“I know that, but still I worry.” She looked at Farle and stuck out her tongue. “It’s a mother’s prerogative to worry you know.” She nearly laughed at the look on Farle’s face. “Now James you can come back and visit any time honey. I know the world is a big place but don’t forget to come back and visit. It doesn’t have to be all the time, but it would be nice to know that you’re safe and how you’re doing from time to time.”

Females were incompressible James thought and his mother was no exception. Earlier she had worried sick and upset over his leaving and now it felt like she was kicking him out of the den. “I know mom. I promise I’ll come back from time to time and I won’t talk to dangerous strangers.” He watched his father’s shocked reaction and laughed. It seemed that his mother had surprised his dad. That didn’t happen to often. Still given the amount of energy his mother had earlier before he had really decided on leaving James wasn’t too shocked. He figured it was time to go if he was going to leave.
