Akio turned his gaze upon Mirai, a curious and almost surprised look was written over his face. Pondering if he had said something wrong.
"Yes, human literature. I haven't read any of it."
Shortly after, Mirai gave a second question, one which answered his doubts so far regarding Mirai's reaction.
"Oh, no I'm not."
Akio grinned with debonair flair, a thumb pointing towards himself as he proudly announced.
"I'm a Kitsune, pretty neat huh?"
Of course, this could be hard to believe since.. well he had no fox ears... or tail.
"I often visit the human world to meet up with old friends but I'm lost within so many activities that I never give myself the time to peek at it."

Mirai glanced over at Akio as he announced being a kitsune. She looked him over for a moment before simply saying "Huh..." and then looking forward at the line again. "Well I'm going to be here a little while so knock yourself out with the human literature. Stay away from Fifty Shades of Red though... I've heard that that one is quite bad."

"huh? is that it? my you're the most hard to amaze human I've ever met."
Usually Akio impressed people with only that line so having Mirai react in such a... non awe manner made him out at her.
"ouch..."
With his pride hurt but only for a bit, he would look at the vast amount of books. He wondered why all of them have different covers, none of them pertained to a specific tag. Which was curious for him. Usually phylosophic literature had blue covers, politics black, war records red, green or purple depending on the era. Novels were orange and both romance and poems had white covers. It was curious that human literature didn't follow this procedure at all, rather had a wide variety of covers, some even had pictures on it.
"Splendid!"
He found hilarious how easily he could get lost within the library given his costumes and human literature didn't match most of the time. Leading him to end up on the love novels section without even realizing.
It was then when he heard Mirai's warning.
"Shades of red? I didn't knew they held deep studies of colors. Perhaps the author didn't had good sources. I supose the shades of other colors had better research"

"Well I'm not human either soo..." Mirai muttered before he ran off to look at the books.
After about 45 minutes, Mirai made it to the front. She bought the book she wanted and had it signed by the author who was also sitting at the table. Mirai smiled slightly at the author and took the book "Thank you!" she replied before walking out of line with the autographed book.
She continued smiling to herself as she walked down one of the aisles of books. Texas was always fond of a specific series of romance novels. Mirai had done some research and found that there was a book signing by the author today. One of her newest books had just been released too so it was a perfect gift for their anniversary.
Now she wanted to find a book for herself. She hadn't had a fun book to read in a while.

Mirai would soon have company, since Akio found her, yet he had this whole look of confusion on his face, as if something troubled. And probably Mirai knew why. The flustered cheeks and ears were a sign of it.

Mirai continued flipping through a book she found before seeing Akio coming over. His face said it all. She looked at the book again and put it back "Told you not to read it..." she told him, muffling a small laugh.

"the tittle says it's related to the various shades of the color red, but the content its nothing but smutty actions along with some aggressive foreplay before mating... and they don't even mate to breed... which is great I mean think of the poor offspring of those looneys."

Mirai continued reading the back of one of the other books she picked while Akio investigated the last one. It was a fiction fantasy piece. About a girl who wakes up one day seeing ghosts. Because of this, she is treated completely different by society and must find other supernaturals like her to help out with her struggles as well as against the group that is after her and others like her. It was interesting because Mirai was now currently reading the back of a classic book. One you would be forced to read in High School literature. She definitely had a wide mix of preferred genres.

Said Akio relieved, progressing on his lecture while Mirai kept going on. While he believed the plot was going a little too fast from his perspective it was way better than the last book he read so he didn't complained about it.
Sitting next to Mirai by a nearby table, he kept reading.lowering the fluster levels.

Mirai continued hunting for a book. She would pull one that seemed interesting off the shelf and read the summary of it that was either on the back or in the sleeve and maybe read a couple of pages. She did this for a while longer before coming back up to Akio then with several books in her hand. A copy of the one he was reading, the classic, and a graphic novel.
Mirai had secretly had an interest in graphic novels. The stories were unique in a sense due to the fact that they were depicted with imagery and words and not just words. It was its own art form and Mirai seemed to enjoy them. She had a large amount of graphic novels at home that rivaled Texas' romantic novel collection. She glanced at the book Akio was reading and recognized it "Don't spoil anything for me." she told him before heading back downstairs towards the checkout area.

Unlike Mirai, who had the ability to scout the books, Akio was a straight up reader going from page 1 to last one. Unless the plot itself didn't fit his needs. The story, while fast it was entertaining, enough to keep the kitsune occupied while Mirai easily collected a fair amount of books.
He didn't even realize she left him be while doing so, and only acknowledged her existence when she told him not to spoil anything.
"Why would I spoil it? Read it yourself"
He chuckled, while he loved gossip, reading and pictures was something he didn't like to spoil. Few constructive observations were ok but only at a limit of 1-3 max.
"Just make sure you don't read more of those color studying scams... unless you want to tell me you enjoy that kind of literature"
Akio said as he gave a quick look at Mirai.
"I mean... I won't judge you if you do... just, keep your handcuffs and whips where I can't see them."

After a few more pages, Akio was once again behind Mirai, picking her as some sort of tourist guide through this library. After his first book experience, he definitely wanted something less kinky.
