half-Elven and all. I don't usually enjoy putting my sensibility at risk."
She recapped the flask and smiled at him, knowing full well that in fact several droplets had intermingled with the summoned water, all but nullifying her point in an indirect sense.
"Besides, I'm rather debating whether you know what love even is, between piracy and vampirism."

Tessa shrugged, again leaning back on a hand - which was slowly forming into a habit of hers - and smiling.
"Oh, you fail to understand that, don't you?" she giggled, "I didn't become remotely reputable as the 'Wisdom of the Slaughter' by not asking questions and testing them firsthand, but I doubt you've heard of the Sisterhood either so I guess that isn't very valid either."
She looked down to her shoulder and put a hand over it, removing it to reveal a quickly-melting layer of ice over it. She turned back to face Jack and gave a halfhearted shrug.
"Let's make it simple and indirect; you're a new figure, I wonder more often than not."

Tessa drew Seriel and held it over Jack's shoulder, as if only to show it to him rather than anything threatening, which in itself struck her as ironic.
"I didn't come across the Sisterhood by accident, but this I certainly did. I was out in the fields of southern Tessalona when just this chill wind came over me, almost as if it were calling my name. I find the source, and there's Seriel, but a voice came to me when I reached for it, said I would become greater than myself for the discovery."
She replaced the weapon in its sheath, easing back to avoid any pains from the constant vertical movement. Looking up to the starlit sky she smiled warmly.
"It led me to the Sunshadow Grove, where I met three others with remarkably similar weaponry. After a long time getting to know each other, learning of each other's talents that presumably attracted the blades, we decided to make it something bigger than any one of us, so we banded together as the Sisterhood of Slaughter. From there, we took travel from town to town, catching word of this and that, accommodating to whatever needs we saw as necessary to aid in. The life of an adventurer, you could say."
